My friend is playing a druid who wildshapes and he was wondering if he could cast animal growth on himself while in wolf form, I said no because he's not an animal because he has above 2 int. Could someone give me an exact reason why this would or would not work?
Thanks much

It doesn't say if you're counted as an animal for spells (they really should clarify), but it says you change into an animal, which means you probably count as an animal for transmutation spells, but not mind affecting spells.

Wildshape does not change your type, therefore he is not a legal target for Animal Growth.

Is he still humanoid then? Could he cast enlarge person on himself?

If he was humanoid to start, yes.
