So, I had this idea for a campaign, that would mix D&D and D20 modern. There are two worlds, a D&D one and a D20 modern one. 17 years ago the D&D universe was faced with a dark entity, that threatened to destroy said world, but they managed to imprison it. Unfortunateley such evil forces rarely go away for good and this one was no different. It found a way it could try to free itself into another world - the D20 modern world.

Fortunately the gods forsaw this and selected 4 newborns in D&D world to be sent on the other side to stop the BBEG from returning. The highest clergy and mages found a way to contact someone from D20 modern world and explain them what is happening, and then found a way to send the heroes over on their 17th birthday.

On the other side their "contact" introduces them to their weird new home and disguises them as exchange students at his high school, that they attend waiting for weird things to start happening.

So something like a Buffy the vampire slayer thing, but with D&D. What do you think? Would you play in such a game?

I have actually been DMing a game like this.

Basically, it's got the whole "underworld" "harry potter" feel to it. Mixes modern with D&D rules.

They work well if the people are trustworthy of your ability.
