Hi guys, I just got wind of some rumours that the Giant plans on canceling OOTS - the current comics will stay up, but there will be no more new comics and no more books being sold! :smallfrown:

Let's start a petition to keep it going. It's the most amazing webcomic that has ever graced the Internet, and we need to show our support. Who's with me?

Don't let OOTS die!!

You mean it's true? He's really joining a hippie commune and will never touch a computer again?
I'd never believed it till you confirmed it.

Either you're very gullible, or very bad at tricking people.

You do know what today is, right? Well, yesterday for me.

tbh, my window reflects me pretty well when I look at it (and probably also when I don't, though that was never directly observed)

Of course it's ending, but he's not canceling it. All good stories must end :smallcool:

You had me going "huh?" for a second until I remembered it was April Fool's. Nice try.

I actually read this while preparing an April Fool's prank, so that was what I first thought.

I rate this April Fool's prank 1.0 on a scale of 1 out of 10 because of believability fail. If such an announcement was made by Rich Burlew, it would be a very believable practical joke. If the mods made it, it would be only slightly less believable. A random post in the forum with no backup from news or announcement on the front page? Not even close.

You must train more, young grasshopper :).

Respectfully,

Indeed.
See the current Goblins' update (http://www.goblinscomic.com/).
Thunt himself announced it, and guess how many believed it?

Some time, I would like to see one of these April Fool's Day cancellations actually turn out to be true. Just to really screw with the fanbase.

Now, now, do not be harsh on him.

Why would he ever lie to the forum? Why would the rumours in the wind ever lie to him?

Furthermore, The Burlew hates clichès with such a fiery intensity that even death and taxes do not compare. Should this thread be a fake, it would be the lamest clichè ever. EVER. As such, it cannot and will not be allowed.

Weep, folks, weep, for the OOTS dies on this day.
(the petition that is nowhere to be seen would be ALSO a clichè and therefore is not to be allowed either)

You all owe a serious apology to him as well. :smallcool:

Oddly, I didn't tougth of an april's fool, but I'd rather believed it was someone believing in some odd rumor. Anyway, I didn't believe it for a moment.
As someone else pointed out, it is not believable enough

I noticed posters from Europe and Canada. Is April Fool's Day followed outside the US?

2/10

If you're trying something to pass off a claim as bombastic as this, you need a subtle build up in the days before hand.

Well, yes, it originated in Europe after all... :smalltongue:

What I'd like to see for an April Fools' joke comic, would be for what seems to be a typical update. Not even extreme, or maybe just something where a main character dies. ...or maybe succeeds in some awesome way.

Then the next update (April 2nd, or 4th, or whenever it would normally be) reveals it was all a dream... :-)

I read this and thought, "Ah, crap, what ridiculous rumor has been spreading?" As in, obviously I didn't think I was canceling my own strip, but until I read people's responses, I thought that HE thought that I was canceling the strip.

So, 3/10.

But the thread is still being closed.
