I could use some basic advice for surviving high-level DM'ing. We're all new to the high levels of D&D. I have a customized diviner wizard as one of the PC's in my campaign. We have by mutual agreement decided that spells of the variety of "what will happen tomorrow" are off-limits, because none of us are really that planned. So the main issue is scrying and the like. I don't want to be cheap and mind blank everything, but I'm at a bit of a loss for counters. Could anyone name some good staple spells/tactics that counter this?

There's several options besides just blocking it. That just makes the PCs suspicious and more paranoid, and escalates the arms race.

Instead, show them something else. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/falseVision.htm) Or be misleading in a mundane way. (e.g. the bad guy wears a disguise all the time, and has his bodyguard dress like him.) Or the bad guy the PCs are checking up on isn't the real bad guy.

False Image, Nondetection, Mordenkainen's Private Sanctum all block or otherwise mess up scrying. There's an item mentioned in Bunko's Bargain Basement that counterattacks scryers... Deathglance Locket (Dragon Compendium 134)

Thanks! I'm especially interested in ways that allow the PC's some chance of figuring out something's up. It's that nice balance between "yes you can use your abilities" and "no you can't break the game."

There's also Screen (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/screen.htm), although its text is kind of ambiguous.
