Kaupunki tuhka the city of dwarves... the city of ashs the dwarves made gand structures deep within this cavern, it was here an elderly human, who was quite the oddity in the city of dwarves, seeked help through use of a messenger board he wasn't expecting any help with acquiring some odd ingredients from outside the city.

Jack raises his finger to indicate one moment and leaves to find an alleyway with any form of trash bin.

on the message board it asks that if your interested go to the houses near the only exit in front there will be a human waiting, also jack finds one with a hobo looking for anything of value in the trash bin

"Ahh another world wanderer" he pulls out a rectangle with a dot in the middle (a hoboglyph for danger) "I am here to make an offer: Option A I take that trash can you come with me I'll pay you in real food, Option B You stay here I take trash can I'll pay you in whatever food I find, Option C I use you to draw out raccoons. I'm not a man for violence I'm one for oppurtunity.

the city is in a mountain very ashy from industry and a lot of dwarves there is also alot of crafts places suggesting high minerals for their crafts and alot of dwarves on the street seeming to be poor (sorry about this not being in the start still very new at this pbp dming) the hobo hears your options and backs away slowly "I will get the next one." said the nervous dwarf hobo

What are our immediate surroundings like? The style of the buildings around us and stuff?

in your immediate surroundings, your in the middle of the market district a lot of buildings are carved out of the mountain and they are a rather good height, most over two stories for multiple stores, most of the rocks are a dark grey from the ash from the manufacturing section of the city there are, many everburning torches to keep the place lit and a large glowing crystal on one of the shops producing the most light for the market district.

"Hmm nice locals" walking away carrying the trash over his shoulder. He returns with a smile "Ready to go yet? Also why are we here?" Jack says ready to go unsure of where he's actually going.

A young woman with long brown hair in a ponytail stands before you, her slim form covered in tight-fitting clothes. She wears leather armor with metal studs, and carries a rapier at her side.
She turns to look at Jack.
"Why did I ever join the group this guy was in?" she mutters.
"The request says we should go to the houses near the exit."

one of the deeper, looming shadows behind you says:

the shadow turns out to be a half orc clad in studded leather armor, with a flachion strapped to the back, and several throwing axes in the belt.

rather than the black hair common to Half Orcs this one has coppery red hair and patina green eyes.

Jack turns to the shadowy orc "Hmm" he reaches out to shake hands. "Nice hair"

A youngish man, wearing priest's robes modified to stop getting in the way of things, and with a bow and a very full backpack on his back, appears from an intersection maybe ten feet in front and walks in the same direction as the rest of the group. He still hasn't noticed any of them yet.

And trust me when things get dangerous no one will beat my muscle" rolling up his sleeve to show an arm not wrapped with muscle but not bony "And yes we are here for that job, maybe either way I need to a week or two to map this place out for my family so any cash will go nicely.

"Work work work work work," Larucan muttered to himself, approaching the message board and paying no mind to the antics of those surrounding him.

The Elf stood tall in front of the message board and looked over the requests. At first glance, he looked like a homeless man, because that's what he was.

"Laa di daaa"

Larucan was cleanly bald on the entire left side of his scalp, while the right side covered in patches of grimy, dark hair. His clothes were covered in mud and tattered all over the place, and his skin was equally weathered.

"Hmmmmm... Kill some giant rats... Find a missing girl... Not now, St. Pogo!" he said, scolding the penguin, "Ah! Here we go. 'Acquire ingredients' - that's right up my alley!"

It appears you've walked right up our dark alleyway. rubbing his head as though he had an itch on his forehead to show Larucan a symbol of a rectangle with a black dot which quickly disappears. "If you want that job though you'll have to share" pinning the paper to the wall with his cane."The names Jack,Alyss, and Kalessin correct? turning back to check again "Also we have this man after our job who has yet to give us a name so I'm going with Mo. My brother goes by that name."

Delayed in response, Larucan turned around to introduce himself to his new co-workers.

