Red Zephyr

Welcome to the 'Red Zephyr' the revamped Spelljammer-class cruiser formerly known as the 'Azure Zephyr'. The now white, red swirled and sails are mostly ornamental and an ode to Allie's original ship the Red Tornado.
The sides of this standard spelljammer are also white themed iron with the classic red swirled 'wind. The artistic red swirls are applied by wizards, but under Zhako's specific supervision and design {when he is not entertaining... er uhm... painting for the Empress}. The professional artist-- Zhako, is world famous, and it seems that Arrianna is a little jealous that Allie has him all to herself. The design of this ship looks exactly as an imperial cruiser only much, much larger.
There are 5 masts, which apparently have newly built defense and offensive capabilities. Olrik's new tinker gnome friends will be the first to help point things out to any who ask.

The Captain's Cabin region as usual is to the rear of this cabin. Everything including the specialist bunks below are larger than the old cruiser ships. The sleeker design, and larger frame of the metal ship lends to more room, with less crew needed to run the whole thing.

The lower regions of the ship (rear-Hold) are arranged so that 'specialists' are separated from the crew's main bunk-room and into small sleeping chambers, enough for gear, and a small padded bunk to stretch out on. Your things should be safe here.

'Officers or Nobles' receive special, slightly larger quarters.
Arha, Raven, Olrik each have their own room.
Zhako, Aust, and Bruug opted for specialist bunks in lower regions of the ship.
Dani and her lover, Alexis share Dani's sister's former room.
Calli, another important ship officer, and unwitting dragonlord, share the captain's bed as lover and confidant. Merie, an original 'mate' from the Red Tornado, sleep's in the nearby captain's lounge.... most of the time.
3 tinker gnomes share one of these officer's rooms.

Olmeric the cook and Zhako the artist are the only two crew to have served now on every ship of Allie's. {Merie to a lesser degree... apparently she was killed at some point... and came back!}

The Day the White-King Left:
Considering how subtle the White-King arrived upon the ship, in the cover of night and in disguise. His departure is most dramatic, and begins when he is awakened by a furious knock at Arha's door. It is his human-appearing wizard-mate, the dragon in disguise, who had yet to introduce himself.

The dragonknight-king wasn't happy to be awakened, and likely Arha isn't. Never before had she felt so alive, and powerful... filled with the magic and might of the White-King. She knew it would only last so long.

"What is it?!" The old king said at Arha's side, holding the much smaller nude form in his strong arms. These rooms were designed for environmental controls, so they were likely quite cozy.

From the other side Arha heard the voice of the young white-haired man, with strangely crystalline blue eyes. The man whom she knew was truly a great wyrm of a white dragon, even with his fear-presence turned off it could be sensed when he was in the room with you. Instinctively, you knew to be wary and respectful of him. Arha isn't even sure she'd heard the man's voice before, but the slight-draconic accent was unmistakable, since so often they make they same translation errors. "It is time." The voice says from the other side of Arha's door.

The White-King will look to Arha, and then to the door. His eyes grave and serious. He sighs, "I must go... please... Visit me. Sometime. When you are... content." He will kiss her one last time, most passionately and then... Moments later he is in his dragonscale suit, merely by activating his fancy signet ring on him. Arha may impressed by this sudden dressing. He will race to the captain's quarters where Allie, Calli, and Merie are getting breakfast served to them. The White-King states he has no time to eat.

When Allie wants an explanation, he is finalizing ship's business. He and the empress's wizards are signing final contracts for payment, the White-King will state simple. "My dear grand-niece. I may be a rich fop. But, I am protector of my people. The War has been coming for some time."

The Empress Arrianna who has been a guest of the ship is confined to the ship by her archmages, not allowed off for her protection. The White-King will speak for them. "Dearest Empress. Too many will come for you. This great... vessel will be your home. And these warriors your protectors." The White-King is dramatic when he leaves, as he motions to those on the main deck gathered to see his departure. The archmages bow to the empress and leave teleporting away, and slowly all the tinker gnomes and magical-workers will leave.

The White-King last of all nods to his white-dragon-'wizard'-friend, who then leaps into the air and transforms into the most magnificent creature many of you have ever seen. The colossal white dragon's sheer presence is awesome, even with the fear-power turned off. The dragon's scales have lost the white glare color, most of you associate with white-dragons, this one's scales are now pale blue and gray swirled with some whiteness mixed in.

Grabbing onto the tail as the great white wyrm flies away, the white-king waves to you all climbing onto the massive thing's back quite athletically for one in his 80's. There is a human-sized harness on it's back, which appears tiny when comparing human-size to the colossal wyrm leaping away from the ship. "Au revoir, Arha. It was enchanting!!!" He calls out as he and the dragon fly toward the West.

There will only be the officers, specialists, and crew of the Zephyr left. As well as the 3 new tinker gnomes and the shocked empress who is surrounded by the bearded geniuses standing at her side. The tinker gnomes smile at the grand empress, she sighs, and looks to Allie.
"I guess my lot is cast completely with you. "

Allie looks to her.
"My Empress? To Kandor? I think we can get there like... now. If we want." She looks to the rest of you and the crew.

Calli is a 3'1" hobbit/halfling. She has dark brown hair, just past her lower back; green eyes; tanned white skin. She is quick-witted and almost always cheerful, but not overly optimistic.

She wears a beautiful set of Emerald Green Dragonscale armor.

Calli is very impressed with the new ship.

When it's time for the White King to leave, Calli looks to the Empress, slightly confused. Empress Arrianna, Not trying to be disrespectful, but you don't look like you need our protection. You seem so powerful all by yourself.

Arha

Arha doesn't come out to see the White-King leave. She's irritated, restless, annoyed and various other emotions are all flitting through her mind and she can't seem to settle on any one thing. Sometimes she's out on deck, just looking out to sea.

Arha is a wizardess, she is 5ft 7in with pale skin and dark red hair. She has scars on her arms and legs. She always wears black, usually a low cut dress with a slit up one side to show her legs. She has several bracelets on one slim wrist and it's obvious she has a high opinion of herself.

Raven

The itinerant Raven settles into his own routine on the Zephyr of workouts, study, and reflection. Just about the time he gets settled in, the ship is on its way to the next sortie, though what exactly it was he hadn't heard.

Milraven "Raven" Els was a man of many aspects, and that was before one accounted for the many lifetimes of former selves rattling around in his head. A husband, father, warrior, scholar, vintner, businessman, duskblade, and member of an eternal order. He was known to some as the maker of quality wines from the region around Sunhaven and to others as the one-time wielder of the Hammer of Thor. To others, he was nothing more than the fleeting human husband of the good drow princess and daughter of Eilistraee, Illanee. Unconcerned with how others defined or described him, Raven was keen since childhood to follow his own path.

Raven stands six-foot-three with broad shoulders and an almost impossibly muscled physique. His shoulder-length, straight, blue-black hair is tied back in a black leather thong. He has brilliant emerald green eyes and an attractive face, marred by a thin gash running from chin to hairline, an old scar. His black leather jumpsuit leaves little to the imagination, though his shimmery green/blue/black robe makes at least makes such views fleeting rather than constant. The greatsword he carries across his back is simple, but well-made, and a careful observer will note a few eclectic tokens, referencing such different powers as Thor, Bahamut, Eilistraee, and even the Gith adorning the big man's outfit.

Though few caught a glimpse of it, Raven did have a large magical tattoo across his chest, a colorful jade phoenix that covered his entire torso, the wings of the phoenix outstretched and extending down each arm.

Bruug

The large, blue-skinned humanoid known as Bruug stands protectively near the Empress. He wears his polished full-plate, sans helmet, along with a gigantic, ornate greatsword strapped to his back. Standing a little over 8 feet, his long, silver hair hangs loose, whipping about in the wind from the dragon's departure. Deep purple eyes rarely leave the Empress, even with the dragon's awesome presence nearby.

Hearing the Captain's statement, he looks at the Empress, then back at Allie, remaining silent until Arianne decides.

Dani

Dani is a short, vivacious redhead who goes around the ship wearing rather less than most of the women on board. Her scooped top and short skirt providing 'morale boosting' to the crew. She stands close to her lover, the blonde paladin Alexis, as she Empress speaks, and tries to give the beautiful woman an encouraging smile.

Olrik is not particulary handsome, he bears a number of battle wounds, a stern countence and a small goatee and moustache. He has deep furrowed brows and a slightly tanned skin tone. His hair is partially cut with various tatoos intermingled across his scalp and further tatooes on his right forearm and left leg. Those that pay attention might notice the tattoos occasionally move and that he has an unusual mark on his forehead. He wears the remnants of the breathing gear from the parties visit to the Ogre City as well as a fancy new cape and some other new magical trinkets.

"If we have the required fuel that we had intended to claim from the giants then I would say we head straight for Kandor. If however we are still low on it I would strongly advise that we first head towards the giant lands as this ship is one of our most powerful assets and we would do well to keep it fully maintained."

Arrianna laughs at Calli in her emerald dragonscale, "In truth, it is the protection of the Zephyr that I am to be given. But, I cannot always count on myself. When I became an archduchess, I gained my first wizard-guardians.

I will need sleep, and I doubt Admiral Allie plans to scuttle this craft in hiding. There is a lot my charms have no effect upon. Against Aust or the Great lich-king, I am... I am a joke." She blushes, very un-noble-like.
Arrianna leans into the mighty Bruug for strength, and looks lovingly at him. She seems entranced by the Irda, and this is the first time that many of you will see this affection from the Empress.

Arrianna will get strength from Bruug, but will try not to be too informal, it is clear there is some sort of bond between the two. Arha will think Bruug is enchanted, but with Arrianna radiating so much magic, she would need to discern more carefully what is going on there magically.

Allie looks at Olrik and laughs, "Fuel? We don't need fuel with the core now. It charges in the sun! If you are ready my friend! Let's go say hello to a true Darklord!!!" Allie seems possessed, and the pretty empress in her fancy glowing dress suddenly seems to take a backseat to the command as Allie climbs up into the sails.
Even Merie backs out of the way as Allie swings up, Merie looks surprised.

"Captain Merie to the control deck! I want to see Kandor with my OWN eyes when we appear!!!" She calls from the sails above.

Unless anyone objects, it appears the crew is leaping to positions. Many had gathered on the deck to see the White-King leave. He was famous, and they knew there was a dragon. Merie runs to the control deck, still ranked as active Captain. Arrianna looks passively up at Bruug ignoring the activity around her. She will leans back into Bruug and put her arms back and up, her hands affectionately around his neck.

Allie screams down, "Bruug!!! Get that Empress below decks!!! If Kandor finds out we got her, we got a whole lot more trouble on our hands, than just the King and his slaves."

Somewhere at Sea:
With no one objecting it seems Olrik has pushed things onward!

Merie being the lead expert of the ship will want to run many checks and diagnostics to make sure everything is working. The tinker gnomes insist everything is great, but with a flurry of moving sails, flaps, guns, shutters, and other pieces of the hidden ship moving out, all is tested in about an hour.
Calli's time in the game-room will be interrupted as it is opened, power is clicked on and off. Allie will invite her to sit in the crowsnest.

At this time, Allie is smoking some fine smelling herbal-cigarette in the crowsnest, likely with Calli if she wants to partake in the stanky weed. Excitedly, once cued Allie screams out loudly, "Kandor City!!! HERE! WE!! GO!!!!" She points dramatically expecting to go immediately.

Merie peering out from the control room is relaying Allie-orders to her pilot and other bridge-crew inside. "Uhm... where exactly?"

"Let's bomb the port. I think we can destroy some of the king's warships just to piss him off."

"I believe... we will attempt to arrive in peace."

"Peace. Smeesh! I doubt it. He'll know I'm up to something. He saw me in the dungeon... I remember that much. Arha! Olrik! And all of you prepare yourself. I have no idea what will happen. I know he has his own bevy of wizards."

Merie shouts into the control-room. "To the Main Docks! I want to appear right outside the main dock-gate. Only above it!"

All of you will have time to put up defenses, and these are the captain's orders. You will have a minute or so, as Merie powers in the coordinates.

Port of Kandor City
There is a gray flash with some yellowish lighting as the junk strewn Astral races by your vision for a couple minutes. You will see strange beasts, but move so rapidly it will be hard to discern some of the horror-inspiring denizens of the non-material worlds.

Moments before you appear there is a red flash of light all over, even Bruug and Arrianna in discussion below decks will be disturbed, by the ruckus.

You will pull out of 'hyper-space' a little early. And when you appear you will be out at sea looking at the shoreline. There is a horrible war of magic that occurs over a city of towers, coliseums, and many, many homes.

Merie will be shouting as all of you will be discovering the terror that is occurring before you. "There here!!! They've already come!!!!!"

Allie is silent as she looks up. Likely all of you were looking up. There was a massive vortex. A swirling mass of darkness and the inky indigo blackness beyond. There, unleashing its abyssal monsters onto the city below, was an epic-colossal portal straight from the demonic lower planes.

The three gnomes gather around a meter that one of them has, the one with the meter shrugs. "Ah, only class-5 vortex. Maybe only one demon-duke. Perhaps two. Zephyr fine." He speaks in dwarf to his fellows and Olrik. The tinker gnomes nod.

In the distance souls or bodies flew up from the extravagant coastal city that resided on this coast. Allie doesn't know what to do, and can't take her eyes from the swirling vortex over the whole city.

The Zephyr is some miles from the shore-line, but this site can be seen nonetheless. The red-alert flashing is getting more extreme. Merie shouts, "We've been detected by demons!"

"I thought this ship was undetectable!!" Percy can be heard screaming out of the control room.

Bruug is likely the only one not on the main deck, and even now Arrianna will urge him. "You should go. Allie is right. I endanger you if the wizards find out I am here."

Allie gasps, "I don't care if those people are Kandorians... we must save them..." she is almost weeping, but trying to stay strong as she is high and in the crowsnest standing. With the ghostly forms being sucked into the sky like a storm, it is straight out of a nightmare, and storm-clouds darken the whole land, even where you all are miles out at sea.

Dani, standing and having a conversation with one of the gnomes, stares at the vortex - then at Captian Allie. "We'll help them, but we need you to take command!" she shouts, trying to snap the captain out of her shock, even as she sets about manifesting her psionic shielding!

Bruug appears on deck, shortly after the alarm begins going off. He wears his usual full plate, along with a black cape that falls to his knees, bordered in silver sigils. He holds his greatsword in one hand. The sword glows with a faint white light, and the hilt ends in a perfect crystal sphere.

Seeing the vortex, Bruug stops dead in his tracks at the top of the stairs. His look of astonishment slowly morphs into one of anger, then rage. Hearing the shout about their detection, the Irda begins scanning the surrounding skies, looking for targets.

Above the vortex is so big, it seems to move slowly, but as the souls get whipped up in the winds, you will see how powerful it truly is.

Allie snaps out of it and looks as Bruug emerges. "Wow. That is impressive. We can't lose now." She nods thanks to Dani and Calli, then everyone looking in horror at the scene and herself. "Well, my idea. Is we kick some demon ass. If we're lucky... maybe they took the noble family. I'm betting not.

Battle Stations!!!
Don't go far from the ship, specialists! We're going in! And if we're gonna retreat. I think you got maybe 10 seconds to get back on-board."

You will all have had plenty of time to prep with the commands and warnings you've been given.

