View Full Version : [d20 Modern] Armor Proficiencies granted by class?

No basic or advanced class in d20 Modern offers automatic proficiencies in armor, even those that seem based on it (such as the Dreadnought). Why is this, and what would be the ramifications of adding class proficiencies similar to D&D to advanced classes?

Without armor proficiency being on bonus feat lists for basic classes, it seems to be a rather obscene feat sink.

I'd guess it's either an oversight or to discourage use of armor.
It wouldn't break anything to give every class full armor proficiencies. In a typical d20 Modern game you can't go heavily armored everywhere anyway (people tend to look at you funny if you're sitting in a bar wearing riot gear), so it's easy enough to prevent players from causing trouble with it.
