Crystal Mask of knowledge.

As it dont have an ilustration, me and my DM were yesterday arguing because of this.

I dont like the idea of a stupid mask covering my epic face http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/8/83784/1561135-trollface_small.jpg
so i told him to refluff it into a little object that when in contact with the face it turn into a magical black tattoo that covers part of the face.

...but, he doesnt like it either....

So... be creative, use your imagination, and tell me your fluffing ideas for a face slot magical item :smalltongue:

Glasses? Because people with high knowledge skills read a lot, right?

Or, hey, why can't the crystal mask be transparent? Then it wouldn't cover your pretty features!

Crystal Mask of Knowledge

"This mask features a piece of curved golden crystal that covers the forehead. The crystal is attached to the front of a dark brown cloth cap."

You have a forehead protector, that's nothing to complain about.

Perhaps it's a full-eye contact lens? You could go further and fluff it as reading your eye movements and displaying sections of a text concering the Knowledge subject it boosts in ridiculously small print on its transparent portion.

omg i dont wanna be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle... (for now)

Concerning glasses, now i remember my DM throw that idea but i rejected it... my character would look very strange with that.

Im a rogue-ranger-scout-dervish PC. I know Knowledge Devotion, but leaving the nerd part behind, he's pretty good fighting...and wearing glasses...i dont know.

and monocles... makes me feel like a high society english butler xD

Hey, lots of items LOOK stupid (Phylactery of Faithfulness? GUH!) but we deal. It's either look stupid or receive bonuses. Which is your sin, Vanity or Greed?

Kids these days with their pretty characters. In my day we wore a box on our head and we LIKED IT!

Eyebrow ring?

It's unobtrusive, and it sits right there by your frontal lobe. Give it some tiny runes and crystals, possibly which glow when it projects data into your brain, and you're good to go.

http://blogofwishes.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/cyclops-visor-replica-1.jpg perhaps?

Or actually, going with the 'know your enemy' theme of knowledge devotion:

The first one was, also suggested by my DM, not in a form of an I-pad, but close. but i rejected it because i use it a lot in fights and a "book" is difficult to manipulate during that time.

However, I stick to the scouter idea for now, but rather with this appearence:

-Badass, "Pirateish" and practical

Got any other ideas? :P

the idea of the eye pach is very "Solid" (get that', lol) but u must clarify some things.

first of all being a genius dosent make u a nerd. but the DEVOTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE does, so sry glasses or not ur character is a nerd.

second, being preety in dnd comes fisrt allways, the order is : coolnes > optimization > make the DM hate you.

third, why not a headband that dont cover our eyes, or earrings?, for the face u can use diferent magic beard shapes instead of tattos?

Something like a diadem or other droopy face-crystal-jewelery-thingy. It basically amounts to a pendant that hangs down over your forehead, and it kinda looks like...a third eye. Which is why they have a whole catagory of facial slot items called third eyes. Third Eye: Clarity, Third Eye: Concentrate, Third Eye: Penetrate, Third Eye: Mastur...wait...thats not one of them. Anyway, you get the point.

Examples of facewear that doesn't look dumbass:

Rorschack
V for Vendetta
Geordi Star Trek Visor
Cyclops visor
Activated third eye
Tilakas

I want to refluff my longsword as just a really cool karate chop that cuts people in half. I'm also gonna take a Cleric level, but refluff it as my own inner power manifesting magically.

And...?

Do you want me to tell you that your concept might be better as a Tashalatora Psychic Warrior or something?

Covering your face isn't cool? Really? (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CharClone)

Uuuuh Rorschach..... My PC personality and morality is similar but....but i cant use his mask, i dont deserve it.

now i cant decide between this two...

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_rwm7ZgEUp_U/S2GQdJQmCcI/AAAAAAAAAMc/TXU_arDoWRY/s400/sq_v_for_vendetta_mask.jpg DMs should be afraid of their PCs...

http://www.youngactressreviews.org/reviews/the_city_of_lost_children/shot04.jpg you could always steampunk it

I'd either go for the V style mask (always in style) with or without monocle if you really want style, or for some sort of eyepatch (not necessarily snake-style , but it would require a unique motif on it).

Am I reading this correctly? Is this a pair of goggles, ON YOUR FOREHEAD?

Please tell me that your character is vaguely steampunk.

Goggles are always an option, although they don't match all styles.

Please tell me that your character is vaguely steampunk.

And if he isn't, and goggles are the final form, you might want to invest in a trenchcoat ...

How about a replacement eyeball? Torment/Eye of Vecna-style?

Ummm nop, throw Kratos and Archer (fate) in a blender and drow him up. My current avatar show a OotS version of him.

And in this campaing, there is no spoon...i mean, no steampunk

How about a replacement eyeball? Torment/Eye of Vecna-style?

The other party members are:
-a human paladin similar to Zasamael from Soul calibur. He got 1 gold fake eye.
-a master thrower similar to Sakuya from Touhou, but chibi halfling. And she also has a "demonic" eye given by the DM about 1 year ago.

so another character with a replacement eye... would not be original by this moment :P

But i have to admit its always a cool idea.
