Arena Tournament, Round 103: Guy with a Scythe vs. Stuxnet

The outer Arena walls for this map are 30 ft high, with a Climb DC of 30.
Unattended lightsources are extinguished at the end of each players turn. Spells count as attended if they have Duration: Concentration or target you/carried equipment.

XP Award: 300 XP

All Combatants, please roll initiative and declare final purchases, if any. Remember that this is a single elimination Endurance tournament; all damage and effects carry over, with one hour between matches.

Your sun rod has a duration of 6 hours, so yes still lit - 1hour on its duration.

Is it ok to buy and drink potion bettween matches.. I mean we have an hour.

Considering a ring of sustenance has a week attunment period and you then get a nights rest (your char lvl in hp recovery) in 2 hours.

It would be worthless for an hour long break though I like where your heads at :smallamused:

You can't take any actions during the break that you couldn't normally take before a match. No drinking potions or casting spells, although mundane preparations such as lighting lanterns and the like are valid.

Yea there will be reactionary buys I just need to have time to do it. I have work tomorrow (and I am crashing now) so I will post after work around 3-4 (hopefully)

you can't hold an item in your belt. It would be in your backpack/pockets, blocking LoE and so giving no light

Stuxnet is in Y11, sunrod in mouth, shield equipped and two alchemist fires and a potion in hand

sure that works. With the illumination there is LoS between you two, so just post your turn openly unless you leave LoS

Move to g-11 then south out of LOS
Swift activate Law Devotion ---> ac


move to g-13

Free move potions to mouth, and move sun rod to mouth, switch to proper two handed grip on scythe.
Drink the potion -

just a note, but based on my looking at the map I should have los into G12 if you went through there which direction did you move from there? not gonna affect this turn, but would like to know.

sigh, now is he bettween the two candled areas, or is that just his light hitting it, he went south before, so he might be coming out around k17, if thats that case not going down there since a simple ready action could have him next to me. ima go with this theory, makes sense with the light coming from that direction would light up the blocks.

move to Q11 and see if we see him down there.

my apologies, I misplaced something on the map. LoS established on Guy turn 2 when he enters L11. Stuxnet is in T15. Guy can revise rest of his turn

soo readying actions are we, can't be a charge.. you've got no ranged attacks out that i can see you cant expect me to enter close range with that deadly scythe.. that leaves a move action triggered by something.. or else throwing of the sun rod(which seems counter productive) only problem is what triggers it. if your defensive itl be an attack, if your being passive agressive it will be moveing to stay in sight of me. now shooting through cover isnt stux's forte so lets reposition and see if you follow.

Well playing with wording is one of my better chances at this point, trigger is leaving los from what I see,which if I look at the map is not when im in T15, so no aoo for leaving threatened square thank gosh, you do see stux move to Y15 and north out of sight again though.

Il double check in the morning, drawing lines in paint and what not. But from quick square corner counts it looks like U15 moving east is where you lose los.

doesn't look like there's LoS between M12 and U15. Best you can get is a -1/2 x line from the T15/U16 corner, which would touch the corners of the ice blocks in P14 and S14. That is enough to break LoS(PHB I p. 139). So the readied is triggered when Stuxnet tries to leave T15 to the east. He moves to S15 and gets an AoO unless I missed something

Apologies a game I am in has gotten me in the habit of just rolling a d20 then adding the modifiers... So yup I will....

Now all I need to do is pray to the god of dice that he does not roll a 10 or above.
