Shining Mouse Style

*There's some fluff here I'm working on*

Shining Mouse style was developed by a Dragon-Blooded for use in serving and guarding her Solar lord, particularly against creatures of darkness. As such, most this style's Charms may be enhanced when used by a martial artist in defense of a being they have a positive Intimacy towards (subject to Storyteller approval). These are noted as Guardian.

Shining Mouse Style is not elementally aspected.

Complementary Abilities: The martial artist must have at least three dots distributed between Integrity and Awareness.

Weapons and Armor: This style is compatible with up to medium armor, and may be practiced with spears and swords.

Right Time, Right Place
Cost: 3m; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2
Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: One tick
Prerequisite Charms: None

This Charm may be used to enhance a Join Battle roll, adding one die. In the first tick of combat, she treats her Dexterity as two higher for the purposes of determining her Move and Dash rates. She may reactivate this Charm to gain the benefits of this artificial Dexterity enhancement.

Guardian (+1m): If the martial artist moves towards her charge, she may treat her Dexterity as if it were five higher for Move and Dash rates.

As the Boot Falls
Cost: 4m; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2
Type: Reflexive (Step 1)
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: None

This Charm may be used in response to an unexpected attack within (Essence x5) yards of the martial artist. She may make a reflexive (Wits+Awareness) roll with a difficulty of (attacker's Essence). If she succeeds on this roll, the attack is not unexpected. This Charm may not be used on an attack targeting the martial artist.

Guardian (+2-10m): The martial artist may purchase automatic successes on the (Wits+Awareness) roll, up to her own Essence (maximum five successes). Each automatic success costs 2 motes.

Fortuitous Tunnel Escape
Cost: Permenant (+1m); Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2
Type: Permenant
Keywords: None
Duration: Permenant
Prerequisite Charms: Right Time, Right Place

This Charm permanently enhances it's prerequisite. When the martial artist uses Right Time, Right Place, she may pay an additional cost of one mote. This adds half of her Essence, rounding down, to her Dodge DV for the duration of the Charm.

Learning this Charm also increases the duration of Right Time, Right Place to three ticks, for no cost.

Guardian (+1wp): As long as the martial artist is moving towards her charge, she may move as if under the effects of Graceful Crane Stance (Exalted, pg 222). This also extends the duration of Right Time, Right Place to five ticks.

Little Sun in the Night
Cost: 2m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2
Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Holy, Obvious
Duration: Five ticks
Prerequisite Charms: As the Boot Falls

If the martial artist makes a successful Awareness roll to notice a creature of darkness, she may reflexively pay one mote to mark it with a soft glowing aura of golden light, increasing the difficulty of any Stealth actions for it by (martial artist's Essence). All who see the creature while it is glowing are made aware of it's true nature.

Guardian (+3m): This Charm may be used on creatures who seek to do harm to the martial artist's charge, removing the Holy tag from this Charm. All who see the light surrounding the creature are filed with an instinctive understanding their hostile intent towards the martial artist's charge. This Charm's duration is increased to one scene.

Shining Mouse Form
Cost: 6m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2
Type: Simple (Speed 3, DV -0)
Keywords: Form-type, Obvious, Holy
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: Fortuitous Tunnel Escape, Little Sun in the Night

For the duration of this Charm, the martial artist exhibits an anima as if she were a Solar, at the 11 mote level, supplanting any anima she may have herself. This does not grant any anima power. Solars whose guards learned this style during the First Age often took advantage of this effect to craft convincing body doubles.

While this form is active, she may use the Guard Other action as a Reflexive action, and she gains a +1 bonus to her Parry DV while doing so.

Valiant Squeaking Friend
Cost: 1+wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3
Type: Simple (Speed 4, DV -0)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious, Emotion
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Shining Mouse Form

A number of allies equal to the martial artist's (Essence) within (Martial Arts x2) yards regain a point of temporary Willpower. For every point of Willpower she grants, she must spend a point of temporary Willpower. An ally may only gain this benefit once.

Guardian: This Charm only affects the martial artist's ward, if they are within (Martial Arts x10) yards, but their charge regains temporary Willpower up to the martial artist's Essence. Each point costs the martial artist 1wp as normal.

Heart of a Lion
Cost: 6m, 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3
Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Valiant Squeaking Friend

This Charm may be used to enhance a Defend Other action, making it a perfect parry. As a special Flaw, this Charm may not be used to defend the martial artist herself.

Guardian (+4m): This Charm may parry even unblockable attacks. The martial artist may extend the range of the Defend Other action for this Charm to the distance she could move with a single Move action.

Honestly, I banged this one out in about an hour. Not too satisfied with it, looking back on it. Still, I thought that I'd might as well post it and get some feedback. Need to add some fluffy bits to some of the Charms, and some other stuff.

Valiant Squeaking Friend seems kinda strong. And the name "Size Matters Not" just doesn't sound to me like the same sort of tone the rest of the charm names evoke. How about something like "Heart of a Lion"?

Valiant Squeaking Friend is pretty good, yes. Dunno if it's too strong, though. Probably needs a cap. Will revise.

*yoink*

EDIT: Toned down VSF by quite a bit.

You need to add the underlined word.

Yes. Yes I do. Thank you.
