Elemental Shape & Pathfinder

If I cast elemental shape to assume the form of an elemental can I wield a weapon?

I don't believe elementals have bodies, but search the Bestiary for their entry. If it doesn't mention them being immaterial then they can wield weapons.

Well the air elemental is a swirling vortex so I don't think it can. A rock elemental is just a rock dude. But a fire or water elemental? I'm not sure.

Earth elemental, definitely, maybe the Water one as well. As you said, I don't think either a flame or air elemental could wield a weapon.

don't you get their natural attack when you shift?

I'm playing a Gish. I have a few feats invested in my sword. Ideally I want to be hitting people... with my sword. But yeah in general nothing wrong with turning into Geodude and pummeling someone.