There are many gun stations, and defenses that crew run to. This is a regular battleship, and will wade quite brutally directly into thousands of demons.

{OOC- I doubt we can run this whole battle on the boards round for round. It is too big, too many demons. But, you are in luck. I have run many large scale battles in my day. What I will need from you is your PC-tactics or even ship suggestions. This battle will be a long one, so casters may use up their powers.

The Zephyr is a gunship, and will whittle away at the demons, drawing many attacks. You are aided mostly by scores of blue-robed wizards of various races, flying about the sky, most of them getting slaughtered.
On the ground are some army and navy military forces, these guys provide little aid against the demons as even their souls get sucked skyward.
The Zephyr will hyperjump into the battle, and begin blasting. Go ahead and plan your attacks, I will do my best to incorporate them into the overall battle. Depending on results, I may pause at certain points if there are major changes. There is a variety of lesser demons, but none as weak as the demons of the ogre-sewers. All these can fly.}

Allie mutters to Calli, "I see those nosy blue wizards. But, I see none of the King's."

Olrik will direct the gnomes to the gunnery stations, they look likely to know their way around such a device. He will generally avoid wasting his energy upon the enemy. He could likely burn through all his reserves very quickly and be left powerless for the rest of the day. He will instead watch the manner in which the guns are operated so he might be able to use them another time. Once the ship reaches closer quarters he activates his gaze of the basilisk and spends the next minute or so (13 rounds) glaring at dangerous looking demons one after the other (DC 24 fort save or be turned to stone permanently).

The duskblade seems to take charge of repelling boarders and low-flying attackers. Though he looks like a hulking brute, he moves about with surprising mobility. Raven readies himself to leap, dart, and fly about. Shadows swirl about him as he moves.

Hp. 99 AC 42 Child of Shadow Stance
Raven's combat is surprisingly hard to summarize. Obviously, his main deal will be leaping around mega-power attacking. Those actually get more damaging as he strings them together. He has concealment any turn he's moving. But he can also cast Fly, Dimension Hop, and other movement spells, and he has a couple manuevers that do the same - often as a swift action to get out of harm's way after he attacks. He'll self-heal using his healing belt or use his ring of invisibility to disappear entirely if need be.

He's got a lot of other tricks, too. He'll focus on ship-defense and self-defense until ordered otherwise.

She'll reserve her spells for those actually trying to get on board, or those sending long range spells against the ship. She has her own doubts about the group's ability to defeat this...

She'll cast summon undead V and summon a wyvern zombie (monster manual 267) to go out and attack the nearest enemy.

The ship with all the crew in prepared battle-station is amazing to watch. Most creatures swarming in the sky will not be able to break the magic-sphere around the ship. Those that do are crushed by Bruug or cut in half by Raven. Calli also aids backstabbing some ugly looking demon-dudes, who all seem to look right past her. {Actually all of you will have trouble seeing Calli, though when she strikes is visible for a moment, with her jade-sonic wings carrying her about.}

Arha's magic is a part of the exciting high budgeted scene, and her spells work mostly on the spell-resistant bastards. Arha knows well the defenses of demons. :smallwink:

With the many lasers, ballistic missiles, and other arrays the air around the Zephyr is lit up like nothing any of you have seen. Demons are blasted to smithereens and sent back to the Abyss.

Arha's undead wyvern will battle gloriously for the cause, and will at some point minutes after it is created be ripped to shreds, but not after it slew many lesser demons.

Countless quasits, and demonlings made up the masses of flying monsters, but the biggest threat will be the spore tossing Vrocks. Luckily the spores can't penetrate the shields. And only the mighty are on the main deck for defense, so the spores do little harm.

The gnomes go into the lower decks, and they will control the front and rear cannons. The third will assist with tracking on a screen, he is the one with most of the gadgets, and will explain the guns in dwarven to Olrik as the battle happens, even giving him a chance to fire the guns. Olirk will have turned a few Vrocks and some large unknown demon to stone while on the main deck. The stone demons fall into the sea and sink, not disappearing when they die.

It will be quickly seen that the ship, though with near limitless power can only unleash so much fury upon the demons for so long, before the attacks slow due to recharging. Demons are smart, and the gnomes will begin to grumble in gnome around Olrik.

It is during one of these lulls, after the ship and crew have slain thousands of demons, that a hull breach will occur.

Shockingly enough it happens near the station that Olrik is in, and he will be aware of it quickly, as the rumbling of explosions doesn't drown out the screaming of some engineer, in a lower deck nearby.

Merie will have been too late to alert the main deck, but Arha and Raven will see that some demons quickly broke through underneath the ship.

{OOC- Previous Fly spells would be over by the time of this hull breach hours into the battle.}

Kandor City is burning and much of it is in ruin.
Except the castle, which you can sort of make out through the dark storm winds that blow over the city.

As far as the blue wizards go, it seems after the first hour all were dead or fled, and the Red Zephyr is the city's sole defense. Most of the demons will turn on the Zephyr.

"Damnation!"
Olrik curses at the sound of the hull breach and looking about notices how little defence is left. Grabbing the nearest crewman by the arm he points upstairs.
"Go find the captain and tell her I recommend a tactical retreat, the city is a lost cause, the enemy inumerable and our sole defensive line has been breached. I will be downstairs attempting to hold the breach but we need to leave now!"

He then gestures for the remaining crewmen who appear battle ready to follow him to the breach, renews his force screen and heads on to the battle buffering up as he goes.

She'll follow Bruug down to the hull breach, to assist him in defense of the hole.

Dani, for her part, will stand firm on the deck, making sure to keep very near Alexis at all times.

Her tactics will be simple:
1. Keep her shield up!
2. Use Psionic Disintrigrate as much as possible.
3. Or Baleful Teleport if demons get too close...
4. Psionic Blast and Swarm of Crystals are also on the table. The latter usually aimed between demons' legs. :smalleek:

Calli and Dani will likely be out of power by now. Though when at full strength were a devastating force. This battle goes on so long it will almost become EXHAUSTING to be so focused for so long!

The design of the protective sphere is such that the upper part goes 40 feet above the ship. However it only goes a few feet out under the thick plated lower hull. Anyone flying to the outer side of the breach will be exposed to countless lesser demons and Vrock Spores. You are all incredible heroes and will have the cover of about 25 various 'ship-gunners' covering you, but not all have this angle and it is extremely dangerous. A few times Raven, Bruug, and Calli flew outside to battle vicious monsters, and the miracle of the Zephyr's shield would always allow the friendlies back in, but not the demon hoard of quasits chasing them.

The sails and masts are destroyed rather quickly above, even as they are retracted, metal bars are flung all over the place as debris becomes an obstacle if on the Main Deck. By now Allie will have gone into the Control Room where she could more directly command her bridge-crew, Merie was draining the ship too quickly.

Inside the ship there are several demons that broke into one of the lower storage hulls near the engineers' station by the coolant pump chamber. This is a large area with big pumps, 20 feet high ceilings, it is lit with a few magic lights, but is loud and shadowy.

{OOC- As all get to this breach we will slow to initiative, and I will play-out this scene directly.}

Arha

Arha will look over the edge at the breach and cast a spirit wall to try and block the breach in the hull.

Her skeletons will continue to stand watch, ready to attack anyone that tries to approach her.

Spirit Wall: up to 130 square feet, lasts 13 minutes, spell resistance no. She causes the outward side to emit a low groaning that causes creatures within 60 feet to make a Will Save (DC 20) or become frightened and flee for [roll0] rounds. Any living creature that mere touches the wall takes [roll1] damage as their life force is disrupted.

A living creature passing through the wall takes [roll2] damage and must make a Fort save (DC 20) or gain one negative level. The barrier is semimaterial and opaque, providing cover and total concealment against physical attacks and it blocks line of effect for magical effects.

Knowing of the coming battle, Aust prepared himself as soon as the white king departed. He traveled below deck to dawn his armor and shield in preparation, stripping his noble shirt beforehand so that it would not become damaged in the battle.

Aust is short at Five foot four, but he seems to possess a regal air about him despite this. His skin is pale and his eyes no longer seem to reflect a brilliant silver but more a dull grey as if they were missing something. He is muscular but possesses a graceful and dexterous form that often fools people into believing he is much weaker then he is. He tapes his hands and arms in preparation and lifts the hood of his cloak in case he needs to go out below deck.

"It looks like I am needed elsewhere, let our Strength prove the greater." Aust adds in one final prayer as he leaves his guard post at the 'core' that powered most of their fantastic arsenal, especially since he doubted a mundane bow and arrow would be of much help and wasnt about to ask to operate one of the weapon stations when he had no idea what he was doing and his hand to hand training not that useful since not much was making it through their shields.

'Guard the medical bay, do not leave unless one of the specialists, the captain or the empress is in danger.' Aust telepathically orders Ema having her cast the 'status' spell in preparation for the battle so as to monitor the important crew. He leaves her to continue giving emergency aid to the crew in the medical ward - having his coffin brought there and hidden beneath some crates by Ema prior to the jump so that he would return there in mist form for healing in case he was struck down in battle.

Aust walked softly but with deliberate intent towards the breach sliding his rose colored goggles into place to pick up on anything that didnt readily display to the naked eye, occasionally ducking into a hiding place in preparation for an ambush if he sensed something coming and didn't recognize it. He hoped to ambush the intruders one at a time if possible, but knew that such encounters were unlikely.

Bruug will be one of the first to reach the horrors on the lower level, as his athletic form bounds downward into the belly of the ship, likely knocking over a few slow-moving crewmen in the way, but at the moment, they will apologize to him. On his way to real damage, Bruug sees an act of bravery as an injured Mustachio the engineer battles his way out of the pump room, saving at least 3 skinny greasy men, who Mustachio pushes out the Pump Room waving a mighty sledge hammer about.

Bruug will see all sorts of quasits, and tieflings flitting about beyond Mustachio into the Pump Room.

Aust may be short, but among the specialists, he is one of the taller ones.
Ema and a few others will wait in the Medical Bay and prepare...

The coffin will be put in the main surgeon's room for now. He's cool with it. "As long as you save our asses, Aust, you can take a &^%$ in there for all I care. If you can do that..." Says the 'Doc' when the coffin was placed in secrecy.

It doesn't appear that larger demons are going below, at least it appears nothing meaner than a bat-winged-tiefling or Vrock. For now Raven will stand strong around the main deck.

Dani and Calli will be within sight of Raven defending the ship's main deck from any demonic creatures above.

As Arha springs into action she can slow the enemy demons seeking access to the lower hull of the ship. {OOC- This spirit-wall will effect anyone?} She has to peer over the side of the ship to see the breach, but for now she is fine with the shields and skeletons surrounding her. {Arha is likely getting low on spells too...}

Olrik is within the ship, near the cannon controls with the tinker gnomes. He will soon be interrupted by a quasit or two... Unless he went out for extended periods he is likely stocked with some psionic potential...

Pump Room:
Bruug can tell a few tiny little demons got past him and into the ship, but here in the belly of the ship, he can see into the Pump-Room filled with flying demons Vrocks and abyssal-tieflings alike! There are a few brave marines here who are batting away at the demons futilely. Bruug can see there are a few engineers who are dead, and maybe a marine or two dismembered it is hard to see. But, the men literally cry in relief when Bruug comes to save them. Joe calls out, he is covered in blood. "We couldn't save them all!"

You will see the wicked spirit wall howling outward from the ship, slowing the in-coming demons a lot!!! Bruug will full on splatter a few demons as they fly too close to Bruug as he enters. He destroys a screaming Vrock in his way.
On the far side of the pump room, he will see two strange demons amid the chaos, they are spewing green energy at the spirit wall, and somehow effecting the sonic shields of the ship with their demonic energies.

Aust will see all this and more, as a sneaking assassin tiefling was indeed sneaking up on Bruug. It dies, and it too returns to the Abyss as if summoned. Before it popped away, Aust was able to enjoy some of that pure demonic nectar, their life-force energy sometimes had a side-effect.

Inside the Pump Room, the marines will flee now, "Our weapons cannot hurt them!" Joe calls out as he retreats.
A marine is clawed to death before Bruug or the other 2 can get to safety. Aust and Bruug see a flurry of about 25 demons currently in here, and many of them want to get further deeper into the ship. Bruug will kill many as they come at him, before they slow up, and try some spells that fail on both mighty enemies facing the demons.

Main Deck:
Those on the Main Deck will get minimal action, and most of the demon attempts now are to approach the Spirit Wall, which is deterring the Demons only a little.

Arha's Death Armor goes on.

You all can hear the screams of marines fighting below decks.

Cannon Controls:
As Olrik was helping organize things below, there was some men saved and sent to safe spots. He and the tinker gnomes will be curious when a strange looking dark blue quasit flits into the area and chuckles at the two tinker gnomes firing the cannons. Though it isn't a quasit, and has the meanest set of horns on his bad ass head, he speaks in a deep low demonic voice: "Just what I was looking for." Says the most bad ass miniature demon Olrik ever saw. At the moment he will be the only survivor for an electrical storm is unleashed in this cramp quarters than causes everything here to go dark, and then fritz, and explode!

EVERYONE will feel as the Zephyr is rocked in the air by the explosion. The stabilizers will kick in, and somehow Olrik survived the electrical blast, but the ensuing ship explosion caused this whole region to be molten metal. All 3 tinker gnomes were practically disintegrated instantly. There will only be charred bits of them left.

From Bruug and Aust's perspective this explosion happened behind them.

The rest of you on the main deck will know things are NOT right below decks!

Bruug will for some reason flash on the concept of shadow-demons when he looks at the ones near the breach. Clearly this is some of the knowledge he has yet to fully awaken. Aust will think these strange dark green shadowy demons are fused with some sort of sonic energy. {As green seems to be the color of choice for many sonicists.} Bruug can kill a few lesser demons on route to the shadowy demons by the breach. He will be feet from them by the end of this devastating cross. Small demons throw themselves at him, only to be hacked in half.

Aust can seal he and Bruug in here, but only a manual override from the bridge will get them out. Another large Vrock tries to muscle Aust down, spraying spores harmlessly all over Aust, and the surprised Vrock squawks in surprise as Aust pins him into the ground taking more of his demonic lifeforce.

The Demons swarm the ship. The spirit wall is limiting those inside, and those guardians on the main deck continue to protect it.

Ema will be busy, and will shout back to Aust, "Little busy!! We got a lot of dead in here!!"

Allie peers out of the bridge to those on the Main Deck. "Some of you check below! I got nothing from the middle of the ship! And we've lost ALL sorts of firepower!!! Reports are bad!!!" She screams out and then ducks inside slamming the door shut.

Raven is already gone {DM-action}, but he won't get far below decks before he sees the destruction. Sparking wires, and melted halls, and there are whole areas blown out. Raven will quickly notice that the area exploded is right over the Brig. And when Raven finds the center of the ship, he will find the ladder just stops. Below him is a wholly collapsed region, he can see right into the guard room station, next to the Brig. Raven can barely remember what was in this part of the ship, that is now open space smelling of ozone and burnt flesh. There is more death as Raven sees the whole blast wasn't contained as well as the designers might have hoped. And Raven will need to be careful moving through here or could be burnt or electrocuted.
Raven will hear a demonic voice, chuckling, and laughing from the direction of the brig-guard station as if talking to Sariel.
He won't understand the demonic language, but Sariel answers in imperial common. "Do your worst demon. I fear you not."

