Our theme this month is...
Scandal! :smalleek:
Isn't it amazing the sort of thing that can be caught on camera at the exact time? Or maybe not on camera, but on avatar. This Month's Iron Avatarist is about the surprise, the unexpected immortalization of the moment!

Remember: All artwork must be your own. Do not take, alter, or use any of the The Giant's art. Thanks.

Categories
There will be a First through Third place award for each of the following:

Most Scandalous Avatar (any creation of 120x120 or smaller)
Best Crime (Criminal caught in the act.)
Best Paparazzi (Caught on camera or video, daily life. Celebrity or otherwise)
Most Scandalous Scene (Anything not fitting into the above.)
Best Rookie Entry (only applicable to those who have never entered these competitions before)

And, of course, the Best Overall award.

And as an extra, I'll be giving out the Ruki's Choice Award for whatever entry I personally like the most from any category.

NOTE: The reaction or the results of being caught in the act can also be used. For instance, if Vaarsuvius taped Belkar sucking his thumb in his sleep and put it on YouTube, the reaction to this is also an acceptable entry. Or the Photographer running away after being caught, works too. And remember: ADHERE TO THE FORUM RULES. Just because something is scandalous doesn't mean it can be NSFW.

Rules

1. All entries must be posted by June 1st at Noon, EST.

2. Every entry must include a bolded introduction as to what category you are trying to enter in. Additionally, if it's your first time entering the contest, remember to add "Best Rookie Entry"

3. Every entry must include an itallic introduction as to what your entry is.

For example:

Haruki dressed as a Demon


4. You cannot re-submit an entry previously submitted to an IA competition.

5. Do not use spoilers. It makes the judge's job that much harder, and they may do you harm.

6. Only the avatarist who created the avatar may submit it.

7. Please do not quote images. The entry/name will suffice.

8. Keep entries within PG-13 or better. Adhere to forum rules.

I think for that particular case I'd suggest picking a panel or a page and submiting it.... You can do a couple of panels, too, but remember that your entries will be competing against each other.

Now you may wonder how the paladin managed to sneak up on her. The answer is a set of Horseshoes of the Zephyr. A good way to gain the element of surprise, as well as keeping the street dirt off your celestial warhorse.

Little too gory, considering that certain real-life groups are doing that sort of thing daily in some parts of the world. I would be the first to defend "The Giant" for his use of that type of scene in OotS since he keeps the gore to a minimal level, and it fits for the storylines. But there is a line that I think the old image crossed, so I got rid of it. Now, an image would have to be a great deal worse before I would complain about someone else's art. Highly critical of my own art; other peoples? not so much.

The design was based on the only Green Dragon shown in Rich Burlew's style so far. If anything, she is slimmer than the one on the cover of the new book. I had planned to add a background and color (ie. sitting on her hoard) but I couldn't get it to come out right. I will be experimenting with some different art programs before I try do create something like this again.

It's "oots-style", but the boundaries of that are pretty poorly-defined and fairly flexible. I think that looks alright.
