Well, to introduce myself, my name is Ian. (But please, call me Cat)

I have been playing video games since I was a little kid, and I have loved comedy since about the same time. It was only a matter of time before "Rod A" was inserted into "Slot B".

Filming, Acting, and Theater have always been hobbies of mine, and this fits so well into it that I couldn't help but start to pick it up.

Anyways, here's my constantly updated statistics for my channel
(Latest update time: 5:30 PM on 5-23-11)

Videos: 132 uploaded
Total uploaded footage: 27 Hours, 10 minutes, 08 seconds

- Also Annotated. Season 2's Pilot marks the turning point in which I become unfamiliar with the game once more. The content after Episode 26, in my opinion, is much better.

If you'd like to check out any of my other content (League of Legends, Turok Rage Wars, N64 games, and generally ridiculous videos), feel free to stop by my channel and check it out :)

My LP kind of went and died :smallfrown: We filmed quite a bit, but technical difficulties deleted all our data and we're not restarting the game. We might play Destroy All Humans at some point, along with the sequels (DAH 2 and Path of the Furon). Watching the videos tomorrow morning I spent the day biking/playing baseball with my dog, etc. and I'm going to bed soon...

EDIT: Watched the first episode. So far, not bad, but I suggest you don't interrupt the cutscenes. I've seen that cutscene fity bazillion times and most of the jokes were hilarious , but people who have never played get annoyed if they miss the cutscenes. For someone talking during the cutscenes though, that was masterful. Apart from that quibble I love the LP so far, it's a refreshing look at one of my favorite games... Rock on, dude!

That's the only cutscene i've ever talked through, and I was really just in such a goofy mood I had to do it :)

I have thoroughly enjoyed filming and producing all of these videos, and I take a lot of pride in my work. ANY sort of advice, inspiration, or technical instruction I receive is taken with great appreciation :)

It's what I do, and It's what I love.

Anyways, if it's a hobby of yours, I say pursue it to the fullest if you're able :) Anything that makes you happier is a good thing.

Uploaded another 6-part campaign playthrough for Turok, featuring the Juggernaut. He signals the final "easy" characters, before the games difficulty curve becomes a cliff.

Also created a playlist (in order) for all of my Turok videos. You can view it here:

Now this one I have to watch. I've heard so many bad things about Turok it's ridiculous. And thanks for the inspiration. As soon as I get my equipment up and running I may leap into LP Destroy All Humans.

I've never enjoyed any of the Turok games except for this one. I've owned all of the N64 versions, and this game is not only the best Turok game, but quite honestly easily surpasses Goldeneye 007 as a fps/Multiplayer party game in every single aspect I could think of. Ever-changing difficulties with different characters in the campaign, an impressively large list of maps and weapons to choose from, and a highly simple control scheme.

It was so much fun having intense battles with friends back when we were kids. It's definitely worth checking out!

And i'm glad I could be an inspiration to get you back into something you were discouraged out of. I don't have the best gear to produce with, but it's still a lot of fun to see people enjoying your work. I just made this post in the hopes that maybe a few more would catch a few laughs :smallcool:

This video shows me fighting the first boss with the first character. A clean victory accomplished in 3:33
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWDHIis6lFo

And this video has the same boss fight with a character only a few ahead of Turok(Eliminated with massive, rage-inducing pain in 25:17). Quite a bit was taken out due to lack of my voice, because I was getting so frustrated

and the playlist including the rest of them.

Your equipment probably isn't as bad as mine: Good old point-the-camera at the screen and hit the "record" button. Although my friend is good at video editing, so it's not as bad as it sounds...

For your next Let's Play I think you should release it on an episodic basis, being thrown a zillion episodes can scare viewers looking for something short away. Also, a link in your signature would attract more viewers.

EDIT: Also, the only things I've heard of Turok is Zero Punctuation's review, here (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/30-Turok), and he's known for bashing on even the best of games.

The only problem with the way I film is that I currently lack more than 1 TB of storage. Seeing as I strictly use Fraps, and only stray away RARELY to Camtasia's built-in one, I end up with huge files. Each episode I upload is probably near 7.5 GB in raw, lossless footage pre-production. I can't have all of those sitting around without confusing myself.

I know that uploading so many videos so fast can definitely effect subscribers who are waiting on live updates, but it also leaves a pretty varied crumb trail across Youtube to my channel. The more videos I have, the more people will eventually end up being able to enjoy my videos.

At least that's how i've been envisioning this in lala land!

There are quite a few programs you can use to record pretty well with a small footprint on your computer. I just use Fraps, because it records steadily with 720p resolution at 25-60 fps (Or 120 if I feel like watching my computer blue screen).

Update for 5-2-11

1. 6 new Turok videos are being uploaded today, completing an entire new character named Oblivion Spawn.

2. I'm also officially announcing my "How to properly rave with common household items" release (date to be determined, likely tonight though)
I don't like to spoil something that i've spent so little time planning, but here's a special sneak peak at what you should expect:
http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i358/USDMcat/0502011654.jpg

3. a SUPER SECRET Let's Play has just officially started filming and production today. I work with a lot of people that normally know, but not a single soul knows which game i'm going to be releasing. The only clue I can give is that a lot of humor will be involved, 100% of it at my expense.

4. More N64 games have finally entered the que for selection. Please pick your favorites and help me choose some of my next games to run!

Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie
Diddy Kong Racing
Extreme-G XG2
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Mario Golf
Mario Tennis
Paper Mario
Star Fox 64
Star Wars Episode I - Racer
Star Wars - Shadows of the Empire
Star Wars - Rogue Squadron
Star Wars - Battle for Naboo
Tom Clancey's Rainbow 6 (The original, yes)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1-3
Toy Story 2

Out of that list, Ocarina of Time, Paper Mario, Star Wars - Shadows of the Empire, Star Wars - Rogue Squadron or Star Wars - Battle for Naboo seem the most appealing. Also, I'm a console gamer so FRAPS isn't an option and I don't want to shell out the money for an AV cable, mikes, splitter, etc.

EDIT: Nice update to the main post!

Awesome taste. And i'm also a Console gamer. I just happen to not have an xbox anymore. I actually use an Xbox controller to play Borderlands on my PC. I just have always enjoyed console games, and I just can't vibe with WASD.

Trust me, all of the hassle is worth it, but it's a pain in the ass until you can set it up in your sleep. You should see my computer desk http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i358/USDMcat/Smileys%20and%20Icons/blserious.gif

I'm definitely going to be running all of the games you mentioned

Thanks. Also, I think your sig breaks forum regulations for size, might I suggest you resize it?

As for starting my LP (If it happens I'm currently starting a project along the lines of Marble Hornets), I was wondering if you had any tips. Also, what is Gemcraft? Is it Minecraft, or a totally different game?

I would suggest taking breaks whenever you feel like it. Breaks are just as important on finishing a game, especially when it requires you talking to nobody.

As for Gemcraft, it's a tower-defense game that's become fairly popular since it came out. I spent a lot of time playing Minecraft though. I was part of a 6-man team that used to host Minecraft24/7 on Ustream.

My suggesting to you, don't ever do that.

After an intense week of uploading, i'll be taking a short break to let some of my subscribers catch up with my work. Those who have been actively following my Borderlands run will be in for a nice surprise soon! Those who haven't have plenty of time to catch up, so check out my Borderlands run up at the first post :)