The Brig: -RAVEN
Raven moved swiftly down through the ceiling into the room where he not long ago interrogated Sariel. His long lost friend.
He did not hesitate. Not one bit. This was bad. This was real bad. ALL of his past lives had one of these buggers, though they all seem different. This BALOR seems familiar. Though he's a lot smaller than Raven remembers.
Currently, this human-sized buff dark blue demon with mighty wings is ripping the containing wall off of Sariel's prison. The electrical and sonic discharge exploding in the demon's face bothers it not at all.
Nor does the mighty blow of Raven's leaping chop, that fails to penetrate the dark blue flesh-armor. Cold blue flames dance around this demon, and Raven will feel very cold in here, and chilling just to be so near it. The Balor spins and seems to grow filling the room slowly. It tosses the metal wall of the brig-door at Raven, before he even looks. When he turns Raven will see the demon's vicious electrical jagged blade growing in its hand.
The demon spies Raven after his embarrassing throw, which damages and blocks the normal entrance into this room. "Ah! Hello, whatever-your-name-is-now. I am here for you now too! And your tasty soul-mate. Hahaha!!!" The Balor speaks to Raven in Draconic.
The only way now is from above, through electrical circuits, that Raven deftly avoided. {Reflexes are good!}
"You won't want to kill me. That is bad for all on-board. You should know, Phoenix-borne!!!" He will ignore Raven for the moment as he grows in this large, but human-sized chamber, where he may be cramped a little. He will reach for Sariel, next...

Sariel has no weapons, but is skilled as any monk, and is in a defensive fighting posture in her cell, and will try to work a flank with Raven. Immediately, these two will have a bond in fighting, and Raven need only subtly cue his long-lost friend, and she will be ready.
{And yes, only seconds have passed....}

PUMP ROOM: Bruug and Aust
The Green Shadow Demons Won't Know what hit them, when Bruug is able to unleash his full attacks upon them both crouched by the breach, which is blocked by Arha's horrific SPIRIT WALL. Bruug with his many mighty blows puts to death both these highly magical beings blocking the shields with the wicked magic.

Aust can put down this pinned Vrock, and send it back to the Abyss.

Elsewhere:
Calli and others will prep to go below decks. Ema, the now vampiric priestess, is trying to pull some injured non-combat crew to safety into the entertainment area. The shrapnel from the second explosion did damage into several of the surrounding decks. Only because Sariel was a ninja-elf, did she not get harmed 2 levels below.

Those flying though the electrical mess of destruction, will only get a minor jolt at worse. The evil coldness will cause you to freeze up unless you are properly prepared for chilling weather. And it sounds like some demon is hissing like a dragon.

Main Deck:
Arha can see that the ship battles on, and there are considerable less amount of demons throwing themselves at the ship. Which was good because now it was firing a lot less. The two big sonic/laser cannons, are no longer blasting at all.

Arha does aid killing a flying frost demon that looked like a large nasty ice bat. She was right, her scorching rays hurt it a lot. In fact kill it.

Alexis looks at Dani pulling her below decks, "You heard the captain! Something's not right below!! Come on!" She will approach the electrically alive area looking down warily, and will try to climb down, taking some electrical damage. She is not as agile as Raven, and will take some time to climb through the central wreckage.

Calli can also make her way downward, and will nimbly be able to avoid all the sparking wires. {DM action} You will be able to hear the demon and Raven.

Brig with a Balor:
The demon laughs at Raven's retort, its deep demonic voice loud, booming and bold. "I remember now! I liked killing you!!! Hahahahahah!!! So be it then!!! I'll take the whole Jammer with me!!!" It continues to speak draconic. Even if it understood human-tongues it would never dare use it. It is now 8 feet tall and growing, the wings folding the ceiling which is already weakened, and going upward under its might.
Raven's leap across the guard room ends in an epic strike that staggers the mighty demon for a moment, and he looks with respect at the 'Phoenix-borne' before, and behind him. Deep black blood flows down this demon's chest, as Raven ripped this thing's rib-cage open and innards could be seen. Still this gash seemed to bother it little, and is more impressed by Raven.

The Balor leaps up powerfully bursting through the wreckage above. "Not here!!! Not now!! You have become more powerful than I can ever remember." It will quite literally burst through Dani, Calli, and Shrike as they are coming down, just catching the leap and strike of Raven. The Balor will only be minorly slowed as it plows through metal straight upward, still moving fast. He seems to know a the quickest way out of this 'tin-can'. Dani, Calli, and Shrike will be hurt only a little as the Balor tries to force its way out through metal blasting right through them. {D:10}
Up until this point Dani was a lot better than Alexis at avoiding the little shocks of electricity on the way down. At this point this trio will be tossed down into the guard room among wreckage. Somehow Sariel and Raven avoid taking any damage from the shower of broken decks. All will be delayed under falling debris, as this Balor tries to dig its way out of the ship.

Sariel says with eyes wide as she looks at Raven, "It told me it tortured one of the Blue Wizards. He knew EXACTLY where he was going." She doesn't expect Raven to listen too long. She can do nothing, and doesn't expect to be let out of the prison, even if the door is wide open for her.

PUMP ROOM:
Bruug will pretty much put the fear of good into these demons, and the ones he doesn't slay will attempt to flee out through the breach, even risking the Spirit-wall. Bruug near the breach can send many to die as they scream by him.

Aust will see there were more than 30 demons, but in one-fell-threatening-swoop Bruug sent the lot of various 'breach-demons' running (or rather flying) for their lives. One crazy Vrock will need a lesson taught however, as it seems to taunt you both, threatening to destroy a big cooling pump. Aust can easily leap up and wrestle it to death in a round or two.

{Apparently, Aust did NOT seal he and Bruug in the Pump room, yet....}

It seems to Arha, that the demons are fleeing now as she looks at the ruined city. The demons are now going upward into the swirling portal, where the souls went. Arha hasn't seen souls going up as much as when you all first arrived. All the soul-sucking seemed to halt after a while.

Aust smirked as the enemy routed before them, he assumed thanks to Brug not able to see that it was a common phenomenon around the entire city (though it may have been because of Brugs help as well ^^).

As most enemies were fleeing and there were but a few strong opponents remaining there was no reason to seal the door that he had been guarding. He would have earlier if not for the minor interference of the Earlier Vrock.

However the other one had some nerve when he'd already taken down one of them moments ago. Aust rushed the creature and in the midst of the tackle was already climbing across its body into position with his powers.

"Go on Ahead - i'll be fine, gotta twist this chickens head off before I send it back to that great planar oven called hell." Aust adds still finishing off the Vrock at this point having the creature held beneath the beak and pulling back with his heels stations on the creatures back.

Pump Room:
Aust snaps the Vrock's neck as he kills it violently. The body disappears.
"Abyssssssss fool!!!!!" Is the last thing the Vrock gargled in its abyssal, demonic language.

Bruug will find much wreckage blocks his way in the central passages of the ship. He will be able to bend walls, and lift things, and help free crew trapped and dying down here.

Aust can hear that some of the demons are screaming, "It's the Irda!! It's the one!!! Flee!!! It is not time!! Not yet!!....No........!!!!!!"

The Balor:
The demon is full grown when Arha sees him burst out of the main deck, meaning he went right through the ceiling of the entertainment area. He jets out of the ship at an angle, and will only be briefly slowed as he attempts to escape through the ship's shields.

Those near the Brig are no longer hurting, but are trapped below busted decks. You will hear Bruug likely moving walls to get at you guys or other crew down here.

The dark blue Balor with yellow horns will at first see his remaining hoard of demons fleeing, "Cowards!!! Garrrrr!!!!!!"

He will take notice of Arha, and smile as he is leaving. She might not be for one of her skeletons is destroyed as the demon burst upward. Arha will be standing very near the gaping hole looking down into the entertainment deck. "I heard you were here. Just in time for the Blood War!!! Arhahahahahh!!!!!

Arha will see the gash closing on his chest, but she could still see some of the demon's ribcage. She could try a spell as it leaves, if she has any left....

Arha quickly backs up when the hole in the deck appears. She watches in awe as the Balor climbs higher. She doesn't attempt anything, she doesn't think she has anything left that might even affect him. The only spells she has left are the wimpy ones intended for demons that directly attack her.

Raven

Sariel knew Raven well, even in these incarnations; she was right, he wasn't going to stay long to listen to the details of how the balor knew where to find them. He shrugs off the debris and casts a spell before giving chase to the balor. Heading up through the opening left by the balor, he hurls a curse in draconic and a swarm of jade and violet scarabs at the fleeing demon.

Raven hollers after the fleeing demon, "I will be even stronger next time, fool!"

Last turn, shrug off debris, & cast Fly

After the Balor:
Raven is not as strong as the Balor, and will have trouble getting out as the demon crashes his way through. Raven is agile and can dodge the debris flying upward, but his lesser strength slows him a little. The demon rips through the ship like it is paper.

On the main deck, Arha will be slightly awed as the full grown demon spreads his wings and teleports away. Arha will see as Raven comes tearing after it spraying his Doom-Scarabs at the Balor just outside the shield, just as it is leaving. Raven didn't kill the demon, but he could see he hurt it again just a little. "Welcome back, Phoenix-borne!!" The dark blue Balor laughs and disappears.

Within minutes you will see the massive whirlpool in the sky begin to dwindle. By dusk all demons and portal will be gone, and nothing is left of Kandor City, but the King's castle, and his Seraglio. Smoldering ruins where the city once was, it seems the demons left no one alive.

Alexis and Dani will find they are perfectly suited for this, and once Allie realizes the battle is over she will rush below decks looking for Calli. She will be upset so many died, but will fight back any tears at the moment.

Hearing Calli call for Olrik will be a secret relief to her, but then will worriedly search for any sign of Olrik or the tinker gnomes.

Arha will see that Mustachio and Joe were trying to get wounded crew to the entertainment area. It is open (to the air now), and actually set-up for emergency trauma. Arha can aid these two bloodied men as they try to save the lives of others.

Calli will find Ned 'the Legend' bleeding in a closet not far from the pump room, she will notice the trail of blood. He is also under some rubble, but protected as he hid from the demons that clawed him.

Sariel will apologize to Raven when she is caught out of the brig aiding in recovery. "I wasn't going to flee. I promise." She says coyly.

Aust is not hesitant to aid with live wires as he is resistant to electricity ; and will aid hazerdous area's like those with gas leaks as they wont effect him and is even willing to lend a hand with structurally unsound regions if necessary as he possesses capable strength, tough skin and superb healing and can turn to mist and escape - or at least occupy less space in case of a collapse.

'Is Olrik?' Aust thinks telepathically to Ema, Olrik having been one of the subjects of the status spell. If he'd just been disintegrated, he should read as 'dead'. But if he just didn't register or was now outside of range, that was something completely different.

Olrik is far-out of Aust, Ema, or even the ship's 'sensors'.

Arha and her skeletons do not frighten the crew, as they are used to the gully-skeletal frames moving clumsily about the ship.

About dinner time, it is dusky over the blackened former city when magical red alert lights again flash all over the ship.
You will be summoned for battle to the main deck. When you get there the Red Alert will be downgraded to YELLOW, and Allie will be in the face of another gorgeous noble. Or rather one with her face down on the deck, prostrate before Allie, but seductively so.

This Queen is naturally beautiful, Arrianna was magically enchanted like a demi-goddess, this Queen of Kandor is practically a living goddess, even Aust will be affected by her charisma displays. This is yet another blue dragon-knight, but this one's suit is much fancier than any you have seen, with platinum and gold trim along with the blue dragonscale. Her helmet has been removed and she is kneeling before Admiral Allie when the lot of you come battle ready to the Main Deck. This woman seems blessed with the very vain beauty of Tiamat's blue aspect Herself. There is a green dragon crest of emeralds on her chest, a sign of her husband's green colors.

Allie is scolding this 'goddess', and it seems you all missed the more offensive comments. "*&^*%......... And another thing! You and your sisters are more than whores! You allowed your whole city to be killed!!!! You are criminals!"

When Allie finally takes a breath, this blue-dragon 'goddess' interjects, "Our wizard-armies refused to leave the castle. I am here to commend your great defense of our city. Surely the royal family would've been lost had it not been for your ship and crew."

Allie gasps, freezes with a finger pointing at her, and then looks at the rest of you. Expecting her specialists to know more of what to say to this woman. Aust will notice the invisible colossal blue dragon circling not very high above the Zephyr, those of you not seeing invisible will merely feel the circling winds of its gliding above.

Allie finally mutters to you all introducing this woman, "Jill. Queen of Kandor."

"Jillian. Please."

On her part, Allie won't look at the Queen and stay mad at her, so she looks at Calli, but listens intently.

The Queen studies Bruug as she listens to him, surprised to see him.
"You are magnificent. I want you as my knight."
Calli will hear her invisible familiar fairy-dragon snort in disgust at this thought.
The Queen seems drawn to the Irda, as are so many, and she will crawl to him across the deck, like she's a snake. Then cradle his leg without looking at him, pulling her dragonscaled chest into him. For those watching {attracted to ladies}, they will experience a certain arousal at her incredible slinky move, as if she were not even human. She appears to be so in Aust's eyes, he might even be salivating at this scrumptious healthy human female.
"Bruug Demonslayer. It must be you." This queen says.

She turns a little somber on talk of survivors, without taking her warm bosom from his armored leg. {Strange he feels it through her dragonscale as well....}

"I did what I could. I saved ladies, handmaidens, and my daughters... I was unable to do much for the city. Even I am under the strict control and protection of others." She looks to the castle, and then up to her invisible dragon friend in the sky.

The disappointment of such an alert was a short one especially when the situation became clearer. Aust was mildly distracted by the dragon at first to comment in Allies defense and if he didnt know better he'd probably be a little ashamed at himself as he clenched his eyes for a moment and then wiped the corners of his mouth with his thumb and pointer finger with a slight cough.

"True today was most tragic; However it is easy to judge another's stance on such a battle in hind-sight but the decision was theirs captain and hopefully not made lightly." Aust adds hoping as a captain Allie can understand one cannot take back one's decision and will have to live with the guilt of the bad.

"However, we should not let our tempers or rivalry distract us from the obvious mutual enemy here ; as well as the rebuilding." Aust adds hoping to sooth tensions.

"What does the family plan to do with the depleted capital now?" Aust adds curiously. "I assume it is not to be abandoned yes, so a migration of citizens will be needed to replenish the capital; but if not handled correctly this could turn into a disaster especially if you do not have enough forces after such a battle to properly police the capital and keep order - as well as properly protect against such an attack in the future." Aust adds imagining a sudden influx of thieves after such a disaster.

"Perhaps we could even lend aid for a time captain, the ship will need a port to affect repairs and perhaps the royal family would be willing to show their thanks to their saviors so that our weapons and forces may continue to serve properly against our mutual enemy?" Aust adds hoping to at least extort a bit of the repair funds out of them as he continues to be sensitive to their plight.

"But that aside, I think the real issue that we're interest in is - do you have any idea 'what' these things were after or 'why' these events transpired Queen Jillian? I ask as these are not my lands and surmise you would know more then I about the affairs of this nation." Aust adds with a false but humble bow in response interested in her response.

She submits to Aust, crawling to him. "Oh, great ancient moon-elf. My people must've done this horror to you. How long have you been lost for?"
She pulls her self up to Aust's cold thigh to answer him. "I plan to rebuild. Look for survivors. My... our husband. He plans to hole up for a while. For now, he fled to one of his other cities. Perhaps the old capital... though his desert citadel is quite a safe place to hide from demons."