"I, am the renowned Larucan Mytheron, and this," he pointed to the air next to him, "is St. Pogo. St. Pogo, don't be rude. Say hello to these nice people!"

After a bit of a pause, Larucan furrowed his brow.

"St. Pogo, you're embarrassing me!"

Another pause.

"Well fine then! Get in my backpack. I don't want to hear a peep out of you until you're ready to be civil!"

Larucan scratched the side of his head that still had hair.

"Good to meet you Jack, but I believe you are mistaken. I am by no means a sergeant, and I think I already said that my name is Larucan, not Crazy."

Larucan looked over at the rest of the group.

"Is this guy okay?" he mouthed inaudibly, tapping his own skull to indicate possible mental issues.

"Well than you are in serious need of a promotion Private Laucan." Jack proceeds to walk backwards to the exit pointing at Larucan, spinning a finger around his ear acting out " "He will kill us in our sleep" "

"...Private? St. Pogo, did you enlist me in the King's militia? I told you not to answer the door while I was away!"

Realizing that he was now bound by law to serve his Majesty, the bold Elf turned to the strongest looking individual in the group.

"You must be our commanding officer," Private Larucan said to Kalessin, "Larucan Mytheron, reporting for duty."

"I don't do commanding"

"You're not really a private, but you said you weren't a captain, so Jack," she gestures to Jack, "just called you a private."

Larucan eyes Alyss suspiciously, then turns back to Kalessin, "Whatever you say, boss. When do we start?"

[Bovine Colonel]

"Also we have this man after our job who has yet to give us a name so I'm going with Mo. My brother goes by that name."

"Uh, my name's Antas. Antas of Cordem."

Antas is silent for most of the conversation, wondering what madness had driven him to take this job.

"Hmm it seems like we're in need of a compromising" Jack said heading back in the group "Alyss you and I are one a team and I'd love to work with you Kalessin but considering that we all want the job I think it's only fair that the person who gets their first should get it. Jack reachs into his pouch pulling out supplies "I welcome the challenge. Enlarge Person!" Jack grows to large size and begins to bolt to the exit.

The older human sat at the door of his house in a wooden chair, he had only a few streaks of brown hair left on his head, and he had a smooth chin no facial hair at all he leaned back in his chair wondering how long before someone comes barreling down for his job offer. He was sure someone would for such high pay for nearly no work.

[Bovine Colonel]

Antas sighs, mutters something under his breath, and takes off after Jack soon after he starts casting. He should be able to overtake Jack, at least briefly, due to the delay from casting. If he's the only one getting the job, that suddenly makes it a much more attractive offer.

Larucan hikes up his backpack and begins skipping towards his new acquaintences, unaware that he's supposed to be competing with them.

"C'mon Pogo!" he shouts a little too eagerly, "Gotta keep up with the rest of the unit!"

I knew I should have studied Enlarge Person.

Kalessin watches the arcne performance with interest.

Alyss moves even faster as she sees Jack cast a spell at Kalessin.

She gets behind him and grabs his leg, attempting to knock him off balance.

The old man seeing many travelers barrel down the hallway he simply blinks he holds up his hand and speaks softly "you guys should slow down I don't want to rebuild my house." they probably didn't hear him

Antas keeps running, ignoring the shenanigans going on around him. With any luck, they'll be too focused on each other to notice him.

Jack sets Alyss down. "In retrospect I should've cast mount" shrinking back down.

Alyss follows behind Jack, shaking her head. "Sorry about the others," she says to the old man.

"its fine, I was eccentric in my younger days as well." he said speaking to alyss "now you must be wondering why pay so much for what seems like something easy." he looked at everyone who had gathered here right now

"I was actually more interested in what St. Pogo looks like I can't seem to see him." Jack says

Antas looks up, surprised by Jack's sudden burst of sanity, before returning to a state of "will wake self up when things actually start happening".

