*Aherm* Alright, so I'm an avid gamer. I love fighters. I'm not a huge fan of a simple beat 'em up game (which is why I like the complexity of Dungeon & Fighter), but I do happen to be semi-familiar with Streets of Rage, which brings me to THIS. (http://www.bombergames.net/sorr_project/)

There is a man, who has worked on a fan "remake" for eight years. Yes, eight years, and has created a total of (brace yourself) 103 levels, 19 playable characters, 64 enemies, 40 cut-scenes, 8 endings, 76 music tracks, and 30 configurable options. It's beautiful, and there is not one bit of code taken from the Mega Drive title. And all sound effects, music, grunts, etc. (even ambient noise, which the original lacked,) are brand new, aside from sampling here and there. The soundtrack is remixed, and in OGG format, and if you feel it necessary, the soundtrack is also availble. If this counts as a remake, (and I think it counts as several new SoR games over again!) then it's one heckuva game. Now go play it. The link's up there, and it's also right here. Note that this contains every level from the first three titles, as well as 41 new ones. That's devotion. And a lot of playtime.

Go kick some arse.

Oh man... I forgot about this. I was meaning to check it back then. Yeah, this is beyond amazing. And the first street of rage was my very first sega genesis cartridge!