Allie chuckles still gazing at Calli, and Calli will see all facial reactions are not necessarily directed at Calli. Allie does so to not get drawn into those blue-dragon eyes of this queen. "Every soldier of Kandor gone into that Bush! Tell me, JILL, how do we know you are not giving us a load of manure."

"Then I'd say, Allie, you don't know about soil management or the Earth-bound realm. Your domain is the Sea.

Please, my moon-elfin friend, you are welcome in our ports... that which is left of them...
My sister-wives will welcome your arrival in the palace. Even the crew will have a place to stay if need be."

Allie bites her lip, shakes her head. "I don't think I'm sending my whole crew in there. Maybe some of you... and Calli, I'm not going in there..." Jillian seems amused by this.

'I suppose demons do not need an ulterior motive in this case.' Aust athinks knowing there was likely more to why the demons decided to target kandor - but regrettably he could see that it could easily have just been chosen because it was a plump target, with decent population density as well an ineffectual or unwilling armed force willing to move against them.

Aust is slightly confused by Jillians statement about a horror being inflicted upon him and having been lost but tries not to show it, he did not like to talk about such things publicly if he could avoid them - though it is likely worth looking into later as there is still much he would know. "It is, inconsequential." He responds coldly as his fingers brush back her hair behind her ear and slip down to the base of her chin as he gently raises her head.

"Come, stand." Aust adds holding his other hand out to help her to her feet. "Your people will look to you, let them look now and see a strength in confidence." He would be suprised if the dragon rider who represented the blue head and vanity did not have a strong personality or force of will that believed in itself even when it had no reason to - as vanity and pride are often closely linked.

"Your people will need a beacon to rally to if you expect to lead this city in your husbands absence..." Aust adds as if not having to say 'and we cannot be it' while also implying that she should not allow another.

She gets her strength leaning up against Aust and standing into him. A normal humanoid with a heart-beat would have been even slightly aroused. She will seem to enjoy toying with this 'emotionless' being. Aust can see an annoyed scowl on the colossal face of the blue dragon above.

Jillian looks down at the city from the Red Zephyr's deck, she waves her hand dismissing it. "There's no city. None survived. I have word the demons left some in the surrounding villages. A wheat community was left wholly untouched. It is right over a river from the city. Untouched my wizards have told me! I care to only protect my family and sisters. Obviously our king has 'more' important things on his mind." She seems a little annoyed, but focuses mostly on those of you who need pleasing.

Allie will rib Calli, still refusing to look at Jillian, but addressing her. "ALL of your sisters?"

"No. Silly."* Jillian laughs Allie off.

Allie whispers to Calli, "This is the Sea Empress's eldest. I believe, if we find her missing sister or sisters, we have our case against the King." Likely Raven, Dani, and/or Bruug heard this last part since they would be near Allie at this moment.

Calli reassures Ned the Coward, promising not to say anything, if he agrees to train with her, after his wounds are healed.

On Deck

When she first arrived on deck, she felt bad at how Allie was yelling at the poor woman. She'd just lost her kingdom. How could Allie be so cruel.

But as she watched, she became mesmorized by how lowly Queen Jillian was. She would have been beautiful, if she wasn't so weak.

Calli just frowns at the "Queen". She looks up at Allie, a mixed look of confusion, disgust, and anger. Is she really their Queen? she looks back at the crawling woman. She's disgusting.

After the queen stands, Calli steps forward closer. Don't you even care about those who died? You're no Queen. You're a harlot! She has to hold herself back from throwing the creature over board, so instead, she chooses to glare up at the invisible dragon flying above. How can you serve one such as her? she asks him in her mind.

Queen Jillian- on Boat:
Allie gives Dani a cool subtle nod of acknowledgment.

The Queen looks at Calli, but says nothing, just gazing at her with her intense gemstone eyes as if they might fill with water.

The blue dragon answers Calli telepathically, at least she assumes the sudden draconic-accented voice is the one answering from above. "I don't serve her. Dragons NEVER serve anyone. Not even your gemstone friend. I don't care what he told you." He seems vain and arrogant.

Jillian will finally kneel before Calli, but this time less slinky. Her form and movement still flawless. "It is true. My title... It means nothing. There are 20 or more other 'queens', and this doesn't include his other.... wives."

Jillian is hurt by Calli's harsh words, but meek. "Please. Come to my home. You are all honored guests, and surely... at least in my eyes Defenders of Kandor."

Recovery efforts will take days, even weeks.... for now Jillian will insist that Allie and her officers come to visit. "I know some of the wives will be quite happy to see you."

Allie looks at Calli, "I'll need to discuss this, Jill. But, I think my orders. As your new Imperial Admiral is to stay aboard my ship."

"Admiral? Well, then nonsense!! You are an even more important guest of the land!"

"Ain't no guests here. This here is a warzone. And it was about to be me on you a-holes. I got specialists to deal with your crap." All the time Allie never looks at Jillian.

In Arha's 'Head':
The Eye thinks there are some survivors. The Eye cannot look into the Seraglio or find out where the other d'Veil sisters are, or even knowing necessarily where to look for them...

Aust ponders for a moment to the dragons nature and relationship with the rider for a moment as it seems less then happy. Aust will not go against the captains orders readily and so will not leave without permission, though the information presented so far was certainly tempting enough for him to contemplate it.

"Well captain, it is your decision how we shall proceed from here since things have certainly changed - I would like to stay at least for a few days, if only to receive a guest who was supposed to meet me here... I only hope they had not already arrived." Aust adds while contemplating the possibility that they could survive such an attack if they stayed on the defensive with the right wards.

"If you like I will see the queen and her escort safely to the Castle." He adds as if to denote the irony of escorting someone escorted by a dragon. But he is also very interested in possibly meeting this dragon as well.

He figured the queen would continue to be a distraction for their plans and efforts so long as she was here - but sending her away outright might cause unnecessary problems.

"The king was whisked away by his protectors. None of us here at the palace know where he is. As 1st wife, I am in charge now."

Allie will want several private councils, all involve Calli. But, most do not involve Queen Jillian at all. While Jillian waits Percy the bard will 'entertain' her with his witty conversations, and anyone else who wants to hang wit dis ho.

Jillian will want to chat briefly with Arha while she waits, already bored of the bard. Jillian, like all the other nobles, will want to know what it is like to be from so long ago.

The empress will meet in secret with Allie and the officers. Empress promises immediate retaliation should anything untoward happen.

When it is time, Allie will wish you luck, and of course, the 'specialists' will all go. Allie will miss Calli most of all, but tell her, "I'll be so busy in the next few days... possibly weeks, I'll just be a grump all the time."

When the specialists are ready, after Allie's preparations/meetings, Jillian will teleport you all into the palace.

Dani will be encouraged to entertain the Queen while the many meetings are made, and the specialists prepare for anything. Allie will say that this is to be a week's stay: "Unless things get serious or we get called. Then we will extract you post-haste!"

The Queen will look curiously at Dani, not noticing her until the crew is moving about. The dragon still circles high in the air, invisible and extremely bored.
"You seem interesting. What do you do on this ship? I may have a use for you..." She says with a leer that might make Dani uncomfortable.

Percy will be here, and wave off the Queen's leeriness. "She's new. She's our secret weapon. Hm-hm."

"Really now..." The Queen says with a smirk expecting Dani to speak. Jillian listens, and leans into the railing, like she's posing for a painting. Zhako the artist will make a mental note.

Allie will listen to Arha and Calli, and agree, saying to Jillian: "None of my people are going into that place with you, without spells. Sorry, cuz. But, you'll have to come back tomorrow." There is not much left in the day, and there is still plenty to do this night, and Merie is already organizing a ship rescue crew to search the city now for survivors... especially since the queen and all her wizards seem to be making no effort to do this.

Allie in private, away from the epically beautiful Queen, is relaxed. She agrees with Calli's assessment. "I really think this Queen is controlled... like the others. And believe me, I want to not like her a whole lot. Her nation wasn't destroyed. Kandor is big, and there are a few major ports. This was the biggest... but... you are right. She could give a rat's-ass."

Raven might find the delay until morning annoying, but Merie will channel his efforts into the rescue mission. "I have a feeling you won't be getting any sleep this night. I understand your restlessness."

This night will be exhausting, and Merie will order Raven to get some rest at some point. Using the many ship sonic powers and back-breaking labor, dozens of people are rescued from the rubble. Raven will find 2 boys hiding in a toy chest. It will be an emotional night, and you will see that the beginning has just started for recovery here.

In the morning, the ship is still in rescue mode, with rotating shifts. Allie will be taking charge now. Jillian will be there at 8 am sharp to take you all in.

Her wizards allowed a shelter to be set up in the palace courtyard, but already it is starting to overwhelm their resources... at least that is their complaint to the night rescue crew.

Not one blue wizard is seen, though many were seen flying and battling the demons over the city. They clearly lost this battle.

Raven will collect up the children, starting with the two boys, and treat them with a tenderness no one present will have seen from the big man. He will use the least of his magic gifts to do tricks for them, dancing lights and happy sounds. One might wonder what the warrior intended to do with the collection of children, but other than get them to safety, he didn't know.

Until he did. He wasn't sure who, but Merie, the Queen's wizards, or maybe the ship itself, but someone could do it. He'd send the children to Tunia back in Sunhaven. It was the perfect place for lost children. He kept his child-friendly smile, but a sharp glimmer had appeared in his eyes. He'd hauled them out of hell, but maybe he could actually get them to safety.

Night Rescue:
Merie will take to Raven's suggestion and reminder, of the Petunia Orphanage and soon to be University, which was being built as the Zephyr flies over Kandor City right now. The orphanage could house hundreds of kids and was well-under its full capacity last Raven saw.

Captain Merie will argue vehemently, threatening to wake Allie and the Queen, if the royal-wizards refuse to aid in transporting the kids to safety. Raven will become their hero, though many are beyond frightened, and will need lots of healing.

Raven will stay up later than Captain Merie wants, for the haggle over transporting the dozens of youths saved in the last few hours was taking hours from Raven's day tomorrow, and it is likely he may be a little tired tomorrow when Jillian comes to 'collect' at 8am. Raven will have gotten to know Cassy's ex-girlfriend Tunia, she was an ex-patriot imperial-noble giving her wealth to the needy in Sunhaven to win Cassy's affection back. The good-hearted, but foul-mouthed rogue. Tunia will jump at the chance to help so many, and will relieve Raven at some point, telling him to get some rest, and will even sneak on Illanee for a quickie, while Cassy babysits as a favor....

This brunette rogue in black leather will be around the ship for a bit, as Tunia aids in the recovery of youths. In the end Allie, Merie, Jillian, and even Arrianna in secret, will fund the children. Tunia will need money to feed so many over time, even with donations.

At 8am:
Olmeric serves something he calls Eggs Benedict, which the Queen will describe as heaven as she eats, and will offer to buy Allie's cook away on the spot for an unheard of amount, she will even attempt to bribe Olmeric away, and both refuse with out another word.

Raven will likely be exhausted.

Allie is very formal, looking at everyone except Jillian. It is decided Percy will accompany the group as diplomat, since he is well-versed in the cultures of the empire. He will be your group advisor, though Calli, Bruug, Raven, and the rest of you will be expected to act as independent operatives and leaders.

After breakfast you will be teleport to luxuriousness unseen by most, even Arha has not seen such decadence, and she has been to the palace of the multi-temple city of Ibis {also Megna}. Pools, streams, glades, faunna, waterfalls, and even a palatial complex with hallways more than 5 stories high with balconies, and even more chambers. Even woodlans where youths are dressed as fauns and fairies, and might even be!

~Aust attempts to contact Diamondell
Aust will attempt to contact Diamondell the night prior to their trip in an attempt to discover the status of his guest and escort. If they have not left yet, he tells them that he will be in Kandor for the next couple of days on business.

He will also pass along a report that Kandor was recently attacked by what he suspects to be a general of Orcus and there was a portal that culled almost all the souls in the city save for those in the palace. If they have any information to share on the incident he would be most appreciative.

He further reports that the city is safe for the time being, but he suspects something and so will be busy investigating and unable to recieve them in person. So on their arrival they should send up Green smoke as a signal to the ship who will then bring them aboard.

Aust will have spoken to the captain earlier during the various meeting's and told Allie that since he would be away on the investigation team he would leave the reception of the Draconian leader who was being held captive in the ruins of what is now Diamondell to her and the remaining crew (perhaps the queen if she was willing to meet with him.) so they might inquire further regarding his origins and if he possessed relevant information or proof regarding the Draconian forces the Queen was interested in. He will tell them how they will signal as well so that they are prepared to receive them.

---------------

If his guest had already left and was waiting for him, he will still inform them about the attack and will attempt to get both sides moving on locating them - as im sure Hiram would be annoyed to lose one of his priests of power in such an incident and may be thankful for their safe recovery. If they find him first and contact him, he will prepare to rescue them with haste.

From his end he will see if he can locate a caster capable of sending a magical message to someone in the city limits if he provided a capable enough description - at which point he'd see if he could discover their location and have them brought aboard if they responded. If not, he'd continue from there.

'Impressive...' Aust thinks to himself as he draws his hood to stop the morning sun, casually panning his head from left to right. He takes note of the area scanning especially for the running water of the streams and glades and if he can figure out a way around should they be lead to a bridge or stepping stone crossing point as he could not cross these under his own power.

Though a detour was just the excuse he would enjoy to get away from the group and start his investigation, he also knew that he still had little idea of the layout and could easily get lost here and find nothing that they may be interested in. So for now, he would have to stay with the group.

Worse comes to worse, perhaps he could get some servants to carry him across - or at the very least he could use the Dimensional belt pouch they had given Brug the last time this issue came up.

The priest will arrange a meeting over a ship intercom or scry-device if needed... which is what I am assuming Aust is using for his contacting...

And by contacting I suppose you mean the leaders of Diamondell {Hiram and Sharon? Or Kerafin?} Hiram merely states that it seems that Orcus is preparing for the Blood War.

To the Seraglio: {ALL +Percy}
Aust will be teleported right off the ship, and yes Aust will see that the stroll Jillian has planned through gardens will cross many small man-made streams.

The 'home' of the wives is gorgeous and a large palace itself, and yes, Dani will see the fortress-palace up close as it rises above on one side of the gardens. The main palace was clearly full of life, as walls of black robed wizards shifted as waves on the parapets. There must be hundreds looking down into the gardens of the Harem.

Jillian will move her guests into the Seraglio- out of sight of the wizards-, and to indoor luxuries. The streams and bath-halls continue. Young ladies and matrons alike dangle sexily from some of the high balconies above, all wanting to glimpse the new guests. And all of them likely unclad or wearing little at all. A few mighty eunuchs stand guard in loincloths... or you think they are eunuchs. They carry great curved swords and wear silver bracers.

There are also a few young men and boys here too, this is also the home of all of the king's children.

Most everyone is clad in thin fabric, lingerie, or nothing. So when the young man in blue-green dragon armor steps forward, it may be surprising. "Omar! Take your helmet off. We have guests. Honored guests! This is my son. The Crown Prince: Omar."

