R.587. I was thinking of playing a John Constantine Expy in my mates new 3.5 game. However I'm a 1st edition player so could use some help with it. Starting at 10th level, I was gonna do Mage 5/Rogue 1/some kind of demon summoning class?

The PrC you're looking for is the Malconvoker (Complete Scoundrel). The primary class ability allow you to improve your evil summons by making bluff checks. Also includes some abilities improving calling spells (planar ally and planar binding). Finally this class is available as early as level 6.

Human Rogue 1/Wizard 5/Malconvoker 4

Take the Rogue level first to max out your skills (Gain 4X skill points at first level).

Specialist: Conjuration
Banned Schools: Evocation and Transmutation (Transmutation is a good school, but I can't find any example of Constantine using it. The other option is Enchantment)

Conjurer Alternative Class Feature: Rapid Summoning (Lose Familiar, Unearthed Arcana) Summon as a standard action, not Full Round.

Feats
1: Able Learner (Races of Destiny): Cross Class skills only cost one point.
H: Spell Focus: Conjuration
3: Augment Summoning
6:
Wizard: Spontaneous Divination (Complete Champion): Allows you to cast divination spell spontaneously
9:

The remainder of your feats are open. I would probably invest one in Extend Spell, but the rest is up to you. Here are a few to consider.

Combat Panache or Wanderer’s Diplomacy: Both are found in Player's Handbook II and offer some interesting tricks you can do with your social skills (Bluff/Diplomacy).
Obtain Familiar (Complete Mage) and Improved Familiar: Gain an Imp as a permanent companion. Lots of cool tricks with this combo.
Summon Elemental (Complete Mage) The ability to spontaneously summon something as a standard action. Useful as a trap monkey, flank buddy, and a potential polymorph target. Your DM may allow you to refluff this into a Demon.
Investigate (Eberron Campaign Setting): Normally junk, but fits your character concept. Talk to your DM first to see if this will be of any use.
