Music is able to touch our emotions, and humour is one of them. Whether it's a clever play on words that makes you smirk, or full-out over the top absurdity, musical comedy is often overlooked and underappreciated. Share your favourite songs that made you laugh.

I'll start us off with The Chainsaw Juggler (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFapmRm8MJs) by The Four Postmen. I don't know if it has any meaning or point, or any wisdom that it seeks to impart to us through the use of comedy. All I know is, there's something wrong with this song. I just don't know what it could be.

Anything by Stephen Lynch (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=stephen+lynch&aq=f) cracks me up. I love funny songs and the to be honest the more outrageous the better.

They've got a lot of Canadian-centric humour, but the Arrogant Worms (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TywmpMQYojs) are good for a laugh. [Strong Language Warning - there's not actually any strong language, but well, it still needs to be tagged just because]

Also, Richard Cheese and Lounge Aganist the Machine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBOpk33VlSg) cover rock and metal songs in a lounge style, with humourous results. [Strong Language Warning - for real this time]

Anything by Weird Al Yankovic, really, from The Saga Begins (Star Wars Episode I to the music of American Pie) to The Night Santa Went Crazy (most violent Christmas song ever).

I am surprised no one mentioned Because I Got High (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAAyNyywhHc). I actually never laugh when I hear this song (although I appreciate it in a somber way), but a lot of people do and I am told that it was intended as a satire. (As far as I know, no language, but I could be wrong)

Also, Charlie the Unicorn I (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuwY8U1AY7k), II (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGx4kuteVIA&feature=fvst), and III (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGx4kuteVIA&feature=fvst) had some rather popular songs. I laughed the first few times until I got over it, but this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H03HYK7TR-o) still has me going:smalltongue:! (Skalrag at 2:27)

Pretty much any of the Silly Songs with Larry. Like, Oh Where is My Hairbrush (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtHr7gluh08) or Love My Lips (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTIKB5HBkhM), or the Song of the Cebu. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gQXa9SgrtE) All very silly, all very funny.

I personally like

It's beginning to look like fishman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFo4jbqe_2Y)

But my personal favourite is

March of the Sinister Ducks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFK2Xq2RyiU)

It's by Alan Moore! I can't help but imagining that he's DEAD SERIOUS with this song and writing this song with hardened look and his infamous bushy beard, hoping that people would notice his warning.

Fair warning, quite a few songs of his are shy on the side of vulgar/explicit as well as often making political/religious statements (the Pope Song was pretty funny, but the whole song was basically supposed to be offensive as it's mostly just him dropping the f-word for two minutes, it's better then it sounds), but do look him up as his stuff is great (same with the other two)

It hasn't become an Internet meme, true, but I've actually met quite a lot of people (mostly musicians) who know about this video but have no other conception of what Focus is. :smalltongue:

Oh, just remembered this one: "Fear the Boom and Bust" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0nERTFo-Sk), aka Hayek vs. Keynes. Even though I'm not a economy major or something, I think this was hilarious.

I'll add another vote for Weird Al -- Nature Trail to Hell being one of my favorite songs of his.

I'd also add:
Tim Wilson and Rodney Carrington (both are rather Country, but still funny).

and

Here Come the Mummies

All tend to have some language and/or mature themes, however, so they might not be for everyone.

Zimmer's Hole bring's a metal spoof oriented humor, and they do it with alot of love.
They will spoof genres and cliches, and they are also pretty good musician as well.
They also integrate famous riffs from famous songs.

good stuff.

Also, Dethklok do some decent comedic metal too.
