We got the first thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150356) to the maximum page count, so it's time to set up a second one.

If you're unfamiliar with the procedure, here are the instructions again:

If you want to create your own motivators, chose a picture and use the convenient tool found here (http://bighugelabs.com/motivator.php).
Important: The site does NOT save your finished motivator, so you have to upload it somewhere else first, before you can post it here. I like to use ImageShack (http://imageshack.us/), but every other site works as well.

Since many of us still use tiny screens, please use the [.Spoiler][./Spoiler] tags for all your images.

Feel free to roll your eyes as I open this thread with this image.

That was basically the best scene to ever be in anything. Okay, maybe that's some hyperbole, but I dare someone to find something more over the top in comparison to it's normal tone. While say, Gurren Lagann does this stuff all the time, Dresden Files is usually pretty straight laced. And then he rides a zombie T-Rex.

Edit: my apologies for no motivators but hey, all my good stuff comes from the thread.

Hmmm... well, in the new Scooby Doo cartoon, there eventually comes a scene in which HP Lovecraft is giving a lecture to his college class, but is interrupted by a twenty-something Che Guevarra and his hippie rock band, singing a song about how Cthulu shouldn't be discriminated against... and then Cthulu attacks.

In a Scooby Doo cartoon. And Harlan Ellison is there, also, and yells at Shaggy for saying "Like" too much, which is hysterical.

A Tamora Pierce book, one with Daine, climaxes with Daine resurrecting an entire natural history museum of dinosaur bones and other remains and burning and stomping an entire palace into the ground from the back of a wolly mammoth, with a small pause to make a deal with a horde of rats, before turning into a hyena to hunt down a mage-king.

....can I ask why? I mean, I'd feel it as an honor if someone made genuinely funny correlations about my work. Posters being unnecessarily critical or outright mean about OotS would be one thing, but a poster showing Belkar atop a mound of bodies with the caption: "Chaotic Evil, You're Doing It Right" would be awesome.

It has to do with Trademark law. Specifically, the characters are Trademarked, and unlike Copyright, trademark has no(or at least very little) fair use policy. If the Giant allows someone to violate his trademark at all, the entire trademark is destroyed.

....can I ask why? I mean, I'd feel it as an honor if someone made genuinely funny correlations about my work. Posters being unnecessarily critical or outright mean about OotS would be one thing, but a poster showing Belkar atop a mound of bodies with the caption: "Chaotic Evil, You're Doing It Right" would be awesome.

This is why. I only mention it because I got a warning from the mods and got the couple of OotS motivators I posted in my second post scrubbed.

I thought Mystic Theurges sucked because of the whole Jack-Of-All-Trades-Master-Of-None issue, or that they lost caster levels or feats or something. I'm not sure what the specific complaint was, but I thought the general consensus was that they were broken in the "weak" sense of the word. :smallconfused:

He did say those were the early days of ignorance, which implies that the motivator in question was made in early days of DnD 3.5. Or at least that it parodies that days, when people still tought that theurge is powerful. At least that's the way I see it.

And it can't be jack of all trades, master of none issues. First of all, that's bard's shtick. And second, bards are hardly a weak class, whereas theurge is somewhat commonly considered very weak.

Core entry for MT: Wiz3/Clr3/MT1.(Mt Max=10) ((IIRC)) So the problem is some dead levels so your not as high as a wiz7 or clr7 for casting and not much to go to outside afterwards. (OUtside of core though you have Ur-priest, Arcane Heiropahnt and others that make it not so bad, especially if using it as a spring board.)

...

Indeed. It's logic hails from the first days of 3.5 when people thought having hundreds of spells/day and casting from 2 spell lists would be worth missing out on the highest level spells and be immensely overpowered. Turns out they were wrong; much like with the Warlock "ZOMG IT'S GOT UNLIMITED POWARZ!!!" fears.

It has a Will Save in the region of 5 I think, and isn't immune to mind affecting things. This means any Enchantment is going to work on it.

If you stand in front of a very large hole waving a big ol' steak at it, it's Intelligence of 3 means it will charge straight at you, fall in, then you and your 40 hirelings (1sp/day each = 4gp/day) can take potshots with any ranged weapon at all (minimum 1 dmg on a hit, regeneration is only 40/round, in those circumstances you'll need a Natural 1 to miss).

It can't Plane Shift/Teleport and can't protect itself from those things so you can warp it to the Positive Energy Plane then wait for it to explode.

Once flying is available you don't even need the pit anymore because it has no ranged weapons.

It is the monk because at first it seems impressive and cool, but think about it and it's actually the biggest disappointment ever.

Chibi Template:

Chibi is an inherited template that can be applied to any Humanoid, Monstrous Humanoid or Giant, hereafter reffered to as the base creature.

Size and Type: The creature gains the Chibi subtype. Decrease the creatures size category by one step. Do not recalculate the Base Attack Bonus, Saves or Skill points of the creature because of the changed ability scores.

Hit Die: The base creatures Hit Die immediately becomes a D6. Recalculate all hitpoints for the creature

Speed: Base speed is not changed

Special Attacks:

Cuteness (Su): This ability affects all humanoids within 30 feet of a Chibi. Those who look directly at a nymph must succeed on a DC 17 Will save or be affected with fascination 1D8 rounds. During this time they may only say "D'aww" and "Squee!". Any attempts to communicate will be ignored. The affected creature will watch the Chibi closely and imediately grin (Like this: ) should the Chibi attempt any action. A Chibi can suppress or resume this ability as a free action. Creatures with the Chibi subtype are immune to this effect.

Abilities: Chibi creatures have a +2 bonus to all charisma based checks other than Intimidate as long as they are interacting with non-Chibi.

Other:
Chibi creatures are automatically proficient with Clue Bats.
Confirmation of critical hits against a Chibi has a +2 bonus sue to the size of their head
All Chibi have a hidded extradimensional pocket somewhere on their body. This pocket may only ever contain a Clue Bat. Retrieving the Clue Bat from the extradimensional space is a free action (Maybe Immediate?). Anything else placed inside the pocket is immediately dumped at the Chibis feet.

LA: (Dunno, what do you think?)

Clue Bat:
Exotic Two Handed Melee Weapon.
Type: Bludgeoning
Hardness: 10
Damage: 1d8 (Nonlethal)
Critical: 18-20/x2
Special: A Clue Bat may only be used in retaliation to a percieved slight against the character wielding it. Any creature struck by the Clue Bat is immediately aware of whatever wrongdoing caused them to be hit. A large bump, 4 to six inches long and 2-3 inches in diameter forms on the top of their head, whether or not this was actually where they were hit.

Does that work for a template? More abilities maybe? Rules for the clue bat?

I am like unto a reincarnation of Sherlock Holmes!!

More amusing description. Contains some naughty words. (http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Creed)

What I suspect is a less amuseing, but far more accurate portrayal of Creed.

Very good. Now we teach you about image tags. Instead of using the [.URL][/URL.] tags, use [.IMG][/IMG.] tags without the periods. It goes from this:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh147/fatalis902/motivator5343419.jpg
To this:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh147/fatalis902/motivator5343419.jpg

And an explanation of it, for what it's worth: in the Psionic Demotivators thread back on the Wizards board, the Ubiquitous Vison: I c wut u did thar poster was a default response when somebody made an in-joke or obscure reference. This was the logical conclusion, made by me.

And now we can teach you about the NOPARSE tag. Instead of adding dots or spaces or anything else to a tag to make the system ignore it, you can instead wrap it in NOPARSE tags. So it goes from this:

Abandoned? The last update is just 3 months ago.
It's not called "the worlds slowest updating webcomic" for nothing.
It has alsways been very slow with several hufe breaks in the past years, there are only about 7 or 8 pages per year, at very irregular intervals. I wouldn't call Blastwave abandoned until at least one year has passed since the last site activity.

Well that's nice. I followed it for a while but there was a point where the author pretty much stated "Yeah, I don't have time for this. Sorry, but I'm abandoning it." Seems he does keep coming back to it occasionally.

VG Cats is definitely one of them, alongside F@NBOYS and...well, just about anything that updates every three months or so. However, that depends; Erfworld updates once every 8 days or so, for example.

To my dismay, I get used to fast-updating webcomics (Homestuck being the record-holder) and dailies (Sinfest, YAFGC, now I got hooked with Blip).

Dresden Codak is somewhat bizarre, like the concept; it has the same schedule as VG Cats, which is "whenever it's ready".

I think I might have messed up, doing only something like 400d4+2000, or so, at a rough estimate.

Venerable Dragonwrought Desert Kobold Martial Monk 6.

Stats Str 6 Dex 16 Con 10 Int 11 Wis 16 Cha 22

Cloak of Charisma

2 Flaws: Something like Shaky and Murky-eyed

1 Martial Monk Flaws: Noble Birth, forgot what, Monk Epic Leadership, level Improved Leadership
2 Legendary Commander
3 Ecclesiarch
4
5
6 Assemble the Horde

So, at level six, I have a Leadership score of 6+7(Feat(Might only get five, depends on orders you can get feats))+7(Charisma with the item), or 20. At twenty, I have 50 1st, 5 2nd, 3 3rd, 2 4th, and 1 5th. Legendary Commander multiplies this number by ten, and Assemble the Horde gives me additional first level minions equal to the total number of minions above first level, so I have 610 first level minions, 50 second level minions, 30 third level, and so on. Now make them all Warmages with 16 Int and Cha mod of at least one. Now, have them all cast Magic Missile at the target. If I did my math right, it comes out to be about 610d4+2440+50d4+200+60d4+240+40d4+160+30d4+120, or 790d4+3160

Monks are the best class in the game.