Jack stops for a moment and grabs Larucan by the shoulder and turns to look him in the eyes. "Seeing things that no one else sees? Acting odd. You must have the Sight? Jack says with a grin on his face "I've been waiting to meet someone like you Larucan"

"boy, your crazy.... but I like crazy its funner, now then the ingredients I want is in the woods... somewhere, Slime moss is what I call it. its a great ingredient for potions, go get some for lazy poor me? probably should mention its slimy as heck thats the key trait" he looked at everyone who had gathered here he had a light smile on his face

"well the reason for the high price is I am lazy and rich, there might be a dryad or two I assume as their always a stick in the mud about you taking herbs from the forest, them and nymphs and stuff that lives in the woods for disturbing its territory."

"directions well if you follow me to the exit I can show you where they are, also you seem like the most... sane person here didn't expect it after... *he looked at jack and larucan* them, also the lady is nice didn't expect that either." he slowly stood up from his chair, his cotton robe that bunched up on his lap fell to the ground with a thud. He began to walk off his porch grabbing a small cane even though he obviously didn't need it

Jack takes a look around the old man's estate looking for guards and the such.
Than he follows the old guy copying his walking style.

"The sight?" Larucan muttered to his penguin friend, "Yes, yes, both of my eyes work. What about you St. Pogo? Yeah, that's what I thought. Perhaps he's blind? Oh dear, I hope he doesn't try to steal our eyes."

Larucan shuddered a bit. He liked his eyes.

Antas breaks his own silence. "So basically, you want us to go into the forest and fetch some of this...slime moss and bring it back here, possibly having some violent encounters with the otherwise innocent nature-associated locals along the way? Is slime moss what it's actually called? How do we identify it?"

[slaydemons]

"well if you don't want to fight them I think it is fully possible to reason with them, as for the name its just something I came up with as I feel it describes the moss well when used in water the water will become a salve to which you can easily close your wounds, and identifying it is.... well its probably the slimiest muck you can find on a tree and its a blue color not like normal moss." he explained slowly without looking back

"Are you charging by the pound or something because I'm sure Larucan can carry my weight in slime. Mancers really lack muscle." Jack backs up a bit away from the old man behind the whole group "I don't trust this guy" Jack whispers to everyone "We need more information"

"well, Yes by the pound but don't take all you see you know nature balance and all we want them to keep growing for more people to get them." he kept walking as he slowly reached the exit

"Got it, get the slime, don't die and don't upset the natural order" Jack buttons up his coat pulls his hood on and kicks the door open.

There were many mountains and at the bottom of the big mountains were lush forest with several rivers going all around the mountains and into small pools of water at the crevices the mountains almost all have snowy peaks and it went on for miles

"Well lady and lads moss and slime are commonly found in wet areas such as near rivers and what I'm after is there as well" Jack proceeds to make his way to the river.

the old man looked at the descending jack "Well, he is correct but he left without me saying its near the top of trees typically so good luck you crazy adventurers."

"Top of trees. Got that. Anything else?"

"last thing?" he thought for a moment "good luck." he turned around and began to walk back inside the mountain to his house

On his way down to the river he'll be checking the trees for slime.

[Bovine Colonel]

Antas looks around the forest, near the closest river, for a relatively tall tree he can affix a rope to and brace against while climbing the rope, reattach the rope to a higher branch to climb that, and so on. After he makes sure the tree doesn't contain anything that will murder or otherwise distract him from the task, he climbs the rope, bracing against the tree. When he gets to the top he looks around the nearby treetops for any blue moss that might happen to be there.

Taking 20 to find an appropriate tree with nothing that will kill Antas (since this is a forest), 10 for a total of 12 to climb the tree, and 20 if possible or 10 if not on any other skill checks involved. I assumed an automatic success because I can't think of any other skill checks and the DC to climb a rope with a wall to brace against is 5.

Alyss looks at the treetops, trying to find the slime.

Larucan on the other hand, kept his eyes on the ground for any potential slime that might have dripped down from the tops.

