How do multipliers interact with +c or +c_1 d c_2?

To my understanding, any multiplier will multiply the +c but not the +c_1 d c_2. I just wanted to check. And I posted something... along these lines on the simple Q&A but ended up having to answer my own question.

You're generally correct, although I think there may be a few exceptions (none of which I can remember off the top of my head).
