Prevent Teleportation - 7 - One 10ft Cube within Close Range per two caster levels becomes an invalid destination for Teleport spells. This area must be continuous and is treated as if it were filled entirely of stone for the shunting effect of Teleport. Duration is 1 minute/CL, but it may be made permanent for 2,500 XP.

So the question: Should this spell be allowable? In any high-magic game, teleportation raids become very prominent. Assassination? Teleport into the target's bedchambers. Recon? Teleport. Theft? Teleport. Tresspassing? Teleport. This spell could be used to protect against these in a way that's better than simply delaying the teleportation or alerting you of it. However, it does not have a very large area and the teleporters still get very close to their destination, so it's not a fool-proof defense.

So, should this be allowed, and if it should, is this a relatively balanced spell?

A higher level, more restrictive, shorter duration, smaller area version of forbiddance? (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/forbiddance.htm)

It either needs a drop in level or a big boost, if you ask me.

How did I-

Wow. I can't believe that I somehow didn't see that spell. *Facepalm*

Uhh... You saw nothing. This is not the thread you are looking for.

Edit: Upon review, my spell does still have a place. Namely, I was looking for a Wizard spell to fill this roll. So perhaps if I were to simply drop this by two levels (With a corresponding drop in the XP cost for making it Permanent) it would still be valid?

Editedit: It would still need a boost to it's size, however...

There's also proof from teleportation in the 2nd ed Forgotten Realms books. (most notably the ever useful Adventures)

Wizards use dimensional lock (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/dimensionalLock.htm), or refusal (SpC 171). Pocket dimensions created through MMM (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/magesMagnificentMansion.htm), genesis (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/spells/genesis.htm), or psionic genesis (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/genesis.htm) are also safe from teleportation since they don't reside on the same plane.
