Home and End buttons stopped working

The home and end keys on my firefox browser just stopped working. Please help?

EDIT: I also started getting the flashing cursor thing on everything on the firefox page; I know the two are related. Please help!

It sounds like some sort of insert, scroll lock, or num lock sort of issue.
