TL;DR Version: Long plot speculations/spoilers ahead!
With the arrival of everyone's favourite Half-Orc Barbarian, some people are asking the question, "Where is Nale and Sabine?". This is an important question, one that I believe I have an answer to.
After their Daring escape (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0458.html), Nale simply mentions in the final Panel, "...wherever our evil schemes take us..." Leaving us to over-look what he says three panels earlier: "... there are two other perfectly good gates waiting to be found?"
The exposition (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0378.html) given by Lord Shojo names only the general area of the gates, but give the names of the adventurers' who are protecting them. Most importantly of all, is none other than Girard Draketooth. This becomes very important because General Tarquin (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0727.html) knows about him, if not exactly where he is, and Nale worked with his father all his life untill the creation of the Empire of Blood.
With Thog in the arena, there can be no doubt that Nale is in the west after Girards gate, but now here's the fun part, are we witnessing a "classic" overly complicated plan on Nale's part, disassembling the Order of the Stick through he knowledge of the local law? He's done that before. Getting Thog arrested to keep him out of trouble, while he perhaps seeks Girard himself, claiming the Order of the Stick is there to release the Snarl is another possibility too.
So, if this all comes as a shock to you... well, now you know. Does anyone else have any ideas or theories to what overly complex scheme Nale is upto? If so please share.