Kallesin walks about the trees knocking, on them politely

Jack whispers to Larucan "At least we're polite enough to bow to the trees ask before we go knocking on them."

from his higher vantage point Antas was the first to spot some of the blue moss about 100 yards from where he was, and Kellesin hears a giggle that is quite girlish in nature "no." then more giggling. Alyss sees some odd red flowers growing on top of the tree odd red as in the foliage is red not the petals in fact the colors are reversed so the pedals are green, and the only thing to slip from the top of the trees for Larucan is bird poop

If Jack can find a clearing he'll start collecting branches on the ground for a fire to build near the river (in case the fire gets out of hand). Place some trash near some trees and build his tent in the middle.

Alyss climbs up a tree and looks around from up there.

Antas makes a careful note of where the moss is, descends from the tree, taking his rope with him, much in the same manner that he had climbed up in.
"There's some over there," he says, pointing in the direction he'd seen the moss.

"I might have found a dryad"

saying it loud enough for the two nearest to hear

"Dryads eh? Jack takes his cane, bowing first to the tree "I'm going to knock on you tree if that's okay if not drop blue slime on me" than Jack will knock on the tree "Anyone here?"

A slimy blue fungus drops to Jacks feet it was at least a pound of it at LEAST. Alyss sees the same Antas saw as well as a bit of movement from the blue slime dropping at Jack's feet. Kallasin doesn't here anything else from the 'dryad' but he does hear the plop of the slime falling to the ground

"If any of the trees here would like to be knocked on due nothing if you don't want to be knocked on drop blue slime to the ground" Jack says while scooping blue slime into his trash can.

as Jack bent over to grab the blue slime on the ground it suddenly slams into him doing rather minor damage (I assume minimum is one so one damage)

Alyss climbs down the tree. She then moves to one of the trees with slime in it.

"Can I please have some of the slime?"

The tree says nothing to Alyss it just sits there like a tree being unhelpful.

She climbs up the tree to get the slime.

[slaydemons]

the slime doesn't move there isn't a maybe about 8 ounces but it definitely feels like slime, pure slime. That was incredibly easy but she is too far to hear the thump of Jack getting tackled by a slime fungus monster thing, not too far to hear Jack make a sound if he made one but too far to hear the tackle itself.

Alyss takes out a sack, and quickly covers the slime with it, attempting to get the slime in.

"Interesting," Antas mutters as he climbs the appropriate tree to get the slime he saw earlier, making good use of rope. When he reaches the slime he makes sure to get onto the nearest stable branch before poking the slime with his longsword.

Taking 10 on any checks involved, as well as the attack roll since I'm pretty sure I'm not immediately threatened as such. If I can't take 10, then my roll is [roll0]. If I can take minimum damage 'cause I'm poking it with my sword and not actually trying to kill it, I will. If I have to roll damage, it's [roll1]

The Moss Alyss find does nothing as the slime Antas finds shrivels and tries to run now plopping to the ground

the slime tries to get away and tackle him It failed and was trapped in the trash can making a ruckus in it

After she collects the moss, Alyss looks for more slime moss in other trees from her vantage point.

the tree plummets to the ground and makes a large crashing noise the slime jumping off as it fell, onto the next tree. Alyss sees the slime jumping from one tree to the next. The one Antas found running as well

During the midst of this, Larucan moved in close, prepared a bomb, and waited for the right time so as not to cause his friends any splash damage. Finally, when the slime began scurrying, Larucan lit it up and gave it a toss.

Jack than sits down in his tent and watches the pile of trash he laid out waiting for anything to take his bait.

the bear stops and pushes the full grown man to the ground and grabbed him by the collar acting like "my cub." and began to saunter towards the rest of the party now non hostile

Using his last fish and his sword he'll spear the fish onto the sword and hold it out away from the bear to bait it off. "Now hold still while Jack tries and rides you"

Antas coughs, then begins to walk nonchalantly in the direction of the city, away from the bear and the guy attempting to ride it.

Alyss catches up to him.

"Don't think you'll be the only one to get that reward," she says, too quietly for the others back near the bear to hear. "But I don't mind if Jack doesn't get it because he was too busy trying to train a bear."