The blue-green 'dragon-knight bows before you all, clumsily removing his helmet to kneel. A man that is at most of barely legal age, but he is most handsome and very stern faced. He has his mother's gorgeous eyes, but his seem infused green-blue. He has short black hair, he is clearly Jillian's son, though he is tanner than she. He stands, looks at you all as he bows curtly, but still with grace. "I am honored for your presence. Please. May I be of any service to you. My father's wizards were quite useless..."

"Omar. Please. Your father's wizards are why you are alive. Believe me, a crown prince's soul is worth more than the entire city put together to Orcus. Hmf."

The teen dragonknight looks nervously at all of you bad-asses, and bows his head respectfully. At this age he holds his nobility well, but is blushing for the shame of the wizards' cowardice. "Nonetheless, I am at your service. Apparently, my father left me this city as my inheritance when he left. I'm not sure he plans on dying." He seems disgusted by his father, his motives seem honest and sincere.

Jillian rolls her eyes, "Yes, yes, that is unfortunate, but I can't do anything about that. But, please, son, join us. And... I think I have a new friend for you."
Omar can tell by the motion of his mother's arm toward Dani what she means by it. His ears turn beet-red, this time from embarrassment as he looks at Dani right in the eyes. Looking her up and down quickly, then looking away, he clearly found her attractive.

He looks to Bruug, then Raven, to distract himself. "I don't think you two will be too interested in what my mother has planned. Orgies and drug-dens, are likely not something these two heroes desire." He seems most impressed with these two, and will look at them like admired celebrities. His mother rolls her eyes wanting to give the full tour.

Raven took in the opulence very matter-of-factly. He couldn't imagine living in a place like this. At some point, luxury just becomes foolishness, he thinks as he scans the place.

Raven nods at the boy as a greeting. He seemed to have some sense about him, and he seemed genuine. Raven liked genuine; it was rare among folk and even rarely among nobles, he'd found. He does his best to disguise his surprise as the prince ends with something insightful.

"Indeed, young sir. I could use a decent meal, however, and perhaps you have an armory?" What he meant was "treasury" as he was after certain magical goods rather than just steel, but he thought it best to lead up to such things.

The Queen understands Arha and others desire to stay 'sharp'. She will eventually bring those of you who want to your own room each with servants. "And with a masseuse just for you!" She pokes the small of Calli's back, and actually tingles and magically relaxes the halfling for a moment. -Jasper let this brief aid get through- "My pretty elven friend would be perfect for your delicate halfling frame."

Percy whispers to Dani and Alexis, "I don't like any of this. I am riding this out with you... but I am here to glean information from this Queen. There are 1 of 2 sisters... well... maybe even 3 that we must find. Don't even bother your self with Princess Rhi, I think she's in on this whole arrangement. Arrianna's deceased older brother was her husband. And somehow became this King's 20-millionth wife not too long later. I am sure she's no fan of the Big A."

Of the fine wine that Calli partakes, the Pinor Noir is most amazing, and a recent blend from the North. From some vineyard of the Els family in the Northern Kingdom says the fancy label.

Omar will lead Raven and Bruug away from the harem and in the direction of the palace. Arha will recognize one servant-girl/wife/daughters? Though it was hard to tell some of their positions. This one wore a more 'modest' nightie that showed all her leg and more, with a matching emerald green hooded cloak. Arha's genius will easily recall this young woman's name. Jinifir, and she appeared to be one of young Omar's attendants. Seeing her beauty now before her, she could see the familial resemblance of Jinifir to Omar and the Queen.

If served a bottle of his own Els' vineyard wine, Raven will smile broadly and express some pride that it had reached this far afield. "Perhaps we should put up a super-premium reserve vintage if there's a royal market for the stuff." He sounds bemused but also probably serious.

He will at some point try to turn the discussion to the treasures of the palace. "I mentioned an armory before, but what I'm really interested in would be a treasury, or maybe a royal magic merchant if one remains after the invasion."

He didn't expect much, but he figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

OOC: I don't much care either way whether Raven gets access to a treasury or a merchant. He's quite well equipped as it is. But ICly, he'd be interested in acquiring a few things, including some healing potions and some stuff I'm not remembering right now. A merchant dealing in such things was the main thing he was hoping to find in such a large city.

Arha

At the sight of Jinifir, Arha turns her head, she remembers the girl. Jinifir wouldn't shut up when she should have and took the matter right out of her hands at that time. She doesn't even want to see the stupid girl. Some people don't use the brains they were given.

She'll continue onwards and when she finally gets her room, she'll turn in for a long period of relaxation and contemplation.

((Was she allowed to bring any of her crew with her? Or were they all left on the ship?))

Splitting Up:
Prince Omar will explain to Raven that all the city's merchants were killed. He will urge Raven onto the main palace and assures him that he has a few healing potions, if that is all he needs. Pointing out the wine, young Omar will say that, "Those grapes were already legendary, but your family brought them to a new level."

As for the tourney at Sunhaven, he wants to go to the coming tourney, as the Sunhaven tourney is becoming one of the most popular events in the last couple years. It has attracted a world-wide audience as competitors from around the globe test their mettle with the best. Raven was still likely reigning world-wrestling champ for the last two years. Omar, knows this and more, including acquiring a taste for Els wine.

Queen Jillian would have transported Arha's staff. Her dragon associate seems capable of teleporting a lot.

Dani, Percy, and Alexis:
Will accompany Jillian deeper into the harem....

Arha's Room:
Arha will have a larger room than any of you, and wonderful view of the destroyed harbor, and likely former rich merchant district. Still the ocean view is fabulous, as is the service. She will find her servants are actual princesses and future wives of the King. These will be half-elven nieces of Ibis, and through them contact with her far-away 'friend' can be made.

Calli and the Masseuse:
Calli's room will be far under the size of Arha's not that the little halfling would notice, and the view of the inner garden courtyard is not too bad. The elven lady is incredibly attractive too.

The Spotted Dragon: {Raven, Bruug and.... ?}
In a large palace hall Raven and Bruug will be wowed and almost ready for combat as the black wizards of the palace telekinetically open the grand throne room. It is big, but currently has only one occupant, draped over the king's former dais. A massive dragon which yes fits on the grand throne's stair. The hall is 200 feet high, with gothic arches, decorated in purple, gold and black. All of this is missed though, as the dragon is so 'fearful'. Though Bruug and Raven are merely 'impressed' by it.

"Welcome. You've both impressed us very much. Welcome. From the draconic council. All Hail the Great Dragon."
The dragon says the last part in draconic, and Prince Omar will say it as the dragon does, as if in praise. The last part is also said by the attending staff of Omar, but none of the dozen or so black robed, middle-aged wizard looking fellows. What is most strange about this two toned dragon is that it is base green with blue spots of varying shapes and sizes, and appear to provide so sort of camouflage given the right environment. In this opulent throne room, this spotted dragon might look ridiculous.

Ending Calls
"Very well, stay safe - I shall contact you again when I am finished with these affairs." Aust will respond ending his conversation with his priest contact there. Though he was curious what side Hiram and the forces at Diamondell would end up taking in the coming blood war, he would not voice such curiosity at this time.

----------------
At the palace
'I do hope she was sent a legitimate masseuse.' Aust smirks slightly with a chuckle imagining what might transpire. "You'd think with that magic sonic armor there would be a massage setting or something." He jokes lightly.

Aust felt that Brug and Raven were capable and level headed enough to protect and handle themselves regardless of events ; Calli and Arha were likely wise enough to handle things in moderation - so despite their seperation from a group he did not worry at this time about them.

So, as the least likely to be drugged or enchanted in some manner Aust decided to escort those who would be joining Jillian for the time being.

Dani, Aust, Alexis, and Percy will be taken to an underground beach. With magical sun, and even illusionary horizon. Aust will at least be impressed with the level of magic used to create this, even if he sees right through it.

Scores of naked women are here and seem happy to see you. Percy scowls, looking among them for a man. There is a beach with some sort of mechanized wave system, the ladies swim naked, and the party atmosphere seems to be welcoming.

Even Aust will be showered with kisses.

A gorgeous young woman, on the level of Jillian's beauty will be introduced. "My niece and sister-wife, Essie." A blue-haired, blue eyed noble girl, in only a black-gold camisole. Essie will attempt to get the ladies naked, and involved in the naked volleyball-like game.

Dani nods in understanding of Percy's words. "Do you want me to see what I can find out from the Prince?" she whispers back. Giving Prince Omar a warm smile before she, Alexis and Percy are bustled off with Queen Jillian...

When they reach the underground beach, she gasps in amazement. And can't help but admire the 'scenery', as it were, smiling at Essie. "I'm Danielle, it's nice to meet you. But you can call me Dani," she says, as she needs little encouragment to strip down and join in the game of 'volleyball' with a broad grin on her face.

During Dani's volleyball match, she will be disturbed by a telepathic message from Jasper. "Dani, Alexis! Calli was in trouble. She has captured an elf! She may be in further danger!"

Jillian will be getting attended to by several younger ladies, and will not have a stitch of clothing. She is consumed with her attendants 'attention', and will send Essie off with Dani to take her to the guest quarters. Dani and Aust saw the Queen smoke vast quantities of a black paste.

Blue-haired, Essie leads on, where they will find Calli and her captive, a pretty brunette elf in a see-through nightie. She is out-cold, and Essie is surprised by the obvious signs of combat. It seems Calli got a little burnt with magical fire, but is none too worse the wear. Probably mostly pissed off. {Aust can of course go with them if he wants or stay with drugged up Queen.}

No stranger to draconic majesty, Raven had once stood before Bahamut himself after all, Raven took in the scene with a tactician's eye. Still, the sight of a spotted dragon, especially in so royal a setting, is hard to believe. Beats pink, I guess. The Royal Court of Kandor is full of surprises today.

"Thank you," Raven offers in Draconic before continuing in common, "You were expecting us then? And have us at a disadvantage as seems to happen to us often." Raven smiles wryly.

As Aust was not contacted, he doesn't sense that something is happening until the queen dismisses Essie to act as an escort and lead Dani somewhere.

'Nothing unreasonably strange, but best to stay alert just in case and stay with the target. Lets keep everyone distracted while they gather some more intelligence.' Aust contemplates, not minding stripping as he can fight decently without armor as well and in a real emergency he could teleport his armor and shield to him, barring some sort of interference. With magic this strong around, it was entirely possible that they could 'interfere' in that manner if they really wanted to...

First he has a little fun, occasionally smirking as his fidgeting with the dials of his goggles reveals a number of various falsehoods - some possibly personal. He is adamant about keeping his goggles, though he wears them in a relaxed fashion on top of his head with the strap along the back - so it could be disarmed or taken if someone was crafty enough.

After he is done with his minute or two of survey(at which point Dani and Essie are probably leaving - which is why he lifted his goggles.), he decides to take better advantage of the queens 'hospitality' and not be so dull - as he joins the festivities primarily as a distraction - first by stripping (possibly with a little dance) before he can substitute for Dani. He wont try to win - unless they're very competitive and he has to use tricks just to stay in the game; since he's slightly worried that he could probably break a nose of make big duvet if he stuck the ball hard enough.

Calli's Suite:
The pretty elf stirs, sneers, and growls at Calli like she is possessed once awakened. With her mere knowledge of Arcana, Arha can tell this woman is effected magically, and might even be geased. Which is clearly the magic of the silver IUD. Arha is starting to see the magic now, her skill is increasing, as she now hones in on the magic of the small silver device.

In fact, as this pretty blue-haired Essie enters with Dani, clad much-more clothing, Arha will believe that Essie is under the effect of some similar GEAS.

Aust on the "Beach":
Your friendly, neighborhood Moon-elf, will notice that after Dani, Alexis, and Essie have been gone 20 minutes, the Queen will look up quite perturbed, and scurry off suddenly, not bothering to dress, followed by all her scantily clad attendants. Percy will have been near her, and will look to Aust silently for back-up. {He is supposed to be ambassador...}

With the Green/Blue Polka-dot Dragon:
"It should be no surprise to you, Lord Raven. We dragons appreciate the work you Phoenix-borne have done. We are more closely related than you might recall. There are dark times that have come to this realm. This planet. The demons were but an inkling of what may come."

Aust gives percy a quick nod to signal him to follow as he moves quickly to not fall behind the queens entourage or lose her. "To me, my shirt and shield." He mutters quickly to activate the 'called' function of his armor to teleport his chain shirt and shield onto himself; the outfit looks somewhat different without pants especially since the remainder of the chain shirt seems somewhat like a skirt that drapes down to the thighs - this of course overlaps slightly with the loincloth making it look like a strange tunic extension (since there is a tunic over the chest of the armor).

*If the queen isn't running but just walking fast/double speed.
"Is there a problem your majesty? Can we be of assistance?" Aust adds knowing full well something probably happened, likely with his own people but he was going to keep up the charade of friendship so long as it was not a danger to himself.

*If the queen is fleeing instead - faster then double move ; or at a run.
Aust follows at pace barefooted attempting to move quietly despite the pace - hoping the queen loses his footsteps in the muffle of the others obviously following her and doesn't look back. He gets the feeling there is more to be gained from the situation by not alerting her to his presence for now.

If a servant or those in her entourage try to slow him (without what he feels is reason - ex: if there's a guard at a doorway that tells him he cant enter somewhere - he'll respect that - if the girls try to blockade the hall without saying anything or try to grab him - he will not accept that) he simply turns to mist quickly and back to solid form once past them before continuing so as to avoid harming the staff.

No problem at all. Please. My attendants will aid you." She waves a girl over with blue-black streaked hair. "Kyra will gladly help you. I must to business right away."

When Percy and Aust attempt to follow her down the noble-halls, 5 black robed wizards will materialize before him, hoods covering their faces, and they block the way. Jillian will seem wholly unaware of them, and ignores any calls. Their mere presence crackles with power. Percy says nothing, and mutters. "Archmages. Perhaps we should see if Arha knows anything about this." Percy says with a little suspicion in his voice.

If Aust follows, Percy will make his way to the guest quarters of Arha. They will be led by Essie's sister, another wife of the Queen. Arha when meeting this young lady, Kyra will suspect she too is under the effects of a geas, but will need further magical investigation to prove it.

"Precisely why we must declare a Civil War!!" Exclaims the young Prince who is boiling over with fury.

"You may do so, my young dragon-knight, but you will not have my aid. Your human business is your business. And none of my business. Even if I wanted to battle these scores of archmages gathered above in this palace. I could maybe kill so many. But, then what. Another dead dragon. I... I too am a coward, but many of the brave dragons are no longer with us."

Omar slams his fist into his other scaled hand clanging loudly. He is strong for a teen. A wizard steps forward to explain things to Raven and Bruug, clearing his throat first. He looks angrily at the wizards gathered here. One of the old fellows with a long bushy white beard flies forward. "We are allies great Bruug and Lord Raven. We prepare for a great battle, come join us in the battle for humanity. We too have prepared similar powers to your Phoenix. Apocalyptic powers that will help in the fight against this demonic invasion." The ancient archmage cackles gleefully. His face covered, and hooded, though his old voice is clear and would be recognizable. "Your interest in this city is a dead end. Go seek this debauched King. We have no interest in him, or if his son is the figurehead of this throne. Omar take the guests back to the Seraglio. There is no place for them here. The palace proper is full."

Aust has never felt such an incredible urge to follow Percy. He is powerless, not sexually, but as if this bard had become an Epically powered priest. He will be entranced by Percy by the time they arrive at Arha's doors. The skeletons open the door for him as if they were under his orders.

