Hello new members and welcome to the order of the yellow blade, as I'm sure Simon on the sign up desk has told you our needs, lately trade routes have been interrupted and we need six of you to do what you can to find the cause, there is also the local quests that can be done to help us with funding.

You look around the room, there is the stairs leading to the dorms, a bar and a social area, at one of the tables you see two men talking, at an other you see a party of four talking amongst themselves while at another you see a man and a woman enjoying the evening, the atmosphere is very warming to all inside, the lamps give the area a cosy orange illumination and the air is rich with the smell of ale.

A notice board has a list of members pinned to it.

Shiv walks into the lounge area, fixing his vest and trousers, a little nervous to be meeting new people, and of questionable occupation. Seeing all the others pre-occupied. The elementalist heads to the bar first following his nose to the scent of ale. He takes a seat at the bar, and asks for a drink, "Whatever's good." He closes his eyes for a moment, opening his senses to the elements only briefly feeling the air, the smoke, the scent of ale. Then turns to the man named James, "So what can you tell me about this order of the yellow blade besides your devotion to trade routes."

"Well we were a royally funded group, until a few years back when they decided to cut our funding due to shortages, since then we have had to earn our funds from local quests, most of our equipment is made in the house Schwartz forge and food supplies from the farms in the east highlands, however they have dried up after the attacks, meaning we are in dire need of support, I would recommend getting to know Finn, he will in command of the operation and it would be wise to be on good ground with him, along with him you will be working with Daniel, Alice and Odin."

Palming his ale, Shiv smiles at James, and nods. He takes his drink and walks to the group of four gathered at the table. Odds are high they either are the group or someone in the group is among those seated so he introduces himself. "Hello, I am Shiv. I've volunteered to help with the supply route disruptions. Do any of you happen to be Finn or one of those working with him?" The introduction is accompanied with a weak smile. Shiv takes a few sips of ale to help steady his nerves.

One of them looks up "Finn is on the other table, talking to his brother, can I help you with anything? I'm Ben by the way."

"Well, may I take a seat?" Shiv pulls a chair out to join the crowded table. "I have just volunteered to help sort out the problems on the trade routes. James suggested I get to know the group with which I would be traveling. I don't believe he mentioned your name, Ben, but if you all work together often... well, you might be a better person to ask about the road investigation group."

"Sure, if you have any questions, just ask, I'm always happy to inform new members."

Shiv drank some more ale and thought for a second. "Well, just the general things. Do you think they make a good team? Are there any topics I shouldn't discuss with any of them? Are there any habits they possess I should be aware of? For example, is there anything that would make a good first impression, or is there something each of them likes to take charge of in which I should let them lead?" The elementalist spun his hands a little as he spoke becoming more relaxed with every sip of ale.

Astra walks into the room, looking for company she sits next to Shiv Hi, sorry if I interupted anything.

"Well if your interested in keeping on the goodside of Finn, you also need to keep on the good side of his brother, Daniel, those two are pretty close, then we have Alice, as luck would have she is sister to Daniel and Finn, think they all joined up about a few months ago after a few family problems, Finn isn't so close to her, but I would still keep on her good side, lastly there is Odin, he's fast, stealthy and still good in fight, unlike most of these rogues, who can't throw a rock with enough power to brake a glass, ha, anyway, they are a good team, Daniel holding the front, Finn giving the healing and the rogue and the duskblade hitting hard from the shadows, you seem like the kind of guy who they would like, and you've got the offensive magic, something they lack."

The elementalist rises from his seat briefly as the lady comes to join the table. He sits back down shortly after she does. He responds to her first, "Ah, my name is Shiv, I'm volunteering to help with the road blockages." He extends a hand bearing a signet ring engraved with a triangular symbol. "Ben, here, was just about to tell me about the group with whom I will be investigating." He listens politely as Ben very thoroughly answer his questions. A smile shows up at the suggestion that he would mesh well with the others, but a shadow creeps in about the magic comment. "I am not an incredible offensive caster, I have some control over the fire element. Ah , yes, I also have some old wands which may help. Actually, my elemental affinity favors more the practice of divination. Though current situation seems to prove otherwise." A somewhat sheepish grin overtakes Shiv's face. "I chose this table because four of you were sitting here, and out of the eight members of your order I figured, since I would be traveling with four, I would have better than average chances that one of you would be one of them. Yet, as you pointed out, Finn is sitting over there with with his brother Daniel. I am also to guess that the man laughing with that young lady is Odin, speaking with Alice. I guess luck and divination are two entirely different forces."

"Yeah, sounds like you are right there, guess your magic still works for some of the time, still if you wish to talk to the others you are welcome to, I would hate to waste your time, oh and one last thing, it would be wise to write your equipment down on the board over there, it would make the leaders happy."

[Nidogg]

Silas walks over to the bar.
Give me a drink, somthing so strong it will curdle paint. first real job in ages. He sits down and turns to james
So, where are we headed and who is going to have my years of experience behind them?

"Ah welcome, we will be heading into the lowlands in the morning, in fact we are glad to have all these new recruits after our most experienced member left about a month ago, but as for our best now, I would try Finn, he is leading this operation, he's a hard man to please but when you do he is a strong and faithful friend."