"Hmm. Without much cash buying a home or a place to stay would be irresponsible.C'mon bear that I hardly know." Hopping off Tybalt. "Lets try and find your cave so we can rest." Jack turns towards the woods and begins heading out. "If anyone needs my unique brand of work I'll be in the woods."

he not only finds a cave he builds a fire a poor one but it is there. The old man looks at the group who hasn't left "would you folks be interested in joining a guild, I have had the fancy of making one for a bit of a while know but no adventurers seem to even consider looking at me after they get paid."

"Aww Tybalt you can't be living in such a dilapidated area." Jack will go out to knock down some trees for wood to improve her shelter.

Jack will take the trees he has and make a triangular shape (equillateral) with the mountain the cave is in as one of the lines using the trees to mark it. Than he'll leave a small hole to walk through big enough for Tybalt and himself. . He'll use his shovel to surround the first two trees and make a flat space for him to place more trees on top. He'll also attempt to knock down more trees.

Taking two trees I'm going to make two parts of a triangle with the mountain the cave is in being the third line of the triangle. I'm going to make a small hole where the two trees meet for me to walk through. I'm going to dig up a small amount of dirt to surround both fallen trees so they'll stay in place. Than I'm going to pour more dirt on them so they're flat on the top with a bit of a ramp so I can roll another tree on top (with help from Tybalt).Once those two trees have two trees on top of them. I'm going to add more dirt. After that I'll need to go to town to retrieve supplies for the rest of the job. Hopefully passing by the clearing so I can retrieve my tent.

Before heading back to town to get supplies he'll take his cane sword planting it in the cave wall and using it as a coat hook. He'll flip his vest inside out (brown on the inside red on the outside). Letting his hair out (runs past his legs) he'll than head into town after collecting his tent.

If he sees the other adventurers Jack will say this "Greetings townies. Them woods changed me" Than proceed to head into town.

"... He hasn't even been out there for one day," Alyss says after Jack walks by and greets them.
"Anyway, an adventurer's guild might be good. We should have a headquarters, and adventuring equipment we sell, and a membership fee. You wouldn't have to be a member to be in the guild, but we would charge members less for supplies."

"They changed me quickly. Also I have a headquarters.I'm also heading into town now to get supplies to make it better. You're welcome to come along as I continue working on Vienna."

the old man puts up a single finger to show wait for a moment "I can't believe I didn't think of that how could I think of so many other things but the most simple." he comes back with a peace of parchment and actually starts to jot down her ideas then came up with his own like some minor stuff like the member ship annual fee maybe about 20 gp a year for minor things that they may need

"Old man would you be willing to pay for more slime? I may be taking a home out in the woods and I'm bound to run into more of it. I need to know if it's worth collecting" Jack asks the old man he needed money for his fortress.

"Perhaps, before we attempt to start an organization like this, we should make a name for ourselves? I don't think a small group of perfectly mundane people of the kind you see on the street every day would be very successful in starting a guild for adventurers."

he turned to Antas "well that could be right but the guild doesn't have to start off famous right so why don't we get you together as the first group."

"Hmm most groups name themselves after what brought them together. I doubt 'the slimeballs' is a good name though.We need something that sums us up.What about 'The Unusuals'?" Jack said with a grin.

"how about something simple like the adventurer's guild, just a thought." he stated calmly still with his pen out along with his parchment out

"The guild can be called that but what of us? This odd bunch brought together in a pursuit of material gain. What name will you give to this crew?This crew that embodies strength.. pointing to Kallesin the crew that has courage.. pointing at Alyss and wisdom pointing to Antas I ask you old man what name do you give to the crew that sees things differently? pointing to Larucan and everyone else. I ask because I want to know what I should call my friends'' Jack says looking the old man in the eyes.

"you forgot double dose of insanity." he pointed to both Jack and Larucan "why do you need a name for a group its like naming a rock, makes no sense. instead why don't you see your selves as friendly rivals all working with each other to over come obstacles but at the same time trying to work harder then the others." he looked at them "it makes for a great team ethic."
