Contests and custom titles

In the FAQ it says you can get a temporary custom title in a contest. While I don't really care about a title, I'm interested in contests. Do those still exist? Or is it just part of what used to be back when the FAQ was updated? I couldn't even figure out what the directions to the contest threads meant, as they didn't match up with the site. Do they still exist, and how do I find them?

officially, I don't believe the Mods do any contests, for names or prizes or anything like that.

Unofficially, there are a few contests, the most notable one I can think of is the Optimization contest in Roleplaying Games.

There's the monster competition (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189214), prestige class contest (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189188), and base class challenge (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188307) in the homebrew forum. None of them offer titles, but the monster competition grants signature trophies, I think. Also, a homebrew being a contest winner is a pretty big boost to its prestige (no pun intended on the prestige class side of things).

So do those not exist anymore? Because I'm sure I saw someone with the title "Library Lover Contest Winner", some time ago.

Correct. There are no Official Contests being run at this time. If there were, they might offer Custom Titles for a short period of time. It's possible that some winners of the last official contest did not have their titles removed at the appropriate time and still have them.

Also, the FAQ is out of date.
