Can a character take both the Draconic and the half-dragon template, or would the half-dragon template interfere with the Draconic template?

Technically, you can take both. There is no "interference."

technically, you can apply the Half-dragon template to a full dragon. It's the only known way to get a pink dragon after all. Then you get it a wizard rider and make them villains in a campaign, them being 'Pinky and the brain' :smalltongue:

but seriouesly, there's no restriction on it, but that's a +4 LA you're looking at there

+3 actually (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/halfDragon.htm).

Any sensible DM would refuse the half-dragon template to a dragon.

I was actually referring to the mixing of the half-dragon template with the draconic template, as that would be +4. You can't expect a guy with a half-dragon avatar to not know what he's talking about with templates :smalltongue:
