The campaign I'm in is almost finished, and I'm already thinking of the character I'm going to make for the next one. I just finished playing a big hairy barbarian; now I want to play a little guy who specializes in fighting things bigger than him. (not just specifically giants, as the title suggests)

What's the best race/class/feats combination to achieve this? Is it a better idea to start off fighter, ranger or rogue? Is the GNOME GIANT-SLAYER prestige class from Complete Warrior worth it? Etc, etc.

Not looking for casters, and my group doesn't like Tome of Battle.

Just got back from poking around.

I'm thinking about going fighter for the first 2 levels, rogue for the next 4 and then taking 10 in Dervish. This would be on a halfling with a spiked chain. Sound solid?
