There was Swedish RPG where you played penguins, but I doubt it was named Penguin RPG, even when translated. There was a team of Swedes who were trying to translate it as a fan work, but I don't think it ever got anywhere.

Some Finnish RPG had you play as penguins on the tundra, yes. I remember the thread.

There was talk about someone from the Playground translating it, but I'm not sure if that ever got started. I haven't heard anything about it in a long time.

You could convert all the player races in D&D into penguin species.

Like humans are king penguins, half orcs are emperor penguins, dwarves are rockhopper penguins, elves are gentoo penguins, halflings are little blue penguins. Any thoughts?

I did come accross a blister pack of about a dozen figures a few years ago. It was enititled Frisky Penguins
You can guess what it contained. I wonder if the sculptor was influenced by this game ?

And here we have the first boon of the newly arranged forums: I had completely missed this thread when it was buried beneath a ton of D&D discussion
I already PM'd Thefurmonger on this subject a while back, but I figure the rest of you might be interested as well, so here goes:

The translation for the (Finnish) game, the Valley of Eternity, is done, that much I know. We deemed the idea of a team effort unviable after a lot of problems with staying in contact and sticking to agreed schedules, so I got permission to write up the translation on my own. It didn't even take as long as I had suspected, which makes the ridiculous delays we've had with the project utterly unforgivable.

So, there. A translation exists and it has been sent to the publisher. I can't give a release date, as that is the publisher's right to announce whenever they want to. All I can say that I both me and the original author of the game are happy with the proofread end result and hope you guys will be too once we see a release date.

Please forgive this huge delay we've had and look forward to the Valley of Eternity, a rules-lite, flavour-heavy roleplaying game about difficult choices, tragic heroes, mystic landscapes and the penguins who live amongst it all.

So full of win, indeed.

I must really decide to propose this to my players.

I've been waiting for the translation since the first post, when it showed up on GiTP.
I'm looking forward to this,
if it's released as a PDF only I may have to Lulu (http://www.lulu.com/publish/books/) it.
this will be amazing.

I can only say the same. It's been in my head a lot the past few days, and I'm very happy I found this thread and heard the news. I just cannot wait.

Can someone who speaks Finnish prod the publisher for a english release date?
After digging though their website, all i could get was "Sometime in 2011"
