I came to an interesting idea about making a Warforged Cleric, but then a few thoughts came to me, who would they worship?

Irregardless of alignment, who would they most likely follow?

Would they just follow whoever they desired, regardless of the fact that they are Warforged?

I'd appreciate an answer based on both schools of thought, particularly who they'd worship BECAUSE they a Warforged.

I open this us to both 3.5 and Pathfinder pantheons since I play in games that use both.

Certainly RAW they could worship whomever, but if you want to play into the race:

A deity of crafting/engineering to emphasize their construct nature
A deity of magic to emphasize their enchantment of existing
A deity of fate, destiny, mysticism, or life to emphasize their ultimate question - Do I have a soul?
A deity of good to emphasize their choice of being who they want to be. Think "The Iron Giant" who chose to be Superman
A deity of war or destruction to emphasize their purpose of creation is to fight

Warforged Cleric,.. who would they worship?

Browsing the Pathfinder SRD and Wiki I've come up with 3 options:

Gorum (http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Gorum) "His clergy claim he was formed from battle itself, a suit of iron armor standing alone on the battlefield once the dust had settled"..."Gorum is considered the divine embodiment of martial prowess, of glory on the battlefield"
Sounds like he was FORGED in WAR to me.

Torag (http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Torag) "The dwarves believe that Torag created the world at his great forge"
Has the Artifice and Earth domains

Droskar (http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Droskar) "He believes that sufficient toil leads to eventual success"..."Originally one of the greatest student smiths of Torag"
Also has the Artifice domain, and is a god of Toil and Slavery, which meshes well with the Eberron flavor of Warforged.

Some Warforged believe in the Godforged, a deity believed to be the one who actually gave them their souls.

Others may worship Durgmaren Brighthandle, the inventor-god of the Morndinsamman (the Dwarf Pantheon). Following that chain of thought, they may follow Nebelun, the Gnomish inventor god of the Lords of the Golden Hills.

Aren't a whole bunch of them all working together to "build" a body for "their" deity over in a hidden forge? Actually, not many worship this deity, but I think there's nice number of them.
Or am I thinking of a homebrew setting?

Anyways, that's one possibility.

The three distinct Warforged options are the Lord of Blades (even though he isn't actually a deity, because Eberron clerical powers come from the faith itself and not from the god, because there isn't any actual proof that any gods exist in Eberron besides the three great dragons themselves.), the Becoming God, who is worshiped by the Godforged, and the Reforged philosophy, which is where they want to become organic creatures. Faiths of Eberron goes into nice detail of all three including major rites and prayers.

This is my new all-time favorite warforged drawing:

Wow, I swear it wasn't anywhere near that big on deviantart. O.o
The url is here (http://endejester.deviantart.com/art/Warforged-Colored-50002087?moodonly=24) if you wanted to look at a version that will fit on your monitor.

Just reposting a picture I found, I think it would make a really good Godforged. I figure a god should be of impressive stature, so I added a real small version of the normal warforged to that quote for size reference, even though the original artist probably figured on it being medium.

This art is not mine, don't sue me. :smalltongue:
