I've never seen any other games like these.

You have to activate things in a specific order to grow the play-space into something awesome. You learn the order in which to activate stuff by watching how everything interacts with everything else, it's all fuelled by a weird internal logic.

They're cool games. The only one I played through blind was Grow RPG, though. The others I played around with for a bit then looked up the solution.

I'm not really a fan as I get irritated with the game and just try to complete it by brute force cracking of permutations.

If you're not concerned with trying to complete it and are just curious to see what happens, they're fun. If you're the type to complete games, they become very repetitive very quickly.
