We were recently assigned this story for my English class, and I found it pretty fascinating. (http://archive.ncsa.illinois.edu/prajlich/forster.html)

It was written in 1909, and well, just read it to find out how much it got right (the Internet, television, videoconferencing). It reads a lot like some sort of modern sci-fi/steampunk/cyberpunk story written in an archaic form.

Besides E.M. Forester being psychic, it's also an excellent story, so give it a read.

I'll read later, but yeah, those stories are fun.

Interestingly, I have read that story before but failed to recall the title.

Ah, yes. I've read this many times. For 1909, it's remarkably foresighted, although we do not yet worship the internet.
