So, over in the World-Building subforum, a couple people are working on expanding the fluff of the Morndinsamman, the dwarven pantheon. I plan on making God-Blooded templates for the Morndinsamman, using the permanent template variant rules found in the Monster Manual V.

Moradin-Blooded
Moradin-Blooded is an acquired template that can be added to any dwarf. Dwarves who dedicate their lives to the protection of fellow worshipers are often viewed with great respect. Those who lose suffer a great loss protecting others may occasionally be rewarded by Moradin, who grants them mighty abilities in exchange for their continued good servants.

Special Attacks: Moradin-Blooded gain the following special attacks:

Fortification (Ex): Moradin-Blooded have toughed bodies, giving them a 50% chance of ignoring sneak attacks and critical hits. This does not stack with fortification from another source.

Moradin's Bravery (Su): Once per day, as a standard action, the Moradin-Blooded may inspire his allies with divine power. For a number of rounds equal to 1/2 his HD (rounded down), the Moradin-Blooded grants all allies within 30 ft. a morale bonus to all saves, attack and damage rolls, as well as armor class equal to his Wisdom modifier (minimum 1).

Special Qualities: A Moradin-Blooded has the following special qualities:

Damage Reduction 5/Magic

Challenge Rating: +1
Level Adjustment: +1

Berronar-Blooded
Berronar-Blooded is a template that can be added to any Dwarf. Dwarves in the service of Berronar usually take the roles of surrogate parents, guiding younger humanoids and healing the ill. Those who are especially giving may gain the favor of the Berronar Truesilver. Those infused with her motherly love are among the greatest healers and defenders of dwarven society.

Special Qualities: Berronar-Blooded gain the following special qualities:

Great Healing (Su): Once per day, a Berronar-Blooded may heal 1d6 damage for every other HD she possesses (rounded down). For example, a Berronar-Blooded with 6 HD can heal 3d6 damage per use of this ability.

Damage Reduction 5/Magic

Immunity to Fear Effects (Su): The Berronar-Blooded, along with all allies within 30 ft., are immune to all fear effects. Frightened or Panicked allies who come within 30 ft. of the Berronar-Blooded may attempt their save again to negate condition, with a +2 bonus.

Challenge Rating: +1
Level Adjustment: +1

Abbathor-Blooded
This is an acquired template that can be added to any Dwarf. The greatest Dwarven thieves are usually worshipers of Abbathor. Those who successfully perform a heist against a highly guarded dwarven bank without getting caught, and then sacrifices the gold to Abbathor on his holy day (the day of a solar eclipse) may be blessed by their patron in the form of this template.

Special Attacks: An Abbathor-Blooded has the following special attacks:

Vicious Sneak Attack (Ex): Abbathor-Blooded may sneak attack enemies as a 1st level rogue. This stacks with an actual rogue's sneak attack ability. Additionally, once per day, an Abbathor-Blooded may hamstring an opponent with his sneak attack. This must be made clear before the attack, and if it fails, it is still expended for the day. The foe must make a fortitude save, or have his speed reduced to half for 1d4 hours. The save DC is Dexterity-based.

Death Attack (Ex): An Abbathor-Blooded may, once per day, perform a death attack on a target. To do so, the Abbathor-Blooded must watch his opponent for three rounds, and then make a successful attack against the foe within three rounds afterwards. If the foe has a number of HD equal to the Abbathor-Blooded -1 or lower, it must make a fortitude save, or die instantly. The save DC is Dexterity-based.

Special Qualities: An Abbathor-blooded has the following special qualities:

Damage Reduction 5/Magic

Challenge Rating: +1
Level Adjustment: +1

Muamman-Blooded
This is an acquired template that can be added to any Dwarf. Muamman Duathal, protector of dwarves and god of lightning, is a very gracious god indeed. Every year, a great storm occurs. In the midst of this storm, lightning works as an omen that only the Sonnlinor can read. This omen reveals the name of a great dwarven hero, one who has been a steadfast protector of the dwarven people. If the Sonnlinor find this hero and convince him to undergo a sacred ritual during the three day storm (in which the hero is struck by lightning), the dwarf gains the permanent blessing of Muamman Duathal himself.

Special Attacks: A Muamman-Blooded has the following special attacks:

Lightning Strike (Su): Once per day, a Muamman-Blooded may fire a bolt of lightning at a single target within 10 ft./level. This attack deals 1d6 electric damage per level, and deals half damage to a a number of extra targets equal to the Muamman-Blooded level, provided they are also within the range specified above.

