Hello all -

Just wanted to share a link to this very cool (spacegeek!) photo archive - Astronomy Picture of the Day (http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html) - pictures are media, right?

Anyway, tons of fantastic pics in here, running the gamut from raw satellite pictures to earthbound sky shots, artist work and fancy telescope photos. Nice to browse through and remember how small we are, yet how far we can see.

Oh yes, those are indeed great. I believe the giant ass saw thing is somewhere in the archives, right?
I remember my high school computer lab used to print out the daily pictures and tape them onto the wall. Good times. :smallcool:

Yes, this is one of my favorite sites. It's become sort of a daily routine for me in the morning. Check e-mail, then the webcomics, then the picture of the day. As weird as it sounds, it's my equivalent of coffee. Always an inspiration, without the hassle of burning myself on hot bean juice.

APOD is actually my homepage when I start up Firefox.

A few favorites have to be ...

... pretty much anything with Saturn in it ...

Okay, I know that this thread hasn't seen any action in a little bit, but this was too neat not to bring up.

A very nice little video of Cassini on approach to Saturn. In case you ever wondered what it would look like in real life to just fly around it. :smallcool:

I enjoy enjoying the wonders of this world, and I also enjoy enjoying the wonders of other worlds.
