If a Monk has an Animated Shield, does that mean you can't add your Wis to AC?

It said you still take penalties for using the shield. Now assuming hes proficient, does that mean that even when animated, its counts against using his Wis to AC?

Yes. There is no difference between using an animated shield and growing a third arm to weild it. All animated does is allow you to use your off-hand for TWF or a two-handed weapon.

That said, Monks are such a weak class, if you decide to rule that you can use an animated shield, it will hardly break your game.

I'd rather just reverse-engineer better/worse Rings of Force Shield.

Price should be (2000*[bonus]^2 + 500).
