It looks like the die roll database may be fritzing out, as of the time of this post. Here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158769&page=22) is an example.

If a post with rolls is previewed, that'll happen. Could be something else, though.

They've been temporarily disabled. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/announcement.php?f=30&a=58)

It could also be that the die rolls are temporarily disabled (http://www.giantitp.com/index.html#NV7Q9BBf8ossKv7DZy6).

Editor's Note: Despite how humorous it may or may not be, this post was written without any knowledge of the previous post. I blame ninjas, swordsages, and Sidereal Exalted.

I'm pretty sure it's something else. Posts that were showing die rolls earlier are now showing [roll0], [roll1], etc. I'm pretty sure this is what the messageboard system uses as a placeholder for stored die rolls in the message text. Checking older posts, it looks like the problem affects the entire thread. I have another thread with the same issue as well.

It's not something else. The rest of your post explains why, actually. The [roll#] tag is a reference tag to allow another script on the server to replace that tag with the appropriate die roll. If you quote a post with a roll in it when the script is active, you'll see that tag in place of the roll there, as well.

Currently, as per the announcement, the script that replaces the [roll#] tags with the roll outputs has been temporarily disabled while the staff fiddles around with some stuff behind-the-scenes.

If you really need to dice roll, I suggest trying here

It's not the playground, but it can help if you are in the middle of an encounter.

Heh. Lotta ninjas here. My comment was a response to Zeofar without quoted content to make it obvious. Two more replies slipped in while I was typing. Thanks for the clarification.
