Lowest ECL Tauric creature?

Using the Tauric Template from Savage Species what is the lowest ECL character you can make? Basically the goal is to find an animal, magical beast or vermin with extremely low HD that grants an ability worth having (along with the quadrapedal forms stability).

The only one I have found that seems useful so far is a Halfling/Leopard, which is medium and grants pounce for +5 ECL (3 HD, 2 LA).

Other ones that seem interesting:

Halfling/Blinkdog +6ECL gets blinking and DD abilities.

Halfling/Medium Monstrous Centipede +3ECL gets basically nothing but tauric template and a faster base movement (40 ft. and 40ft. climb)

Use incarnate construct on a warforged to get -2 LA. Cheapest trick I know.

Best animal for this is a Phynxkin (Dragon Magic). I believe it's the only medium-sized 1HD quadraped animal in print. Speed 40', Climb 20', bite/claw/claw, and Pounce.

Throw a human on top and you've got 2 RHD and LA +3. Add Effigy to turn it into a construct, then Incarnate Construct for LA -2 and humanoid type. Add Necropolitan for -1 RHD. ECL = 2 (1 RHD + 1 LA).

Which you then lose the single RHD when you take a class level. Amusing!