Once inside Percy tries to speak, but Arha will see that his flesh turns pale blue-blackish and his voice takes on a familiar form. The demon Luxurious was a greater demonlord, and the incubus was in the room with her now. At least living through the bard. " Too much time is wasted! Your soul is mine now!!" Arha will be powerless as Percy takes demonic form, and smash Arha into a bed, sucking the life from her.

Aust can do nothing, but gape at the epic power this demon displays.
Arha could do nothing, and will watch as she is about to be slain by Luxurious's rage. Saving her will be a bevy of erinyes rain glowing green nets upon the demon. A great tussle occurs, that is ended when an even more epic power appears in the room in a massive poof of brimstone. Arha's huge bedroom is damaged, but large enough to hold this epic display of power. Arha is battered and beaten, and barely conscious. Aust will be even in more awe. Belial's avatar steps into the room, a hugely charismatic being wearing only a massive loincloth. His wings are tucked, and he grabs the demonlord among the erinyes's nets.

Belial is huge right now, and holds the incubus in the palm of his hand. This 'incubus' is still Percy-transformed.

Aust and Arha are taken to Hell, somewhere. Belial's queens attend them, and it all seems to be a fleeting dream, when you wake up moments later, in the messed up room of Arha. Arha is naked on the ground, and she looks a little different. First thing will be the fangs, horns, and red eyes of the red head.

What was once Percy is a mangled piece of human pulp, still staining the floor. There is no sign of Belial, Glaysia, or his other queens. Arha and Aust will feel as if time has passed, but it will be fleeting memories.

Arha looks different, she has been touched by a archduke of hell, and gifted by his Erinyes. She is beautiful like a demi-goddess, and there seems to be more than a few running amuck around here....

Though annoyed, Aust was not about to draw the wrath of a pack of robes for something like this and nods slightly in agreement as they turn around and move away. "At the very least, I think it would be best to rally." He comments to Percy's suggestion of finding Arha - mainly because he thinks they are vulnerable targets separately.

'Something isnt right, I meant to go back for my pants but why cant I stop?' Aust contemplates for a moment watching the flow of energy. 'Percy does not have the will or the power to control me - hell i've controlled him before... What is going on?' Aust thinks as he suddenly finds himself compelled to follow as their pace changes.

He watches the scene unfold before him, occasionally twitching as he tries to force his movement unsuccessfully against the sheer power that pressed against him like a body stuck in a cast. His cooperation and loyalty had only been pressed so far by this power so he sat cursing in his head - and strangely it seemed as if it was answered.

Unfortunately, it seemed his vengence on this force and the protection of Arha came at a price as his eyes locked on the remains of the bard. "No~ Ugh..." Aust mumbles in pain but as a creature that knows no fatigue and heals quickly he is able to at least push himself to this degree.

He strikes the floor once in anger with a wet splat from percy's remains before he attempts to pocket a small bit for possible ressurection, knowing the body is not in tact enough to restore as it is and was not about to gather it all up.

He manages to make his way over to Arha's side after this. "Are you alright?" Aust questions before quickly adding. "Can you stand? I think it is dangerous to stay here much longer..." He adds curiously looking her over for a moment making sure she wasn't in any immediate peril, knowing it was entirely likely that the castle mages might respond to something like this very soon and was ready to carry her to safety if necessary.

Aust pauses for a moment and whispers something to Arha as they receive the sudden sending.

"Responsible for this! I didn't ask to get almost killed, or to be rescued and you are obviously incapable of helping anyone, so don't bother, I'll take care of myself. You can report whatever you feel like."

She isn't owing him anything, all she wants is a long bath to get rid of this feeling. She certainly isn't going to keep this a secret, how would she, there's no way to hide this change.

'Worked just as I'd hoped.' Aust thinks to himself, he knew Arha was a strong and independently willed individual and was not one for kid gloves of coddling ; all she needed was a little motivation and now she was prepared in case of trouble.

"But you were his target, for a reason I think other then convenience." He adds frowning slightly. "To my misfortune I was not able to then, but I am now and will if you would but allow me." He adds in response to being unable to help anyone before he gestures with his hand dismissively. "Believe what you will though, but we are pressed for time with a minimum of five black robbed arch mages in this castle."

'If they can respond to the sending - "Short story, Percy became possessed, tried to kill Arha and got killed by another demon, royal involvement unknown. Recall advised." To the second sending. Merie is horrified by the scene, "The magnitude of power here is unbelievable! Especially minutes ago. I hope you are ready... to leave..." Merie realizes she is talking to Arha in a new form.

Ema smirks, and points to an interesting seal on Arha's back right shoulder, mostly hidden by the red feathery wings, matching Arha's hair color. "Tis the mark of Belial (http://www.fromoldbooks.org/Mathers-Goetia/tn/068-Seal-of-Belial-q100-500x500.jpg)" Ema is fascinated, and for a moment, Aust might be afraid that Arha's charm will pull her away from him. She appears as a devil-demigoddess, even goo covered.

Merie will answer Arha's last question as if she heard it, "We can see this place is going to take a lot more power to take down. Allie wants to recall all of you to the ship, at least aiding destroyed city is some good...

But, I do believe, we may have stumbled VERY close to this problem we've been having with the nobles."

Hall of the Spotted Dragon:
The old wizard lifts his head so Bruug could see through the bushy unkempt white beard. "Me? I am unimportant, but my name is Adeodatus. My friends call me A-deo." He drops the hood to show his long messy hair, many wizards were unkempt. Too much time in the library, very little time for hygiene. "We have no interest in this King. But, I dare say you should join us in the Blood War. This material plane will be overrun with demons otherwise." He smiles, as if all of this were exciting.

"You could come with us Bruug to the dragons. Away from all this. Destiny is only a pathway. You make your own future. That other Bruug. He is already changed. In fact, when you became Irda, he left this world. I must stay here to protect this youth. I trust not these wizards either and would execute any myself if it is found one betrayed us to Orcus."

"Your council is free to... interview us. There are about 200 archmages, maybe another 3 grand in other various wizards. I am sure it will be a piece-of-cake." He opens his arms to the dragon, staying at the foot of the huge dais, below the dragon.

"I would never read your thoughts. They are clouded and delusional, even if they are in truth allied. I am afraid I would not believe anything I got from your mind. Or ANY of your dark robed wizards."
The old wizard says nothing, but does smirk.

"If you have no other business in the palace, I dare say, why don't you join the crew of your... flying ship, and clean-up this place. It sure isn't our job." He says and the dozen or so wizards here chuckle.

Prince Omar doesn't know what to do, he didn't seem to expect this at all.

Unlike Dani, Calli won't be trusting Essie to not be bugged as well. In fact, she's certain that all the Queens, concubines, and slaves of the palace are infected.

Essie is shocked, but will comport herself calmly as she is led away to the brig. "I assure you. I am the least of your troubles."

The elf is already passed, and like Percy it will be found, cannot be raised. An officer's burial will be prepared for the pilot-bard. Merie will send word to the Elven Council about this rogue elf.

Jasper telepathically speaks to Calli, "I daresay you can take the device from Essie, however..."

Allie is apologetic to all specialists who get recalled here.

Arha and Aust will likely appear here next with Merie and the priestess-vamp, Ema.

Arha will nod once, "I need to collect up a few things before we go." So much for a bit of luxury, oh well. She doesn't even remark on her new mark.

Raven nods in agreement with the old-timer, though only a part of it actually sounds right to his ears.

"Perhaps we best be getting back to the ship, as you say. I'm not about to be dragooned into fighting in the Blood War, particularly by someone whose patron wants us dead." He looks to Bruug with a sideways nod with the universal meaning, "let's get out of here."

Bruug just looks at the dragon, obviously tempted by his offer. Raven's words snap him out of his thoughts, causing the Irda to turn his head towards his companion in time to see his nod. After staring at Raven for a few moments, Bruug nods back.

Turning back towards the dragon, Bruug bows respectfully once more. "While I appreciate your offer, I must decline. I am needed on our ship for now. Perhaps we shall meet on the field of battle in the future. After all, even the dragons cannot afford to remain neutral during this Blood War."

"None of us," Aust comments expecting none of them got that far just like Arha suspected. "Though some may have gone to investigate something," He adds with an 'we can hope' sense to the words.

Aust is not afraid of losing his first, in fact he had no real connection to Ema other then his masters bond - in fact there was a part of him that thought she was weak for taking advantage of him during a time of duress to achieve eternal youth and immortality, petty goals he did not approve of. If he felt foreign power was simply stronger then this, he had no problem ending the bond if he had the feeling they would maintain such powers indefinitely ; mainly so he had the possibility of controlling more spawn through said bond.

If anything he'd be a little spiteful or angry that someone was using power to compromise the integrity of the master servant relationship for an extended period and seize authority from him. He'd wait to see if influence waned over an extended period (so long as he didnt need to recruit, new spawn he'd wait) and if he ever had power over her at any point (if he felt they were still trying to keep Ema indefinitely) he'd order Ema to kill herself at that point out of spite for the other person.

Because yes, while rebukes or domination spells are nice - they cannot usually force their subjects to commit suicidal actions - compared to a masters bond where they were forced to obey regardless of the order or their will on the matter.

Once back on the ship aust looks around "Please excuse me, I need to get some new pants it seems." He adds noticing that some of his clothing had been left at the palace. "I'll return, but call or fetch me if something urgent come's up."

Red Zephyr:
Dani is no help saving the elf, and in fact she may have made matters worse.

Essie looks strangely at Dani when she is kissed on the cheek.
Alexis holds Dani, but will hold back tears stoically when news of Percy's death reaches them.

Allie does check out Aust's moon-elf butt on his way down to his chambers in the lower decks. Blushing she whispers to Calli, "A little boney... and cold..." :smalltongue:

Currently the ship is sonically probing a market area for any signs of life in the sewers. There will be another rich lady here, this is Tunia, who created the orphanage in the North. Currently, she is decked out like a high ranking black leathered guild-thief. Her brown hair in a ponytail meant for business. She eyeballs Calli carefully, "This is who you're seeing now? Cute." The athletic shapely brunette smirks. She arrived late to the Captain's chamber as Aust leaves. "I was afraid the stink would hit the wheel-spokes. They tried to get one of them... thingies inside you. Yeah. I really hate those things. I gave up my inheritance to avoid that $#!*"

Palace with Dragon and Wizards:
The dragon seems to smile, in response to Bruug, but hides it well. Though not from Raven and Bruug. "Understood. I know this young prince would love to gallivant his way along with you, but I am afraid he is under our protection and will need to stay here."

Adeo nods in mock grim, "Yes, he might even be King already with his father gone missing. You never know in this empire."

The Prince bows before the two departing heroes. "I pledge my blade, as long as it is MY freewill to give."

"Touching, but I'm afraid you've done even too much already. Your mother will take over from here." Adeo assures the prince.

Raven and Bruug will be contacted with the delayed messages the moment the wizards lead them away to be teleported. They will reach Allie's quarters via teleport with no problems.

Tunia will be curious about Arha when she arrives.
"Allie. Your ship is bad ass. What have I been missing? She's an ally?"

Allie will study Arha and see she can tell Arha would like to be excused to her chambers. "Yes. She's got some powerful friends. But, you might too if you married an emperor..."

"I don't think she got married... Did you?" Once again a noble shows interest in the enigma that is Arha.

"Arha... you can get cleaned up if you want. We can talk later. I apologize for your trouble. Did not realize the whole harem was infested with demons." As Allie says this she instinctively pulls Calli to her side at her large desk.

When Raven and Bruug arrive Allie and Merie will fuss over them, and will want to know everything they just experienced outside their monitoring devices range.

Tunia looks to Dani, regarding her question, though does look impressed by the Irda in the room. She nods to Raven, she doesn't seem to know what the Irda is. "Some might know of the devices. Maybe. If they do, they'll try to conspire to get them out. I..." She bows her head ashamedly, "I was hired to kill those who sought to stop.... them. I was to kill the famed Orcslayers... but I was saved. By a beautiful sorceress... and I never even had the device within me." Her eyes appear wet as she sighs sadly and looks to Raven. For he knows of who Tunia speaks.

Tunia moves with grace, and is very smooth, she can move without even making it seem like she is moving, and fast. This woman is at least a rogue on par in experience with any among you. She will walk Arha to the door, and her movement seems like an art form it is so agile. Allie grumbles, "Well, Brains, you figure that out, because I want to find my own a-holes to cull. By the way gang, the King is fair game by the way. I heard word the empress wants to hold off on an all-out war with Kandor. Sounds like this prince-kid is promising, least better than dad. Maybe we can put him on the throne. If you know what I mean... maybe I'm not done with assassins." Allie looks back to smiling Tunia who is shaking her head no. Allie will listen dearly to Arha, as will Tunia and Merie.

Merie's guess is that Arha was been transformed into an Erinyes. "Likely sometime when you were in Hell. Do you remember what plane? Was not the cold ones... Or 1, 9, or the hidden one... Hmm..." Unless she sees the seal.

Bruug by this time will be with Arrianna.

Ema will have retired to be with Aust in their lower chambers. The destroyed mid-ship still in disarray, but there has been some clean-up.

The rest of you can be in the Captain's quarters or about. Allie will be going back to the main deck once she has spoken to Arha. Merie and Tunia will ask more about Hell, but Arha's memories are purposefully hazy. She can tell.

Around about the time Allie arrived back on the command deck, a massive lightning strike blasted the ship, shutting several of the guns off before shields are put up in proper defense.

All of you will be called to battle stations. By the time 3 jolts have shaken the entire ship you will be told that there is a 'cloaked' cloud firing laser-lightning down upon the Zephyr. Shields can hold for a bit, but the guns are currently down.

The 'cloud' is likely a massive gunship hidden above. Merie has the ability to ship-port you up there, but doesn't know the conditions. Currently, Allie is trying to retreat, but the cloud above is more maneuverable.

Bruug and Arrianna:

The 'rear' of this great cloud is a big puffiness that is magical, and you will bounce if you land on the cloud.

You will get the attention of several white skinned blue-tinged giants, their ogre servants, and an ogre-magi in black and purple robes. There is a central control region made of stone. A raised platform in which 4 of the white-blue giants operate looking into a scry-screen. They are roughly 18 feet tall.

There are ogres in armor nearby, some in leather, others in robes. All of these giant-kin are well-dressed, even the armored military ogres.

At the moment they are surprised, but a few nearby ogres seem to be expecting this, and will bound toward you.

However, you all will get one surprise round.

The platform is about 300 feet long, and the control 'tower' is about 150' from you all, at the 'back' edge.

There also seem to be stone living quarters, and possibly other stone structures. The stone is an odd blue-grey color.

2 armored ogres clumsily rush from guard towers #1 and #7, closest to you all.

The giant home surrounded by colossal redwoods, is an observatory. Currently, the white robed cloud giant there merely observes passively.
The 4 cloud giants on the raised command deck in the center of all this are definitely reacting, many painfully from the fireball, but only the ogre-crew there wearing cloth-garb are hurt significantly.

"Kill the Irda! Kill the Jumping one!! And bring me the female-folk!!!" Screams the ogre-magi in black-purple robes speaking giantese. He has light green skin and long white hair, he is slightly stooped, and may be aged.

Raven grows, and will still move easily about. The same can't be said for the armored ogre, and anyone who isn't dexterous or 'jumpy'.

