Ok Playgrounders! It's homework time. Can you make up a magical item for Maxwell's Silver Hammer and Mack The Knife?.

MSH Should probably include some sneak attack abilities.
MTK is "pearly white".

Let's Listening!

I threw this together pretty quickly, but it may seed some ideas for others. I built stats along D&D 3.5 lines, since you didn't specify:

Mack the Knife
Mack the Knife is a +1 Keen dagger made of an unknown alloy; it appears white and shows an opalescent sheen under direct light but is otherwise similar to steel. It carries the following unique abilities:

Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it … ah … out of sight.

Ethereal Jackknife
Mack the Knife can be turned invisible and intangible to any but the wielder as a standard action, becoming visible and solid again only when used during an attack. Opponents attacked with the invisible Knife are treated as flat-footed against attacks with it during that round, and a search of the owner will not turn up the intangible Knife unless the searcher is able to see invisible in some way.

When that shark bites with his teeth, dear
Scarlet billows begin to spread
Fancy gloves, wears old MacHeath, babe
So there's never, never a trace of red

Blood-Drinking
Mack the Knife absorbs the blood of its victims, dealing an additional 1d4 damage per strike. This gruesome talent means that little evidence of the attack is left on the user; an assassin wielding Mack carries away no evidence of violence. Additionally, any wielder with 12 ranks in Sleight of Hand is able to apply the Mosquito's Bite skill trick to attacks with Mack the Knife, even if they do not know the trick otherwise.

MTK is "pearly white".

No, it isn't; that's just a common belief among those lacking arcane skill. :)

Macheath's Knife: Magic weapon (dagger only)
Adds the weapons enhancement bonus to the users stealth rolls as long as it and all the user's other weapons are kept out of sigh and not drawn.
As an encounter power, the "knife" can be readied with a free action.
These daggers are often made with folding handles to aid in concealment, but are otherwise unremarkable, even difficult to detect as magical. Add twice the enhancement bonus to the difficulty of detecting the enchantment on the weapon, or detecting the weapon itself if concealed.
The enchantment provides no bonus at all if the user carries other enchanted weapons with equal or greater level.
Critical: extra d6 "sneak attack" damage
(+1 = level 2, etc; common)

Oh, the shark, has, pretty teeth, dear....and he shows them, pearly white
Just a jackknife, has macheath, yeah.....and he keeps it, out of sight
When the shark bites, with his teeth, dear....scarlet billows start to spread
Fancy gloves, though, wears macheath, yeah..so there’s not a trace, hmmmm of red

On the sidewalk...sunday morning, ...lies a body oozin’ life
Someone’s sneakin’ ’round the corner...is the someone, mack the knife?

...

Just a jackknife has Macheath dear
And he keeps it out of sight

Mack / Macheath is the fellow who carries the knife; the knife has no name. The whole point of the song is YOU NEVER SEE THE KNIFE (or catch the killer), its nothing fancy, and its the only weapon the killer carries.

Dunno about statting them out as D&D weapons, but the hammer would make a fantastic token for Changeling: the Lost...

(please forgive the mechanics if I messed them up, I'm doing this on the fly w/o books!)

Maxwell's Silver Hammer

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Came down upon her head.
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Made sure that she was dead.

Shining white and silver and gleaming with an almost cheerful light, nothing about this weapon's appearance betrays its dark intentions. Even blood seems to sluice off of it, unwilling to stain the pristine metal and wood. But the hammer has a bloody history; it is designed to allow its user to sneak, silent and unseen, up to his target, delivering a devastating attack before the victim even knows they are in danger.

Level: 5

Duration: Special; see drawback

Mien/Mask: To mortal eyes, it looks like a standard sledgehammer. Its head is slightly rusted, the long handle dark with age and wear. To those who can see the mien, however, the hammerhead is large and sparkling silver, the handle of fine-grain ash wood.

Effect: The hammer itself is a +2/+4 warhammer, which counts as both silver and iron for the purposes of vulnerability. However, by spending 3 Glamour, the hammer grants its wielder the use of Smoke 5, as well as absolute silence.

Drawback: The hammer is a murder weapon, pure and simple, and it wants to be used. The invisibility and silence it grants only ends when the hammer deals damage to another creature. At which point, the combat must continue until the attacked creature is dead. Should the combat end without a death, all damage (regardless of type) dealt to the opponent is also dealt to the wielder as aggravated damage.

Rumor persists of changelings who activated the invisibility effect, only to lose or somehow be deprived of the hammer before they can make an attack. These rumors are unsubstantiated - but then, they would be.

Catch: The bonuses to the weapon, as well as its unique status as both silver and iron, are always active whether the wielder is aware of them or not. The invisibility and silence effects can be activated without paying Glamour by using the hammer to deal at least three points of lethal damage to a loved one, immediate family member, or motley-mate. (Or equivalent, for other supernatural types.)
