Telepathy across planes

Is there any way PCs separated by planes can communicate telepathically?

Rary's bond doesn't work across planes, but is the ethereal plane far enough from the material plane to block transmissions?

Get both of them back in the same plane, even if temporarily ? Blink can get them to shift between the ethereal and the material, for example. There's going to be a lot of cuts, but it's better than nothing. Pretty sure there's a lesser blink as well.

Either Spell Compendium or Planar Handbook has a version of telepathic bond that works across planes.
