So, flashback to 2010. The year we made contact.

We all remember Mass Effect 2, Minecraft, Alien Swarm, and the Hierarchy invasion of Earth, subjugating our people and forcing us into their brutal political system. And then the Chryssalids showed up. What I'm saying is, it was a busy and terrifying year.

In the middle of all that, I saw a game praised on Rock Paper Shotgun. Little indie thing. Free. Digital: A Love Story.

I go "That sounds good" and plan to download it.

But then Hierarchy.

So, when it shows up for their 12 games of Christmas, I go "Huh. Need to play it this time, when I have a break from the Eezo mines".

But then Chryssalids. And the whole thing slipped my mind between the screaming and the frantic building of barricades.

Flashback: About a week ago. The creator of Digital makes another game. I decide to download. I figure I should finally get around to Digital and download that too.

Flashback: Two days ago. I finally install Digital and start playing it during a dull class lecture.

It is very good. And to say more would ruin the experience.

Play it. (http://www.scoutshonour.com/digital/)

And keep details in spoilers. Just a courtesy thing.

Both the Digital and Don't Take It Personally Babe are brilliant, yeah. Especially the former. Everyone who is not deathly afraid of reading should give these a go.

Played that as well.

About a quarter century further on chronologically, and at most it has a couple tiny references at the end, maybe.

Very different games, but the details would be spoilers.

Suffice it to say, Digital is much better.
