That's cool. I have the old Dungeoneer and Blacksand! books on my shelf.

That link doesn't appear to work. This one does. (http://shop.cubicle7store.com/epages/es113347.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es113347_shop/Products/CB77001)

The thought of revised rules kind of scares me. Whill Skill, Stamina and Luck still be the driving force of the game? Or will they be buried under a ton of irrelevant stuff that was put there just for rules lawyers?

Whill Skill, Stamina and Luck still be the driving force of the game?from the comments of Graham Bottley on rpg.net, they kept the basic system and just fixed a few things that were wonky: chargen isn't random anymore (no more double penalty for the unlucky one who rolled poorly for SKILL), the magic system is fixed (no more abusing the stamina spell after each fight) and they revised (read: wrote completely new ones) rules for shields and armors.
(plus a few other things, but the author didn't really give us enough details to recreate the book from the leaks)

You're right, the whole appeal of the ruleset was its simplicity and minimalism. I can certainly immagine them putting extra stuff in it so it looks more like "the big boys" such as D&D or WoD, but that would be a bad move. I've read they are adding talents (I think you should compare this to feats in D&D or merits in WoD) and changing a few things about how combat works in relation to armour etc, but that they've tried to keep things as compatable to the old game as possible.

If the game ends up being "like D&D 3.5 but different", I'll be really disappointed. (Not that I don't like D&D 3.5, but if I wanted to play it, I would do so and not buy a lesser known game which as a design philosophy tries to copy that)...

Still not half as excited as me!! But then i wrote it.....

I have made sure that it is, in essence, the same game. We revamped Priests to make them distinct from Wizards, added Sorcery in (from the Sorcery gamebooks), put in armour rules, as noted made Hero creation more balanced, and added in talents. These are minor special abilities, that give you excellent vision, a smooth tongue, slight bonus to damage, the ability to avoid damage without armour, avoid spell failure rolls in certain circumstances. They are useful, but not overwhelming.

That sounds awesome. Thanks! Can you tell me whether there will be a character sheet of some sorts in the book? (Even though it is little to keep track off, still stats are stats.)

There, pre-ordered my copy through Amazon.:smallwink:

That looks awesome!

And call me weird, but when it comes to previews on RPGs, the thing I most want to see is always the character sheet. That's going to be your point of contact during play, so I always like to get a look at the thing that will be in front of me the most.