[Elrihm]

After some time has passed, the door opens again, admitting in a thin, sickly person, wearing a grey cloak with the hood pulled low, a tunic emblazoned with a burning skull, and a heavy crossbow slung across his back. When the hood is thrown back after a quick glance around, it reveals a human of an undeterminable age, bald, with black tattoos running across his body in stylized characters, depicting the laws of the universe, and how, if one fully understood, they could be changed.

"I am looking for a man, James", the voice was quiet, and unexpectedly deep for such a frail man, "I have joined the yellow blades in their hunt."

"Hello there sir, over here... so what do you want to know."

[paladinlady]

My equipment mostly consists of my longsword, iron shield and scale mail, also couldn't help but see that you have a member crossed off the list, tell me more about Rho.

[Elrihm]

"Just reporting in, as per my orders." with that, the wizard moves over to the chalkboard, and rights down Morticar Drekthai, 1 dagger, 1 heavy crossbow, 20 bolts, spell component pouch, adventurer's kit.

With that, Mort pulls out a mug attached to his pack, and pours a thick brew into it. After a few muttered phrases Mort, apparently satisfied, drinks.

"To answer the lady's question, Rho was our most experienced member, infact his was our second in command, he was a good fighter but one day I think he and Finn got into a argument, the next day he just got up and left, saying that he could learn more alone and that most of the people here are spiteful idiots." There is silence for a few seconds when slam of the door as another man, dressed in black plate mail walks in "I see, this place is just as I expected, hmm, hardly like the forge barracks."

Shiv walked back into the bar finshing his ale as the black armored knight moved into the room and began speaking. The elementalist slunk back to the table with Ben and the female knight. In a low whipser he asked, "Who is the scary looking night? Should I introduce myself?" Nervous again, Shiv looks at the others, and he will try to copy any action that seems correct.

[Elrihm]

Walking over to the table shared by Shiv and the others, Mort sets down his drink, and his quiet voice says, "Is this man going to be trouble? Who is he, and how should we greet him?"

James whispers "This guy is from the house schwartz forge, one of our major suppliers, after the trade shut down, well it seems like they sent us some help."

[El_Pablo]

"Ah..." Shiv stands up slowly from the table and walks over to the armored man. "I am a new recruit volunteering to help with the trade route solution. I was about to go introduce myself to the man in charge of that expedition. Would you like to join me?"

The idea of walking around with a man in full plate made him feel slightly more comfortable speaking to his new commander. "One of you is Finn, right?" He asks coming to the table with two men. "I am Shiv, I've volunteered to help you with the trade issues."

[FentonLyebread]

Erithian walks in and sits at the bar. He smells the air for food. He asks the bartender, "Hey! Ya got any barbecue? And bring me a glass-o'-Jack Daniel's if ya got it. If not just bring some brandy." He turns to Astra and asks, "Soo... You come here often?"

Actually... I'm sorry to say, but I just can't make my mind up. NOW, I think I'll play a half-elven fighter.

[FentonLyebread]

He says, "My equipment consists mostly of Scale Mail, my greatsword, and a light crossbow, among other pieces of minor equipment. Also, before I left home to become an adventurer, my parents, wizards in their own right, gave me a bottle of homemade Alchemist's Fire."

Finn looks up "Yes, ok, what do you want to..." His eyes quickly dart to the man in armour "...oh, hello..." he stands up and draws his mace "Remember what I told you, Epsilon?"

[El_Pablo]

Watching Finn rise, Shiv backs away toward the bar his eyes widening. He sincerely hopes he did not just start a fight. "Um..."

[FentonLyebread]

Erithian slams another shot. "...wait... Who's Elipson?

[Elrihm]

"Oh crap", Mort mumbles, drains his drink, and reattaches the goblet to his belt.

"Epsilon is an old 'acquaintance' of mine, him and his ship nearly killed my entire group back before I joined up here." He takes a swing at Epsilon, smashing a hole through his armour and nearly knocking him to the floor "Come on rookies, do something for a change and help, instead of just sitting there like passive animals." Epsilon looks up "HE just attacked me for no reason what so ever apart from a grudge, if you should help anyone it should be me."

[Elrihm]

"Perhaps we can hear more about this man before judgement is rendered, and should he prove traitorous, be offered up to Wee Jas for his crimes."

Mort's loosens some hemp rope on his pack, and throws it over the man. After muttering a few arcane phrases, and pressing his palms together, the rope attempts to bind the man, via the Animate Rope spell.

woah woah! no need to draw weapons or start spell slinging just yet, just everybody calm down...
Anyone looking extremly closly at silas would have noticed him lay his hand on his dagger, concealed in his shirt.

[FentonLyebread]

*pulls out a wine bottle and breaks on table* "Just... TELL ME WHOS SIDE I'M ON!" He looks desperately at Finn... seemingly on his side.

Mine, lets just leave, and If it gets to it we can come back and have as much fun as we want,but this is not getting our job done, we could ask around and see if theres any clues to the bandits wehereabouts, whadda say?
