An empty night street. Until recently it was only lit by the flickering of a street lamp against the grey stone wall, but now the flames of a vehicle fire illuminates the surroundings as it never could.

Four balaclava-wearing men drag themselves from a crashed van, lucky to be alive. Judging that the injuries are surprisingly slight, the group determines they'd ought to at least try to run out of sight to the back of a nearby apartment building.

No sirens yet call out, but the four of them ready their weapons in fear nonetheless. Two of the men hold modified assault rifles - the tape binding the pieces together grips it even tighter than these jumpy individuals. The man watching the back is easily the twitchiest, and keeps Gordon B. Ingram's most famous invention at the ready, even holding it with both hands. Lastly, a very calm, large man appears to hold no weapon at all; instead he totes a stainless steel briefcase, held shut by a flimsy-looking combination lock.

The back of the building is a parking lot, but gives access to catwalks that lead to the roof. Passing between two tightly parked cars, one of the men in front makes a quick check, then gives the other the go ahead to start climbing the ladder. As he grabs the first rung of the ladder, however...

(OoC: This is where someone makes their entry.)

As the figures of the four men began to pass the car, The Gauntlet's neck hairs began to rise, as they are apt to do when he is surrounded by assault weaponry.

Okay, so if you take out one of them, then the other one will definitely blow holes in you. You can't use a gun, so it's probably safer to take a hostage... Probably...

The Gauntlet began to rise, rounding the corner of the car to grab the man farthest back. He however forgot to account for people tending to point their weapons in the direction they're moving. A quick change of plan, and our martial artist friend decided it would be more effective to kick the man's teeth in. A thrust of his leg, and a loud yell were all that comprised this action he now called the 'subtle approach'.

The Gauntlet is as a blur as he tears about the bumper of the car. The incredibly twitchy-fingered man sees him at the last possible second and fires, but his inexpert aim and the hero's incredible reflexes throw him for a loop - right before his kick does. The shots instead embed themselves in the nearby car, and gasoline leaks from the "wound".

A sharp upwards kick serves to lambast him for his imperfect marksmanship, both knocking the gun from his hand and connecting square with the jaw. A sickeningly audible "CRACK" erupts as the crook spits violently, unable to re-act fast enough in any other meaningful way. His neck adopts an interesting new orientation as he gains a full foot of air and crumples upon landing.

One of the men with the assault rifles swears as he turns to open fire on their mysterious assailant, when...

From the flickering shadows a man dark as the night itself made his presence known with the cocking of a worn M&P9mm, the insignia ‘696’ etched into the side of the gun. He took his stance behind the hood of one of the cars, and fired a single shot right though the gut of the getto weapon trained on the Gauntlet. “put the piece down fool, i an’t lookin to scrap against no newjacks tonight,”

Meanwhile, an out of breath woman clad in bright pink spandex with white highlites, and with a bright pink mask on steps over to the edge of the roof. She pauses to catch her breath, looking down while doing so and notices the group of men. Her breath reclaimed, she shouts down at them;

Looks like your luck just ran out! Give yourselves up peacefully and no one needs to get hurt... anymore... than they are already...
