[3.5/Pathfinder] Contact Other Plane

As we all know, contact other plane is tons of fun. However, it's got that nasty side effect of blasting your int/cha on a failed will save. Does anyone know some fun ways of circumventing this unpleasant side effect?

I'm not sure if it's different in Pathfinder (don't have my book with me) but in 3.5 it's not a will save but an intelligence check - the lowest of which is DC 7 which means if you have an INT bonus of 5 you need to roll at least a 2 to succeed. The highest is DC 16 though which would require a roll of at least 11 for an INT bonus of 5.

From what I can see, the INT and CHA decrease isn't even ability score temporary damage which means restoration type spells won't help.

So your best bet would be to use some form of INT boosting spell/item in advance.
