Minecraft troubles

Howdy Playground! Ive just payed for and downloaded Minecraft from here (http://www.minecraft.net/) but ive run into a problem so I thought you guys may have some experience with it seeing as the FAQ didnt cover what I needed.

I have registered, payed for via Paypal and downloaded the launcher but when I signed into the launcher it says Cant connect to minecraft.net and under the try again button it says (Not downloaded).

But I can only find the launcher to download nothing else!

Any help would be great guys, thanks in advance!

The servers are likely overloaded. A new patch just hit. Either wait it out or keep trying, I guess. Oh, and we have a minecraft thread here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=190226), if you need more help. :)

Thanks for the help! I tried searching for a thread but it didnt show, ill give it another go tomorrow!