Calli is delicate enough that she can hide in the cloud whiffs, and pull herself along. She will actually get bonuses to hide in the whiffs, especially from giant-folk. Silly giant-folk. So, over-confident. Calli will find the mist exhilarating and odd. There is some sort of fly effect that keeps movement in the cloud going up, and she can use it to bump her way along low. Aust contemplated staying behind for a time, in case the enemy decided to board as well. But one, if the enemy was going to do that they would have likely done so by now and two, it seemed the ship had some features to avoid such mishaps.

So reluctantly he decided to go with the away team. Aust quirks a brow slightly at the texture of the surface beneath him as he looks around. 'It's like a little floating community. Homes, houses, crops... Guards.' Granted everything on a bigger scale to compensate for the large and huge occupants.

"Guess i'll flank right and slow down guard reinforcement from that direction then." Aust adds noticing everyone's focus on the center. True destroying key systems and personnel was probably a more efficient way of going about it - if they intended to crash this vessel. However at the moment, Aust was more concerned with learning who was behind this attack and possibly shanghaiing an advanced magical vessel for the war effort.

Besides if no one distracted the guards - then his team wouldn't be able to put the hurt to the center since they'd have to deal with those nuisances. Aust quaffs a potion and then rushes the group from tower seven leaping upon the lead.

Cloud Battle:
Bruug will take a moment to get used to the bouncy, airy quality that is the ground movement on this magically enhanced cloud-base floor. His movement rate is the same due to the arcing nature, but he will get some more air. He manages some grace, but is not as swift as the high-flying Raven who seems to prefer this kind of battleground. From the left, at guard-tower #1 come the two nearest ogres, they endanger his companions. {DM action} With one swipe he can kill one with a charge, and follow through with a mighty cleave! The spray of ogre blood may sadden him... were they in control of their minds?

Tunia is no where to be seen. Calli saw her duck into the shadows of the cloudy ground, into the strange source of the magical 'bounce'.

Arha will have plenty of time to cast as she flies up. She will need to be careful about retreating off the cloud. It moves rapidly, and she will be separated by hundreds of feet if she leaves the cloud-base's field. Her summoning will be a success!

Aust will find he is quite effective in this bouncy environment. He will execute and drain the ogre much to the shocked horror of the other soldier ogre, who was slow to advance due to the fact he is tumbling in circles in the air out of control. {This is toward guard-tower #7}

Calli would like to get to those important giant-types now, but she knows what she can do best, and flying high will be dangerous. Her best tactic will have been to approach the surprise round and this round, in the shadows of the cloudy ground. Flying will enhance her ability to move in it. By the next round she can set up to kill any of the remaining giant-kin on the command deck. None will be aware of her. The light green-skinned ogre-magi will have retreated by this time however....

The nearest ogre Raven can strike is the one tumbling harmlessly, and he can splice this ogre in half, and take a spectacular leap. His jumping ability is doubled, and he can move on more toward distant targets. Though in the direction of guard-tower #1, and toward the ogre-shrine, there are barracks with even more ogres prepping and running madly about to arm themselves.

Dani powers-up with something... {DM has no idea what RTA is.} Once again the ogre-magi shrugs it off in critical fashion! The light-green skinned ogre-magi immediately turns to gas form, and sinks into the 40 foot control-tower itself. It says nothing in response to the might of the surprising lady-psion.

The four cloud giants on the command deck seem to ignore the party for now, content that the warrior-ogres will deal with all of you, and the retreat of the ogre-magi bothers them in the least, it seems. More blasts hit the Zephyr. Finally the Zephyr responds, but the return-fire hits a mighty force-shield which prevents the Zephyr's laser blasts from damaging anything on this cloud-base. You will need to find a way to destroy this thing up here. :belkar:

The cloud giant in the redwoods will retreat, though unleashes a little magic that causes some of the mighty redwood to 'uproot' and start walking toward you.

The nearest ogres are at the barracks, and there may be about 20 over there, possibly more. There are even many more ogres by the large vegetable crops, and fruit trees in the fore-part of the cloud-base. Only armored ogres make moves toward you. This is a crowded moon-base. With mostly ogres.

Arha's partially decayed wyvern roars out in crude draconic, a hello when it comes through the portal from Hel's domain. It roars happily. Those speaking draconic understood it to be, "Thank you! Again!"

Aust 64/54 HP ; 10 temporary.

Aust's attention quickly turns to the giant caster for a moment as he had apparently decided no longer to remain parked and complacent. Aust attempts to follow his life force to see where he had retreated. (Did he just run back inside his house, or did he run to a specific area?)

Spot[roll0]

He smirks at the other ogre guards nervousness and adds "Next?" In a curious tone. If it were just the two ogres here aust would probably rip through them in under a minute - but staying stationary with a whole bunch of moving redwoods coming towards you is likely to make you end up looking like the remains of a lumberjack who forgot which way to cut the tree. And unfortunately, ogre's and giants minds were wired differently then regular people so he couldnt hold them down and dominate them with his powerful eyes - if he could he would have ordered them to go guard an important place - thus effectively leading him to a location - but that was not to be the case this day (Since giant is it's own creature type and not considered humanoid which is is the type dominate person can control).

Jump[roll1]

Aust retreats forward past the two remaining guards - hoping to draw them and possibly a portion of the trees off the main group. (Do I see the 'interesting/important building' at this point?)

As far as wyvern targets go... at the moment, the only other caster it appears is the cloud giant in the redwoods. The ogre-magi went gaseous, and the cloud giant was in closer range. This arcane giant was hidden, but not invisible among the sparse trees, though he was trying to step behind the 'interesting' building. The Wyvern bruises the giant's arm badly as it slams down on him. The giant tried to avoid it.

Bruug can bounce over to cut off the path of the ogres by the barracks. They will be quite intimidated, and are not rushing to their deaths against him. {DM action...}

Tunia is nowhere to seen....

Arha sees just enough movement to target the caster-giant, even able to fry electricity through a redwood or two, just in case any of them start to move too. Arha will splinter two redwoods, but only minorly bother the giant. He does scowl in annoyance and appears to retreat more behind the 'interesting' building.

Aust will be moving among the on-coming trees and will have no trouble seeing the 'interesting' buildings, nor the rest of the structures, on this fairly crowded cloud craft. He will also see the casting cloud giant pulling away, and trying to avoid the undead wyvern trying to eat him.

Calli will be able to pounce on the cloud giant caster if she wants to switch targets... {DM action} This old giant doesn't see her coming and she hits him right in the femoral artery! Blood sprays and he cries out, but Calli's mighty sneak attack fails to kill. She is covered in pale-blue blood, drenched in fact as the giant's blue-blood rains on her. He looks down, and the hobbit will see fear in this giant's pale eyes.

Raven will bound toward the cloud giants on the command deck, and it will take him a round to get there... {DM action}

Dani {DM puts a placeholder here...}

The caster-giant in the redwoods casts defensively, and teleports away. Redwoods around the 'interesting' building move too! The animated trees are slow, but the wyvern is near some. It is battered, but manages to survive the mighty limb-thrashing it receives.

The ogres facing Bruug slow up, and only the black armored officers push forward with glee. They violently lead the general warrior-ogres, though the warriors are clearly not "into" this fight with Bruug. The rest maybe, but not the Irda.

The cloud giants on the command deck, as well as other ogre-officers are suddenly engulfed in an OBSCURING MIST. Raven knows they are in there, and a few rocks come flying at him as a reminder. The large rocks all miss.

Of course.

Only by standing up to him and his kind will our people be free! Join us!"

Arha's Wyvern will not be able to escape the tall redwoods, their reach is too much. It can batter one of the redwoods as it tries to make its way to the Cloud-Giant control tower. {It will be struck as it escapes the animated redwoods, however will be able to reach the tower next round. Heavily wounded.}

The black-armored ogre-officers scream out, looking to one of the ogre-officers in the rear-guard. "Make note of any who hesitate!! I shall deal with them later!! Kill the IRDA!!!! Garrr!!!!" This ogre-officer seems to really not like Bruug, and is one of the few armored ogres that can move on the bouncy cloud-ground. He leaps straight into Bruug's range...

Tunia was in the teleport room... right?

There are 4 trees close enough together, they had tried to smash the wyvern. Arha's fireball turns them all to ashen cinders. The wyvern had moved by this time, so Arha was free to fry away the clump of trees. Her fireball did extra damage it seems to these trees... even if they are fire-resistant redwood trees.... :smallwink:

Aust summons his creatures {they will need to be flying creatures of the night...} Some of the redwood trees that had been moving will be able to reach him, due to him walking. The trees move slow, and do not bounce, as if rooted in the cloud, they pull themselves along at 15' per round.

Calli will see the caster-giant teleported away as she screamed, then a fireball just went off on her, evaporating 4 giant animated redwood trees. Calli still sticky in the giant's blue blood will now be covered in warm ash from the burnt trees, the heat of the fireball will be felt for sure. She will be unharmed. In all this powder, the sharp eyes of the hobbit will spot a giant stone door on the 'interesting' building's Northern side.

Raven is a firebolt through the mist, put still is unable to avoid getting coated in a clear ectoplasm that now sizzles and burns his skin. He is coated in acid, as he cuts up an important looking cloud-giant. The 'mist' does NOT cover the control-deck, and Raven can see here under the mist. Raven rips 3 major slices in the giant at the central control table, before he realizes his own mithril plate is showing through the glamer, and crumbling off, revealing the black leather underneath. His fancy armor is destroyed, and his black leather is in danger. He is also hurt for some acidic damage. {d-12}
Raven can also unleash his shocking grasp into the giant, which surprises this long white haired fellow a lot, though doesn't kill him at all.

The mass of ogres coming up on Bruug is pretty packed. Dani thinks she dropped about 10 maybe to 13 of them, though they all tumble about in a confused mess, making their progress and the officer's difficult. Literally there are ogres flying about all over, one even bounces over the side of the flying cloud-base. That ogre falls and cannot fly, it quickly descends to the ocean far below and seemingly behind...
Dani's psionic blast definitely caused even more confusion than she planned with all the tumbling and bouncing about among the ogres now.

Bruug makes short work of the ogre-officer that came at him, further making the other officers' job harder to keep up morale. A few ogres all berzerked up will come at Bruug, he can tell by the frothing in their mouths he may have to kill these ones. Other ogres were already clamoring away from their officers, even taking blows from some.

Aust is battered hard by a few redwood trees as he slowly walks by. These things, though easily burnt, are no joke, and strike hard! {d: 9 after DR!}

Calli is noticed too by a nearby animated redwood tree, that swipes twice at her and misses. Though she sure felt the mighty swoosh of the colossal branch over head, blowing ash all over!

Raven will likely be in shock now that his fine invincible armor is crumbling off of him, however 4 officer ogres charge at him, and try to grapple him. Even without the armor Raven is hard to touch, and he easily avoids the 4 ogre-officers.

The injured 'captain' cloud-giant steps away from combat to drink a potion and heal a decent bit of Raven's damage. This giant seems unusually calm. And works on one of the stone tables with flashing magic lights, and pulsating with electrical colors. It seems to come alive as he touches the artfully carved stone surface. These "tables" all look different, and have a place to sit at.

The other 3 giants on the tower are not as calm, and stand from their controls, wielding huge stone bats. These 3 wait for the out-come of the four ogre-officers trying to rip Raven limb-from-limb very unsuccessfully. At this time you all will notice the cloud-base stops firing its cannons at the Red Zephyr. Though you are not sure the condition of the Red Zephyr. There was no big kaboom.

In Aust's own unusual calm amidst this chaos, he will see the lifeforce of the gaseous ogre-magi creeping along the ground in the cloud at a good pace {60 ft/rd}, toward the 'important' looking building, which looks like a giant's stone mansion, by the circle of colossal pillars in front of the giant vegetable gardens.

{OOC- All of you likely heard Raven's groan of pain as he 'leaped' through through the mist, even in his 'flame' form.}

He was about to make an angry comment at the tree, but one he realized how foolish that would be and two - he had just been shown something very interesting.

"Found~ you..." Aust smirks dragging out the phrase as he dashes off quickly after the ogre magi who is in mist form. Aust could not allow the ogre magi into the mansion, because if he did he would be unable to follow him inside without invitation and that wasn't likely to happen. He tears through the ogre, most likely in futility - but wanted to see if he could stop him.

"AREA SPELLS SHOOT HERE!!! THE PURPLE ROBED MAGI IS ESCAPING!" Aust adds with a dramatic point practically at his own feet serving as a self sacrificing beacon for an area attack that he could hopefully either avoid or resist as he turns around and screams to his companions as he stands in front of the magi he had effectively just run through. And unlike the ogre, if he should end up getting destroyed in the blast - he was in solid form right now and would simply turn into gas and recover himself in an hour.

This Obscuring Mist cloud appears to cover the entire control deck of the tower. Raven went in, and only he knows it is more like an obscuring 'dome'. Diving blindly into the 'mist' kills the injured undead wyvern, it will pop back to the wherever it came from before Raven will notice it was coming in.

Bruug can kill another tough officer-ogre, and at this point the air-tumbling ogres are at least hesitating. With Bruug talking to them, he does seem to have stayed this onslaught to your 'group-left'.

Tunia who? Oh, Aust will spot her life-force' crawling invisible near the tower, she is crouched low looking up at the tall tower, and eyeing the 'harmless' looking mist up-top.

Moving her targeted trees to the front rank that moved first, Arha can catch two together and catch them on fire. They will try to move forward without pain, but crumble into charred wood. {It is the ancient redwoods that become fire resistant.}

Aust can bounce with amazing speed and can give chase to the fast moving gaseous-ogre. He may be able to catch the gas cloud by the circle of giant pillars. Aust will think they look ridiculously large. The trees seem to have no interest in him now that he is by them.

Calli seems to bother the mighty sequoia only a little. She is still blue from the giant's blood, as well as now filthy with some ash sticking to her.

Raven must feel danger from the giants and ogres. He will easily leap back through the mist, where he is once again affected. With his acid-protection readied he can stop the burning sensation, however this was a magical goo and he can even tell his black leather is tarnished. {Those of you seeing Raven, won't actually see him looking much different, though he is covered in some clear goo.} He can land safely with no combatants around him. This tower has a sealed stone doorway that is giant sized on the 'north' side.

Raven can also tell the magic of this ectoplasm is still working on him, now even more with a 2nd helping.

Dani holds.... {assessing the situation}

The ogres are confused by everything, and some warrior ogres will beat those hesitating. From your side the barracks will look comical as ogre bounce around in confusion. Some make their way toward Bruug, and even Dani as she stands about indecisively.

Bruug and Dani both take a couple blows from clubs and swords, though Bruug's attackers were 3 ogre-officers in black armor, and he deflected most of the attacks {d:19}. Dani was hit by a mighty blow from an angered warrior-ogre. {d: 7, 8 +7}

Those of you listening for blasts from the cloud, you will hear the giants resume their bombardment of the Zephyr below, as it whips in a circle high above it all.

Aust will just be able to get the gaseous ogre-magi as it gets to the interesting building.

No sign of the caster giant....

