So, I'm creating a new character in a campaign in which the DM likes to make us both role-play travelling as well as makes us travel a lot and I wanted to cut down travel time as much as possible. So good people of the playground, whats a good, fast, flying, mount that could possibly be useful in combat.

Griffon. Synergizes nicely with the not-terrible PrC Aglararond Griffon Rider (PGtF).

Low level, Hippogriff. Mid level, Griffon.

Other flying PrC worth noting, Moonsea Sky Sentinel. Full BAB non-caster, gets Shield and Spell Turning as abilities. Spell turning by level 8 or 9 if I recall. Also comes with an Advanced Dire Hawk that levels as you do.
