In the campaign im in right now im playing a rogue and want to start a thieves guild. so ive been trying to find any rules on making a guild and how to go about doing it and could use some good information

Dmg2 and cityscape has good info on running guildish games.

Leadership goes without saying. You WILL want people who can be eyes and ears in the city. Experts and commoners excel at that. Obviously, the cohort needs to excel where you lack. You are a city rogue, your cohort should be the killer rogue or a wizard. Heck cleric of rogue god here works too.

If the party will be involved, delegate.

I'm not sure about creating a new guild, but Cityscape has guild information on pages 84-92.

There's a 3rd party book called Guildcraft that may be useful if you can a)locate it and b)get it allowed at your table.
