My friend and I were discussing D&D last night, and he was wondering how many prestige classes could fit in a viable build.
Since he and I do not have the knowledge or resources of the boards we challenge you to create a viable lvl 20 build with as many prestige classes a possible. Good Luck

Wizard 3, Master Specialist 2, 15 levels of 15 different full-casting PrCs (or at least PrCs that grant spellcasting at 1st level).

Will get 1 more PrC possible than a melee class because MS can be entered unnaturally early.

EDIT; If you count Paragon classes as Prestige classes, melee might win out -Half-Orc Fighter 3/Half-Orc Paragon 1/Human Paragon 1/15 levels of 15 different melee PrCs.

I'll raise you commoner 1/survivor 1/Wizard 1 (I think it requires 2nd level spells, so throw precocious apprentice in there for 3rd level)/Master Specialist 2/15 levels of 15 different full-casting PrCs.:smallamused:

I was avoiding early-entry shenanigans. If they're allowed, that will tie with the Paragon melee build.

Glyphstone, with some simple Sanctum Spell shanananananananananigans, and assuming Human (since you need 2 feats), you could get into Master Specialist after only 2 Wizard levels. Thus, you could be a Wizard2/MS10, and that would get you into any other full casting PrC printed.

If you were going for a wealth of PrCs, easy ones to qualify for are:

Mindbender
Fatespinner
Wayfarer Guide
Divine Oracle
Loremaster (double the prereq feat with Divine Oracle)
Archmage (Master Specialist gives you the bonus feat you need)
Mage of the Arcane Order (similar prerqs to Loremaster)
Alienist

and probably a couple more...

My high level wizard is a Wizard3/MS4/DO2/LM3/WG1/AM2 as a 15th level character. Thats 5 PrCs, and I'll probably take another to break up my AM levels.

Eh, might as well count Paragon as a prestige class for this purpose, but would prefer something a little more specific.

take spontaneous summoning on a conjurer, versatile spellcaster, and sanctum spell. go ruathar 1 or something, then master specialist. there are probably enough orcs that just require 3rds.

Early entry, but no Rainbow Servant yet? Come on!

Human Conjurer with two flaws and the Spontaneous Conjuration ACF
1 Wizard, take Spell Focus (Conjuration), Heighten Spell, Sanctum Spell and Precocious Apprentice.
2 Rainbow Servant
3 Master Specialist, take Southern Magician
4 Ruathar
5 Mystic Theurge (can enter due to Southern Magician)
6 Mindbender, take Iron Will
7 Incantatrix, use the bonus feat to take Cooperative Spell.
8 Mage of the Arcane Order
9 Sacred Exorcist, take Skill Focus (Knowledge [Religion])
10 Divine Oracle
11 Loremaster
12 Wayfarer Guide, take Energy Substitution (any)
13 Elemental Savant
14 Ultimate Magus (can enter due to Spontaneous Conjuration)
15 Geometer, take whatever
16 Fatespinner
17 Paragnostic Apostle
18 Unseen Seer, take Enlarge Spell
19 Arcane Devotee
20 Visionary Seeker

There. 20 levels of full casting. 0 BAB.

Divine Minion from a Web Enhancement is a template that grants Wild Shape. A human with a flaw can enter Master of Many Forms with no base class levels, if that's even possible. I don't think it is.

You sir do indeed win. But everyone knows that spellcasters can do this, can you do it again for a melee build?

It's a lot harder to do because there are no early entry tricks for BAB.

With that build what spells would you get since the BAB is 0?

I do believe you have won this thread.

Similar to what I was going to say.

Without early entry shenanigans you could do 17 levels I think (Stoneblessed). With it.. 19 levels of prestige classes.

Doesn't mean it would be all that awesome a character.

Also you could use some Racial levels with a monster race and go right into some prestige classes from there also. Technically not having any base class levels at all.

Easy. Just don't take any spells that require attack rolls. Most of the good control ones don't anyway. (Grease, etc.)

Spontanous Divination can't be taken as your 1st level sub feat. 5th+ only.

<snip>
Level: 5th, 10th, 15th, or 20th.
Replaces: This benefit replaces the bonus feat gained by a wizard at 5th, 10th, 15th, or 20th level.
<snip>

Sorry to crush your build...

Not spontaneous divination, spontaneous summoning. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#spontaneousSummoning) You trade away your extra spells per day for it. I did call it by the wrong name, though.

Who cares your build has won and we will bow to her glory.
"Kneel before SurlySeraph!!!"

His, actually. Thank you, though.
Unless you mean the build is female. In which case I probably have to find a picture for it.

With that build what spells would you get since the BAB is 0?

Ones that don't have attack rolls, mostly save-or-dies. This character can't do anything in response to an AMF but scream like a nancy and run away, and I can't think of any single PrC level that gives a way to cast in an AMF, but that's what only fighting via an astral projection from your private demiplane is for.