The redwoods move, and will clip Dani as she continues to stand about, beating the short lady some more! {oooh crit, d:17 low damage though....} Dani is battered by one long branch that comes sweeping in. Arha can see that 2 redwoods will reach her next round, and seem intent on getting her. These two are spread just a bit too much for fireball, though there are a few others left in the rear-guard redwoods that are grouped in two... and even three now as a few turn the corner of the building. {OOC- Tree placement on map is not exact.}

Knowing his reality to be a dome that only appears to be Obscuring Mist Raven stays to do some ship-damage and hopes he can do real carnage. Even though the bad ass ogre-officers were extremely tough, they were no real threat to the even lesser-armored Raven. He attempts to sunder the stand the captain giant stood at. His mighty blow will split the center-console and the mist above will begin to disperse, and retract into the tower-edges.

Raven will also be the center of attack of the 4 ogre-officers, his sword could've broken splitting the stone, but for now it held strong... and somehow got missed in the metal/magic-disintegrating-mist. Raven easily avoids the grasps of the ogre-officers. The Captain Giant is angry, and telling the ogres in giantese: "Do not kill the Jumping-one here!!!"

Back on Track or Cloud 1:
Calli will see as Dani heals the wounds on her body before her very own eyes with a little 'concentration'. {+29}

Bruug delays and confuses the ogre-troops as they bounce clumsily about the cloud. Clearly they do not enjoy the fighting-environment of this magic cloud.

With the mist gone, Raven thought he saw something in the corner of his eye climbing up the side of the tower. He might hope it is Tunia... on his side.

Arha can position herself to hit three slow moving trees in the front-line. There are still about 7 of these, but of the rest are closer to the tall observatory 'interesting' home closest to you. The trees seem vulnerable to the primal forces of nature.

This whole scene looks bizarre to all of you, as you are surrounded by high stone towers, unless you've been to the big cities with all the towers. No colors, but gray, though there are long designs carved artfully into all the stonework of high craftsmen ability. Where there was redwood is now charred cinders and ash. Making Calli even more filthy, even Dani gets ash covered from the ash-puffs.

Aust has one chance to pounce, if he can hurt the gaseous ogre-magi and kill it in one attack then he can prevent escape and entrance into the mini-mansion. If not... well... {Lothmar- Post this action, then the following round. Not sure Aust can grapple a gaseous-form. And he has a lot of hit-points even drained.}

The trees are more bothered by Arha, though not emotionally, more as a defense mechanism. They are far from her, and will actually go farther from Calli. Dani flew back near Arha, and is safe for the moment. Calli is armed with the sonic sword, it feels good to wield it, and she gets a little strength rush when she feels the awesome vibrations course through her, like a sonic-drug. {+4 Bull Strength, She'll be hooked on this in no time.}

Raven is seen by all and is rampaging about the deck of the central-tower. There 4 black armored ogre-officers try to wrestle with Raven. The Important seeming cloud giant is giving instructions of control to the giant at one stone-station control-panel, and Raven sunders this too! His sword rings in his hands, and he will feel the tower shudder.
"Fool." Curses the Captain Cloud giant tower over enlarged Raven. "You will destroy your friends as well!"

The other two giants ignore Raven, and frantically control the magically lighting rock. Raven will see amazing colorful displays that light up like holographic-illusions. One of the giants fires off a cannon from the cloud, though Raven can hear only one blast this round. The captain giant buffs himself with a potion, and moves to the new-pilot giant.

The giant who just had his controls destroyed decides to bash along with the ogres who are failing miserably.
This white-garbed giant misses smashing Raven, and nearly crushes one of the ogre-officers. This giant is very surprised.

Bruug's ogres look even more silly. There are a few angry ogres, but they look even more silly, for they tumble in circles, not sure who attack Bruug or the ogres who 'respect' Bruug. After Bruug dispatches with another uber-bad ass ogre, few ogre-officers will want to get close to him, and will be content to kill warrior-ogres... the warriors only flee, and do not fight back. A couple more tumble over the edge dramatically toward the sea {as the battle has drifted out that way...}

Unless Aust slew the ogre-magi, it will 'escape' into his mansion estate.

The clang of the blade on stone resonated up Raven's arm. At least it didn't break - and that accursed mist is gone.

He raised is blade in line with the giant who's finally taken notice of him. "Don't kill me here, the boss says," Raven hollers at the giant as he advances, blade swinging. His leap is less charge and more soaring, twisting, and tumbling past the giant, striking at an odd angle.

Aust - HP 55/54 (65/54 if last attack that hit also drained like I think I was supposed to read it.) - Enlarge person.

It seemed no had either heard him or was too busy with their own opponents to assist him in properly taking on the purple robed ogre magi in mist form.

"Begon, Armor!" Aust says dramatically as his armor and shield teleport off his person and onto the nearby ground. "Guess I have to pummel you, myself!"

I doubt it will happen, but my only real hope at this point is to successfully drain the magi twice and hope he doesn't have more then 12 levels total (since he's a magi I assume he has levels and HD, but since he has level energy drain targets those and not HD. Unless all his spells are natural creature stuff? In which case I would be hitting HD.). Because if you ever have as many negative levels as you do current one's its an instant death.

- I checked, and apparently other incorporeal creatures can harm one another, but not exert force - so if I turned to gaseous form I could grapple the ogre magi in gaseous form, but we both wouldn't have our strength bonuses.

Or I could take the easy route and ask that my armor/gauntlets be enchanted with ghost touch once I have some down time (heck haven't touched practically any of my spoils ever) so I can grapple spirits/mist in these kinds of situations. ~chuckle~

Retro for Aust:
The dice fail the ogre-magi on both accounts as Aust launches his flurry of energy-drains into the fleeing gas -I believe this is possible. He can tell he sucked life from this powerful being, but it won't be enough. Aust is boosted and may feel a little more invincible after tasting some magi-life. They are Irda, and Irda are said to be tastiest of all.... if you're a vampire.
{OOC- My mighty ogre-magi have a habit of rolling 1's at bad times. This one got off lucky, but draining levels/HD is an annoying thing to fix, and likely takes longer than what it will take for Aust's buddies to knock this door off and kill the guy... if he's still there.}

Battle of the Cloud-Base:
Dani vaporizes one of the ogres bothering Raven, and the ogre vanishes without a scream.

Bruug continues to fight ogres, and has taken more damage than he realized in the flurry of few big bruiser ogres coming at him. He keeps dropping burly big boys like they are grass and he the lawn-mower.
{DM action}

Tunia is invisible, but Raven will see she apparently spied one of the two giants still seated at stone consoles. Tunia suddenly appears from her stalking. She attempts to shove her sword in the giant's neck, but failed as the stone-like skin was hard. This giant groans in annoyance as he discovers the sneaky former assassin on his backside.

Arha would clearly think the huge stone giant now aiding the 3 remaining ogre-officers vs Raven is the biggest threat. His range with his stone bat meant he didn't need to get close to the enlarged Raven with 3 ogres keeping him busy. Arha can tell she had no resistance in striking the cloud giant swinging at Raven. It is so minute in hurting the giant, that it only grumbles something in giantese about: "Stupid little spells."

Calli can move near Dani and Arha, though the trees are slow, and the remaining will just stick close to the caster-giant's home. {Calli is closer to the Control-Tower and can make her way to it this round if she'd rather... Player-choice}

Enlarged Raven leaps up high over the ogres, already high in the air on the tower. He slams his sword hard into the giant missing a swipe of the giant's bat over his head. He stabs deep into the giant drawing a gush of light blue blood spraying forth splattering Raven a little. He can then "hop" to the 'southern' section of the tower where there are currently no ogres or giants.

Bruug takes a pounding as a few burly ogres stab into him. Bruug gets to swing at a few more and will decapitate one with a mighty blow, and stab into the heart of another with his follow through. He is taking several blows, but only a few of the mighty blows hurt him through his armor.

The remaining redwoods stop their approach toward the group, and will remain by the giant-home.

The 3 remaining ogre-officers race toward Raven and continue to fail in their attack, now even trying to batter him with massive polearms or swords. The injured giant he stabbed, and Arha pelted with magic missiles moves just close enough to poke Raven in the head with his HUGE bat. {d: 29}

Tunia gets the full force of the last gunner-giant, she is literally battered and batted right off the control tower. She is alive, but bloody and bruised, and bouncing around 'south' of the other giant homes.

The captain giant goes to the gunner's control, now that the last pilot-giant is in control of cloud with his stone-console. The captain giant fires the cloud's lower cannon, and this shot will sound out a big explosion on the Red Zephyr below. She is trying to evade the ship, and now the Red Zephyr is zipping about, and starting to rise higher than the cloud. {OOC- You thought 3-D battles were tough on battle-grids of the coffee table.} As the Zephyr rises up over the cloud in a dramatic shot, Allie's red head pops out the command deck hatch. She watches as she sees the lay-out of the cloud, and only waves to you all, then gives a thumbs up before ducking back in. The ship will fire upon the control-tower, but there seems to be a light or laser collector that absorbs the blast straight into the tower itself!!

The Captain Giant with long white hair was partially wounded by Raven, and Dani tries to rip his molecules apart. He's a tough fellow and he grunts for a moment in pain as he tries to hold himself together, grunting loudly. His nose does bleed light blue blood, as he grips his belly. {Dani hurt him a little.}

Bruug executes another officer-ogre, and sees two berserk ogres leap off the edge out of control. One young ogre-officer, quite adept at movement on the cloud lifts his black visor and bows. Speaking giantese to Bruug, "Noble Irda what are your commands then? These giants and magi own everything we have. Including our families!!!"
Chaos reigns in the ogres, and you all will see a few ogres make their way north toward the giant domed-homes.

Tunia curses and back-flips away from the last-gunner-giant she attacked near the captain-giant. She lands painfully forty feet below, but takes it and rolls invisibly into the cloudy-ground layer.

Arha's crackling black ray hits the cloud giant swinging a stone bat at Raven. She causes it much pain and exhaustion! The black ray also gets the attention of the Captain-giant, who had been scanning for the psion.

Aust is infused with the ogre-magi's life-force. He knows right where he is... but he cannot get him. Yet! {DM Action-Hold} He will relax for a moment, and make his way somewhere...

In one swift bound Calli can make her way to the Control Tower. None of the occupants will see her when she sneaks up on them... nor do they even suspect that the little hobbit is there.

Raven moves right by the 3 officer-ogres who really seem to be lumbering hunks of metal in his way. He ducks under the weakened giant's free swing over his head, and successfully slays it! Raven would be fully aware of the black ray that already weakened this giant. His empowered attack drains the giant as it chops into the paling giant. Then his second series of slices ensure its death, and Raven opens up major wounds on this unarmored giant. This giant falls backwards crashing into what are the sundered remains of the former main stone control panel. This action draws shock and awe to all ogres and giants on the control-tower. This they did not expect.
"Murderer!!!! You cannot kill us!!!!!" {Raven gained +34 hp in the drain.}

As long as you stay away from the big caster's home, the remaining animated redwoods won't bother you. Bruug has some ogre-officer now kneeling before him.

The main action seems to come from the control-tower. At the death of the giant-crewmen, the captain-giant with long white hair loses it. His long white hair seems to fly about wildly as he seems to buff, and charge grabbing the gunner's bat from him, and batting Raven painfully off the tower. Raven is hit far, and will be able to slow his rocketing, and will end up 'south' of the control tower, and somewhere in-between where the ladies are in back, near where the charred redwood is now ash blowing all over. {d:29}

The gunner giant returns to his console to fire a shot from a new cannon in the tower, now at the Red Zephyr above you! The shot blasts another hole in the bright red ship, which is already smoking and under severe damage control measures.

The pilot giant only looks up a little, and then hits a switch, and the cloud rises rapidly to give chase after the Red Zephyr.

The Red Zephyr is still functional, and has two lasers, which try blasting other locations on the cloud, including the ogres bouncing around. Bruug may be disappointed to see some of the barracks and ogres nearby are slain in a sonic explosion.

The ogres all slow when the kneeling ogre is seen, and berzerk ogres flail pathetically. The 3 ogre-officers of the tower, go to other station-consoles on the railing, and seem to be preparing an attack there maybe?

"Chht.." Aust adds with a slight hiss as his prey escapes into the safety of the manor. "To me, my armor and shield." He grumbles as he walks along the outside of the building for a moment in contemplation and then over to the circular pillars.

He begins examining them with a hint of intrigue (How big - heavy - secured are they? Could someone maybe topple one over onto the building next to them with a strength check since they're close to each-other?) as he enters the center of the circle wondering if the central area of the cloud really did control everything from the weapons to the engines, but he was hoping he may discover a system he could disable - that is if he recognized it as such.

Aust does not think he could topple the circle of pillars that looks like some sort of giant-sized monument. In the center of the circle is a giant sized stone altar. Aust sees red stains on it he believes... {OOC- Don't know how Aust got additional +20, to the boost he just had, but from my view he is still at 65 hp.}

Dani disintegrates the stone console and part of the stone-railing by the ogre on the tower. This ogre-officer is surprised, and actually falls face-first off the tower after losing his balance, hurting himself not at all from the bouncy fall. This ogre is quite stunned by the sudden disappearance of his minor-gun station.

Bruug bounds away toward the tower at full speed. His new dexterity will allow him to bound at full speed. He can be within charging distance of the ogre-officer that just fell off the tower now, caused by Dani's disintegration of part of the stone-railing.

Tunia is actually not hurt on the jump, and will start climbing up the side of the tower, making sure the fallen ogre-officer doesn't see her.
Though anyone who doesn't have life-sight or invisible-sight can't see her.

Arha creates the frightening SPIRIT WALL with the desperate moaning souls. At the moment the captain giant has no interest in the controls and is raging at Raven even far away. She can easily put the spirit wall between the captain-giant and the console, in doing so she will blast the gunner currently controlling the console the captain was. This gunner-giant is minorly bothered by the spirit wall effecting him, and continues to man-controls while the spirits pull at him.

Calli can see by the fact the long haired giant, who seems important batted enlarged-Raven over a hundred feet away! Raven won't have seen Calli until now flying up around the giant's ear. She pricks the Captain behind the ear, and splatters his long white hair with his light-blue blood. {OOC- I don't mind rolling for the PC, but if you want an accurate one, please post your current-bonuses.}

Raven quaffs his potion and quickly moves back toward the tower. He will be some distance still, since he took a moment to quaff the potion, and will be running a round behind Bruug, Raven will be able to attack in a flying charge next round.

The last gunner-giant still annoyed by the spirit-wall will fire upon the Zephyr blasting another hole in it. The Zephyr's shields seem to be completely down.

The pilot-giant seems quite intent on his job, though does glance up from his colorful-light display to watch the action of the captain-giant.

The captain giant angrily turns on Calli the little gnat near his ear, trying to jam her pin into his neck's carotid artery under the jaw-line. This angered giant swats Calli violently hitting her a couple times with his stone bat. She is lucky to have been knocked away when she was, for as is she is battered and knocked off the tower in a bloody pulp. Completely unconscious and dying. {d: 30+32}

The ogre-officer who kneeled to Bruug is now alone against some of the crazed ogres. This young ogre-officer will have some trouble brewing here as a few berzerker-ogres try to hop and dive around him. Combat here has not stopped, but has gotten more chaotic as many ogres bump into one another in an endless kinetic motion of ogre-bodies.

The Red Zephyr starts firing onto the ogres killing many in the sonic blast sending ogre body-parts all over the place.

The two ogre officers on the deck still at lesser gun-stations, will send out blue-laser blasts at Raven and Bruug. Raven dodges again! However, Bruug takes a painful shot to the chest, that seems to ignore armor! {d:15}
