I've a player who's building a Sorcerer/Mage of the Arcane Order/Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil/Archmage.

His problem is mainly that he has 1 feat available that doesn't have to be a prerequisite, even after taking two flaws. Are there any prestige classes he could take instead of sorcerer 2-5 that grant the various feats he needs for prereqs? Other sources of feats are also welcome.

The feats being
Arcane Preparation
Spell focus(Abjuration)
Greater spell focus(abjuration)
Skill focus(spellcraft)
Cooperative spell
One other metamagic feat

He's using a homebrewed quick fix for the sorcerer - gains access to new spell levels when the wizard does, with 1 spell plus bonuses per day when he does.

On another topic, I've heard that there's a houserule that balances the Iot7V, but I was unaware that it was less balanced than any other given fullcaster. What is it? Just so it doesn't take me flat-footed if it comes up.

If you want a PrC before level 5, you're either going to have to spend feats on an early entry or you're going to lose caster levels on a PrC like a Paragon class.

Question... How are you getting Mage of the Arcane Order without spending a feat to be able to prepare arcane spells?

Arcane Preparation, editing OP. But I don't think anything gives that as a bonus feat.

Well, there's the Generic Spellcaster (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/genericClasses.htm). But that's a base class that's technically different from a Sorcerer.

Make up a "Master Specialist"-type class? Or hell, just let him take Master Abjurer; that should do it. It'll get him Greater Spell Focus (Abjuration) and Skill Focus (Spellcraft), among other things.

EDIT: Master Specialist is in Complete Mage. It's enterable at 4th, and though it doesn't give Greater Spell Focus until 3rd (making you a Sorc 3/MSpec 3 at 6th), the 2nd level class feature explicitly refers to a spellbook, so you could always just nix that in favor of moving GSF forward a level.

*cough* Wizard 5 *cough* would cover the metamagic feat.
If your houseruling to balance Sorcs anyway: then maybe you could balance this also?
