I'm makeing a Master Chymist from Pathfinder and am trying to pick my discoveries/advanced mutagens. Of course Greater and Grand mutagen are both required at their given levels, but I keep feeling that Greater Mutagen is a waste. It only gets replaced, never to be used again. There are other Master Chymist advanced mutagens I like so I was wondering if I could take the extra discoveries feat to get Greater/Grand mutagen at the appropriate Master Chymist level because they are also alchemist discoveries? If you were a DM, would you let this fly?

I ask because my DM likes to see the opinions of others So If i show him this, he is more likely to agree!

Yes, you can do it. You don't need to be taking a lvl of Alchemist when you choose Extra Discovery as a feat, you just need to meet the requirement. You could take only 1 alchemist level and spend the rest of your campaign choosing Extra Discovery as many times as you like as long as you meet the requirements.