@CycloneJoker: Your plan has one simple error: All followers granted by the Leadership feat are level 1 NPC-class only characters. They can't be warmages. Or even adepts. Using the exceptional followers rules, you could have all of your level 3 followers, with the DM's permission, to be level 1 warmages. Your plan is flawed. The fighter great cleaves your army into oblivion.

You're right. Oh, well, I don't see why they cannot be adepts, unless you could show me where, so sleep/Coup-de-grace, scorching ray from the higher-leveled ones, or arrows, or get my cohort to make, or just buy, a crap-ton of Wands of Magic Missile not as much damage, but still.

Epic Leadership. I can take any fighter feat for my levels 1, 2, and 6, and I don't have to meet pre-reqs, so Epic Fighter feats. Epic Leadership and Legendary Commander are good.

Martial Monk is a variant from Dragon 310, page 45. It says they gain fighter feats on those levels, but the monk doesn't have to meet pre-reqs for bonus feets on levels 1, 2, and 6, as per the main rules, since it doesn't specify they have to. And I am making the monk good, because nobody else can abuse leadership that badly that early.

Martial monk says something akin to "add all Fighter bonus feats to the possible monk feat lists."

Then the monk class claims that the monk can take one of x feats without meeting the prerequisites.

So combined together it can mean either, the monk can take x feats without meeting the prerequisites, or any Fighter feat. Which means that technically they can't take Weapon Specialization which I'm guessing by RAI they were going for. Or the other way of looking at it is "By taking 1 level of monk I can get Epic Leadership."

I fail to see how it is an awkward reading. The monk specifically says
Bonus Feat
At 1st level, a monk may select either Improved Grapple or Stunning Fist as a bonus feat. At 2nd level, she may select either Combat Reflexes or Deflect Arrows as a bonus feat. At 6th level, she may select either Improved Disarm or Improved Trip as a bonus feat. A monk need not have any of the prerequisites normally required for these feats to select them.

Now, the wording from from the Magazine:
Gain: Fighter bonus feat list to choose monk bonus feats (at 1st, 2nd, and 6th level; Intimidate as a class skill
Lose: -1 skill point per level (and -4 skill points at first level); No knowledge skills as class skills. Nowhere does it say they now have to meet the pre-reqs.

Martial monk says something akin to "add all Fighter bonus feats to the possible monk feat lists."

I fail to see any reading that disallows this. Now, if I was attempting to DM a balanced game, I'd crack up if anyone brought this, but it is 100% legal, and I'd laugh the same if they tried to play an Erudite.

Actually, as you highlighted, it does say THESE FEATS.

If it said "A monk need not have any of the prerequisites normally required for his or her bonus feats to select them." The trick would work, but that it specifies these feats makes them an inclusive group.

Just cause she's a beautiful scantily clad angel does not mean she ceases to be a LG tight-ass(lol whoops) who would likely demand strict dating rules and would likely smite you into next Tuesday if she caught you even speaking to another female.

No, I prefer Evil, as the Evil Planar Ally poster points out.

Ugh, lets not go into alignment discussion right after one we just had about that monk.

And besides, hooves are a major turn-off. And this is coming from somebody who's very fond of succubi.

Alignment discussion was not my intent. I was trying to reference a post back in the other thread but I couldnt remember where it was.

Funny, because of the Drizzt books the one that picture's from is probably the least talked about.

And, coincidentally, probably the best in the series. Setbacks, epic battles, a villian 5 times as awesome as Drizzt...

Not much to complain about there.

When's someone gonna stat out a celestial that embodies the beauty of consensual lovemaking or somesuch...

There was an old piece of homebrew on these boards that was essentially an anti-Succubus, in that they honestly loved each and every one of their partners and did their best to make sure they were happy and well off. I don't remember what it was called, though.

Wasn't that the whole deal of pistis sophia? I also think there is a goddess in the Libris Mortis book of bad latin, that embodies the eternal love or something like that.

Yeah, that one always drives me insane when I see it. In fact, the game mechanics seem to favor the opposite...

Most god(esse)s of love are Good or at least Chaotic, you'd think they'd have some appropriate staff...

And that's ot all! Isn't the goddess of love in the forgotten realms, despite being chaotic good, able to have paladin worshippers?

Well, some Eladrin used to be like that. But Eladrin were generally a bit scarce in 3E fluff.

I'm pretty sure that there are some feat/class combinations in Book of Erotic Fantasy that not only allow, but require your character to both be Good and a total nymphomaniac.

...

What?

Moving on!

A disclaimer before anyone is... curious enough to look up the show they're from: The show contains copious amounts of violence, sexual content and bodily excretions. It's not suitable for kids - or anyone else, for that matter.