Special Qualities: A Muamman-Blooded has the following special qualities:

Damage Reduction 5/Magic

Protect Other: All allies adjacent to the Muamman-Blooded gain a sacred bonus to their armor class equal to the Muamman-Blooded constitution modifier (minimum +1).

Challenge Rating: +1

Clangeddin-Blooded
This is an acquired template that can be added to any Dwarf. Clangeddin Silverbeard is the god of war for the dwarves, and favors the greatest warriors dwarfkind has to offer. At any one time, Clanggedin has an especially favored warrior, one deemed the most powerful of the world. It is he who is destined to lead the church of Clangeddin, and lead crusades against the goblinoids and giants. When a Clangeddin-Blooded dies, Clangeddin Silverbeard chooses the next most powerful dwarf to continue the legacy of the deceased.

Special Attacks: A Clangeddin-Blooded has the following special attacks:

Smite Racial Foe (Su): Once per day, a Clangeddin-Blooded may smite a creature with either the Giant type or goblinoid subtype. He must announce his intent to smite the creature in advance, and the ability is spent even if he misses. The Clangeddin-Blooded adds a bonus equal to his HD to both attack and damage rolls against the creature.

Special Qualities: A Clangeddin-Blooded has the following special qualities:

Damage Reduction 5/Magic

Inspire Allies (Su): All dwarves within 30 ft. of the Clangeddin-Blooded gain a +2 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls against creatures with the Giant type or Goblinoid subtype.

Challenge Rating: +1

Durgmaren-Blooded
Durgmaren-Blooded is a template that can be added to any Dwarf. Durgmaren Brighthandle, son of Moradin and Berronar Truesilver, is a chaotically optimistic deity, who revels in the discovery of knowledge and inventions. He regularly blesses the greatest minds amongst his followers with many gifts. One such gift is the infusion of his inventive spirit, making them closer to their patron god.

Special Attacks: A Durgarmen-Blooded has the following special attacks:

Confusion (Sp): Once per day, a Durgarmen-Blooded may cast Confusion as an 8th level Bard. The save DC is charisma-based.

Special Qualities: A Durgarmen-Blooded has the following special qualities:

Damage Reduction 5/Magic

Useless Knowledge (Ex): Durgarmen is a collector of knowledge deemed "useless," and Durgarmen-Blooded are no exceptions. This functions as the Bardic Knowledge class feature, except the Durgarmen-Blooded adds its total class level to the check, rather than just its Bard levels.

Dumathoin-Blooded
Dumathoin is an acquired template that can be added to any Dwarf. Dumathoin is the god of mining, one who rarely reveals his presence to his chosen people. Sometimes, however, in dire times, he chooses a dwarven savior to aid his people and protect the secrets of the mountain.

Special Attacks: A Dumathoin-Blooded has the following special attacks:

Command Elemental (Su): Dumathoin-Blooded can command earth elementals as a Cleric of equal level can command undead. Save DC is wisdom-based.

Spike Stones (Sp): Once per day, Dumathoin-Blooded can use Spike Stones as a spell-like ability as if cast by a 7th level druid.

Special Qualities: A Dumathoin-Blooded has the following special qualities:

Damage Reduction 5/Magic

Challenge Rating: +1
Level Adjustment: +1

Muamman-Blooded seems a bit strong to me. A daily 6th level spell at CL 11 that deals a large amount of damage to a large number of creatures (likely ending the encounter) at ECL 2 seems a bit unbalanced.

While it's true that a player eventually outgrows the ability and that it seems unlikely that a Level 1 dwarf would get this ability, it seems a bit better balanced all around if you turn it into a scaling ability (such as a lightning bolt with a range of 10 feet/level that deals 1d6 electricity damage/level before hitting 1 additional target/level for half damage or something like that.)

That is true. I'll modify it to your suggestion. Thanks for the PEACH.

The Abbathor-Blooded ability claims the save DC is "Reflex-based". I assume you meant dexterity based?

do you do god-blooded for other gods as well because i was hoping you could make a god-blooded for erebus(dragon #322)

Yes, it was meant to be Dexterity-based. My mistake.

I didn't have any intention of doing others (this was mainly for the Morndinsamman project over in the Worldbuilding suforum), but why not?

You may have to wait awhile until I have access to the magazines. Is that okay with you?

LOTRfan

So he is similar to his Greek counterpart. Is there any main difference between Erebus's D&D representation and actual myth?

Noxsis

he was based off of the erebus of greek myth so sorta hes evil the but in greek myth he was more netural basicly he was the first thing in an endless void which he reveled in the gods created the matiral plane where the void used to be so he hates the gods and there creations for ruining what was his home so he moved to plane of shadow and is trying to send everything back to nonexsistence. PS dragon 322 focuses on darkness and variations there of
