It's so boring, waiting for Hanif to report in. Hey, you, mind entertaining me for a few minutes?

I shall lead.

I activate Future Fusion, sending two White Stones of Legend, two Horus Lv 6, and Horus Lv 8 to my Graveyard to summon Five-Headed Dragon in two turns. My Stones add two Blue-Eyes to my hand. I will then set a card and end my turn.

"Am I supposed to be impressed now? While your Five-headed Dragon is strong, it only comes in two turns, this gives me free reign during that time. I summon a measly Spined Gillman, buffing himself up to 1700 with his effect. I then place two facedown cards and directly attack your lifepoints with the Gillman."

During your End Phase, I activate my face-down Royal Decree.

[roll0]

Now, I'll activate Trade-In, discarding a Blue-Eyes to draw two more cards.

((Turn resumes after draws.))

Just what I needed. I summon Decoy Dragon, and remove him from play to summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. His effect summons Horus Level 6 from my Graveyard. I activate Solidarity. Horus destroys your Gillman, and my Dragon attacks directly. (4200 damage). I end my turn. Horus levels up, meaning that you cannot use Spells or Trap Cards.

Horus levels up, meaning that you cannot use Spells or Trap Cards.

((Err... No. Horus Lvl. 8 only blocks spells. While Royal Decree makes this as a net effect, this is written in a manner confusing to anyone who does not have familiarity with the card.))

Why do you persist, when you have obviously lost? My Five-Headed Dragon appears, and my Red-Eyes can call on Blue-Eyes from the grave. Blue-Eyes destroys your monster, and my Five-Headed Dragon ends this.

"That ends it, indeed. Though I don't think you can deny the luck of the draw of getting both Future Fusion and Royal Decree in your initial hand, along with helpful cards like trade-in and decoy dragon to further things along." The defeated man, crushed in a mere two turns then looks you straight in the eye. "If you must know, I persist simply because not doing so is worse than defeat. A person who doesn't face their problems is worse than a loser in my book. Your lucky draw was my problem." The determination emanating from his eyes seem like the immovable force of water itself, coasting on the land like a great tsunami.

"As for my question, the only reason why I was here in the first place was to find new toys for my son to play with, he gets bored easily you see." At that, he added a little smile to the fray. "Oh by the way, the monster you sent to the graveyard that last turn was Sangen, and I had Aegis of the Ocean Dragon Lord and Salvage face-down and ready."

((Sorry, I'm kind of big on RP, if you haven't noticed. :smallwink:))

Luck? Probably. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Many of the greatest battles in history were won by mere chance. Skill is important, but never underestimate raw chance.

((Well then, have you seen the IC thread yet?))

Lazy Genius

"Never said luck was a bad thing, but it just so happens that the more I play, the more luck I tend to have. And while we've been talking for quite some time and have dueled, albeit a mere three turn duel, my question remains unanswered. Or do have an answer similar to one I'd procure?"

((Ah, but I just need a stepping stone to get there, one unaligned man, who has a perfect losing record isn't a voice people are going to listen to, is it? :smallwink:))

Toys? We're an ancient civilization that brings monsters to life. I doubt you would find anything here.

((Wait, this is an ancient civilization? Could you tell me more about the specific setting, I simply assumed it was set in modern times. If it isn't in modern times, what setting is it? :smallconfused:))

Anyone who talks in sandy brown is an Egyptian. We are in modern (actually slightly futuristic) times, but Egyptian society has remained untouched for millennia. Currently, the Pharaoh, and the leaders of every other person's factions, are trapped in a mysterious Museum, home of the 2010-2011 Holiday Tournament, which is taking much longer than it should due to the host's lack of posting time. The Egyptians are mounting their army to invade the Museum, once they found it, and the persona you just dueled was Khes, Egypt's very laid-back general.

I see, thanks for the heads up, I was totally lost on that one, being new and all. Is there anything else about posting colour that I should remember (like the Sandy Brown being Egyptian?

I'm the only one who has an entire faction using one color. For everyone else, it's character-by-character.
