Well, that's one of the character builds I designed for a campaign I never played in, and, looking back, I'm regretting not being able to play it.

However, I'm wondering if the +6 LA is more of a detriment than otherwise.

Any advice, comments, criticisms, etc.?

Well, +6 LA is virtually never worth it. You'll never catch up in HP and likely not in saves either, but you'll have a lot of immunities and special defenses. This means you will tend to be very "binary" - either things are a cakewalk, or you just plain die. And given that most DMs won't let everything be a cakewalk, that death is coming for you sooner rather than later.

Possibly worth it in a high level gestalt game where you can have all of the LA in one column. Or if everyone else in the party gets a similar amount of LA.

If you play with the LA Buyoff variant rules, you can have all +6 of that LA removed by level 20, which you're at.

Though, depending on whether you're at level 20 exactly, or with some free xp... you might be lvl 19. Still a boost.

You can buy off your first level adjustment at ECL 28 making you ECL 27. You can buy off your second level adjustment at ECL 42 making you ECL 41. You can buy off your third level adjustment at ECL 53 making you ECL 52. You can buy off your fourth level adjustment at ECL 61 making you ECL 60. You can buy off your fifth level adjustment at ECL 66 making you ECL 65. You can buy off your sixth and final level adjustment at ECL 68 making you ECL 67.

How do you figure? I read the buyoffs taking place at ECL 18, 27, 34, 40, 44, and 42. Still impossibly far along, but not as far as you wrote. I don't think you buy off racial hit dice with LA buyoff (and anyway, there aren't any racial hit dice listed on his character sheet).

It's a grave-touched ghoul from book of bad latin, so that's where 2 of the 6 LA come from with no racial HD.
