Dimension door allows the caster to transfer himself to an exact spot within range. However, the target location may have changed without the caster's knowledge.

How would you resolve this spell if the target location has moved? E.g. the room the caster wishes to transfer to has been raised a few hundred feet.

How would you resolve this spell if the structure of the target location has changed? E.g. the floor has been removed from the room that the caster wishes to transfer to.

Exactly like you would expect; transferring "150 feet south" moves you there, whether or not there is a 'there' to stand on and the caster then begins falling. I think you can specify relative targets though, such as "other side of this door". If that's still true, then the caster trying to DD to "conrad's room" will work if conrad's room is still in range, even if it moves.

Be mindful though, saying "I dim-door to the room that was on the south-east end" wouldn't help if the room moved and was no longer on the south east end.

I don't think you can specify indirect targets.

In my mind dimension door is a teleport based on relative positions.
If you say "I wanna jump to the middle of the adjacent room" your mind figures out how far that is approximately based on your experince and shunts you to there. If there is no room or the floor was removed, you fall. Its all absed on jumping direction X an amount of Y feet.

Dimension Door
Conjuration (Teleportation)
Level: Brd 4, Sor/Wiz 4, Travel 4
Components: V
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Target: You and touched objects or other
touched willing creatures
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None and Will negates
(object)
Spell Resistance: No and Yes (object)
You instantly transfer yourself from your
current location to any other spot within
range. You always arrive at exactly the spot
desired—whether by simply visualizing
the area or by stating direction, such as
“900 feet straight downward,” or “upward
to the northwest, 45-degree angle, 1,200
feet.” After using this spell, you can’t take
any other actions until your next turn. You
can bring along objects as long as their
weight doesn’t exceed your maximum
load. You may also bring one additional
willing Medium or smaller creature
(carrying gear or objects up to its maximum
load) or its equivalent per three
caster levels. A Large creature counts as
two Medium creatures, a Huge creature
counts as two Large creatures, and so forth.
All creatures to be transported must be in
contact with one another, and at least one
of those creatures must be in contact with
you.
If you arrive in a place that is already
occupied by a solid body, you and each
creature traveling with you take 1d6 points
of damage and are shunted to a random
open space on a suitable surface within 100
feet of the intended location. If there is no
free space within 100 feet, you and each
creature traveling with you take an
additional 2d6 points of damage and are
shunted to a free space within 1,000 feet. If
there is no free space within 1,000 feet, you
and each creature travelling with you take
an additional 4d6 points of damage and the
spell simply fails.

I'd say allow it as long as the new position is still within range.

Okay, though I'd then ask what happens if someone moves around the furniture in the room you afterwards try to visualize.
Or if someone as mentioned makes the floor disappear.
