Is there any rule that forbids sundering with eldritch glaive, because as far as the invocation is concerned, it is like a glaive in every aspect.

It says nothing about being a glaive. It says "as if wielding a reach weapon."

However, it does non-piercing damage, so you should be able to sunder with it.

You can use a melee attack with a slashing or bludgeoning weapon to strike a weapon or shield that your opponent is holding.

An Eldritch Glaive does not deal slashing or bludgeoning damage, so it cannot be used to sunder.

It actually says "similar to a glaive" in the first line of the description. But I digress, thanks for the quick responses.

An Eldritch Glaive does not deal slashing or bludgeoning damage, so it cannot be used to sunder.

Hence "should". It's pretty safe to say that all melee weapons as of PHB printing did slashing, bludgeoning, or piercing damage or a combination of those.

Since an Eldritch Glaive acts like a weapon and can damage objects, it should be able to sunder just like any other weapon that can damage objects (slashing or bludgeoning).

EDIT:

"Appearing similar to a glaive" is not the same as "acting similar to a glaive."

EDIT2: Failing sundering, you can still use "smashing an object" rules which read:
Smashing a weapon or shield with a slashing or bludgeoning weapon is accomplished by the sunder special attack. Smashing an object is a lot like sundering a weapon or shield, except that your attack roll is opposed by the object’s AC. Generally, you can smash an object only with a bludgeoning or slashing weapon. You just won't be able to target a weapon or shield.

However, I believe that it would only do half damage for the purpose of Sundering... just like Spells only do half damage to objects.

Spells don't do half damage. Fire and electricity do. Cold does a quarter, and sonic/acid are full (and many sonic attacks ignore hardness). Other types of damage aren't given any specific fraction, but all (that don't specifically target creatures) should be able to damage objects or Magic Missile wouldn't be called out as an exception.

Regarding OP. The book states "An eldritch blast deals half damage to objects."

And there you go. It still holds that spells follow their energy types unless otherwise noted, though. And the ones that don't note should do full damage if it makes sense to do damage at all (desiccation vs. metal? Don't think so...)
